  1. Well, this came in today. Thought I'd share a few pics of it. My sister ordered this for her '02 Durango. She currently has a Kenwood KDC-X493 HU running to a Hifonics ZXi8006. PG RSD 6.5's in the front and JBL 6.5's in the back doors and a Pyle Red Label 12" Square sub that her ex had given her a few years ago. It should be a great upgrade to this from that Pyle POS and it should be at home on the ~300wrms @ 2 ohms the Hifonics is rated for. We'll be building a 2-2.25cuft enclosure for it as soon as I get my vehicles done this spring.
  2. TC Sounds = OEM Buildhouse and direct to consumer sales (Bankrupt). Working on a return from bankruptcy with offshore manufacturing. Audiopulse = Same as TC Sounds but went to a dealer network (Part of the now bankrupt TC Sounds) SoundSplinter = Still around and working on new products and new buildhouse. TC Sounds built for Soundsplinter in the past.
  3. Take a look at the box designs under the XCON banner at the SSA Store. That box should work fine. The XCON will be a monster in a ported box!
  4. You can look at Audiopipe 3000 watt amp it is 2 ohm stable, you first need to give a budget. You wont find anything cheaper for the power you want, plus it does not take 3000 -4000 watts to push a BTL. The recommended rms is 2000 watts and if you dont know what your doing then stick with that, just cause you see someone doing something doesnt mean you need to unless you want to damage your new subwoofer. Your also gonna need to put some money aside to upgrade your electrical or your gonna have even more problems, I hope you thought this system out ahead of time instead of just buying the sub with the most rms you can. If so this will be a major fail especially if on a limited or small budget
  5. Umm, no. Putting an amp with 400w on a driver is NOT the same as throwing 400w to them. They will not take 400w thermally. They also won't take it mechanically unless you defeat their whole purpose by crossing them too high. TERRIBLE recommendation.
  6. I (personally) would not run kicker for your purpose. sorry. The ssa subs would be better. I'd be willing to bet on it.
  7. You gotta throw the xcon in the conversation. Its a low end maniac. Denim was just to classy to throw his own product in the mix so ill do it. lol
  8. To give you a better response instead of just giving you shitty recommendations, go measure your trunk with the room you have available with the amps where you want them (height x width x depth). Once you give us your measurements and budget for subs then we can give you some suggestions on subs.
  9. I don't think RE told anyone to send 250 watts to these babies !!! What did you expect ?!! They look pretty, high quality. But I never listened to them. Try to listen to what they sell in your local shops, and tell us what you like or dislike. Then.......ask M5 ! He knows his sh*
  10. Yeah I've also come to the conclusion that they suck. So what don't you guys like about them? Compression fitting? Or don't they tighten enough around the post? They dont tighten up on the post and if you try to give it half turn more it strips.
  11. Do not buy the knukonceptz terminals. I and a few other dudes on here have had terrible luck with these things. try em if you want but im just trying to save you a few bucks. i dont know anybody yet that had good luck with them.
  12. People have thrown 400 to them in active chief. Just gotta know how to do it.
  13. hell if u can get 3.5 after displacement and port, you could do a 15" nightshade...they like smaller boxes...3.5 is their maximum recommended.
  14. I don't see why people keep downrating your comments, your just telling the truth. Thanks for the help man. Becuase he is giving horrible recommendations without stating any kinds of facts or info to show how throwing this amount of power at those speakers will work with no problems. Definitely deserved negative marks for those. RE Tech support themselves have told me they have personally done this in an active setup. They also told me that this would void the warranty. I was using this statement to back the fact that 250 watts is achievable through these drivers in an active setup if crossed over correctly and properly eq'd. Is it beneficial? Probably not. This was the easiest way to show how durable these speakers are. I am not here to argue, and I am stating facts. I am getting sick of this fucking forum and the people calling others out over nothing. I have received false information from many people, including a couple of you, and am not calling them out. You make an unpleasant atmosphere for people here that are trying to get information. On SMD I have posted the same topic and received a completely different view and perspective on what to do with my front stage. Just an example. There is more than one point of view on things. Please don't respond back with an argument to this. It's pointless and I will not respond back.
