2 pointsLike how a face to face with Mark was required to see the refund through....even if that is argued the timing is such that it is true.2 points

And I thought AQ would be good
1 pointr u sure? Have u confirmed the gain is turned CLOCKWISE.. from left to right? Also, just for shits n giggles, lets open this amp up FULLY to see if it's user error- Take gain, turn it ALL the way to the right,. Subsonic filter - ALL the way to the LEFT. Low pass filter- ALL the way to the RIGHT. Remote gain controller - unplug it! Play a song at volume 1 and gradually keep turning it up. DO NOT TURN UP TOO LOUD! IF and once u notice more bass is being produced at an exceptional level in SPL compared to now, STOP and turn down or off. Because i have just told u how to run ur amp wide open, u can possibly kill your sub by playing too loud.. This is just to test user error.1 point

1 pointcheck to make sure sub preout setting on headunit is turned up. It sounds like it's at least turned on.' Is the remote gain controller plugged in? If it is, the GAIN on the amp needs to be turned up around 75-85% of the way up. this is the master GAIN controller, the one on the amp. Now start to turn the gain up on the remote control, it will keep getting louder.1 point

1 pointNo reason to blow up on anyone. Either you have something wrong, or the amp is bad. Either way, find out the issue and contact AQ if something really is wrong. Now if they tell you to screw off then you have something to blow up about. Things fail, it happens. No matter how good the amp is there are bound to be a few duds for whatever reason.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
Unfortunitely you are probably right. My alt that Robbie told me would 100% without a doubt fit didnt. We should be taking bets on when DC Power will be going out of business due to horrible customer service and a faulty expensive product. My bet is 6-10 months.1 point

I want SQ Part II
1 pointWhat's your budget for this? And what do you currently have for equipment? So you can't afford to sell your current deck and buy one that's capable of running active? Like an alpine 9887, 9886 w/ pxa-h100, pioneer 880? You can get one of these for around $200-250 if you shop around. And if you don't already have the 100.4, you could buy a cheaper amp with similar power and a lesser crossover and save about $100. Which makes the active capable deck more reasonable. That also opens up your choices for running whatever speakers you want and not having to settle for a passive 2-way set now that will probably get replaced later. Not to mention it takes a lot of time to get an active setup to sound good. This would give you time tuning a 2-way active stage, and make it easier for you to tune a 3 way later down the road.1 point

System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Thanks. I will help you learn how to solder if you are interested. There are many great online how-to's and youtube videos available as well. There is a wide variety of wire and RCA connectors to choose from. I can guide you to resources to help you decide on the right components for your install. Stuff like this is really rewarding imo.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
Stupid question: If his alts are done and have been forever, and you're just waiting to complete the brackets......why not ship the guy his alts (more than likely the most costly part of this transaction), and DC Power contract and pay for someone like tejcurrent, another manufacturer right here on this forum, to build the brackets? It seems like this would go a long way towards completing the transaction on a pretty timely basis. At the very least, this would put the biggest chunk of change back into the OP's hands by having a tangible product in his possession. Then the only thing left is the bracket, which if another manufacturer such as tejcurrent can't produce on a timely basis, it's less of a refund that would need to be made by DC. And the OP can be on his merry way finding someone who can build a bracket for him. With all of the machine shops in the US, and another manufacturer right here on this forum whose explicit business is building alt brackets, I can't believe this isn't something that could have been completed at least since the start of this thread.....much less nearly 2 years. I totally agree. Personally if I was a company, I couldn't hold a persons money for two years without product. There are to many other options to for brackets these days, and 2 years, that's crazy. I couldn't wait that long even if I haven't paid upfront. I don't know how in the world you let them dick you around this long. I hope this can get settled. I always thought DC was a good company, but regardless, this isn't right. Wow, I just spent the past hour reading this whole thread. So RHoughton1, do you know anything new yet? like this crazy, this isn't just *shit* It doesn't take 2 years for a *shit* to get resolved. I honestly think you have done the right thing by keeping SSA updated on this whole situation. It seems like DC is trying to keep this from the public as much as possible, which I can't blame them, I would too if I took a customers money and never gave them a product after 2 years.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
The crazy thing was I had nothing but problems with mechman so I went with DC, and I had a few bumps along the way as well, but the product is solid for sure, customer service lately NOT SO MUCH! I can understand most of the aspects Rob listed like being sick and what not, but he shouldnt have to just rely on himself to build/complete orders as it seems he is doing for whatever reason?! I dont know what the Op plans on doing, but clearly this is WRONG DOING by the company!1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
I hear Mike Singer has some very good alternators right now. Mike Singer? Sorry dont know who he is does he own a Alt company? No he does not, I'm not sure where he gets them. Go though Mechman if you want a specific company.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
After this long and this much trouble, I'd be refunding him AND sending his alternators to him. FREE.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
now i would have to respectfully disagree there. This is a DC engineering official online board, right? (I'm honestly not sure) And this is a DC engineering customer service "issue". Granted i think the OP is going the total wrong way about this, but I completely understand his frustration. Whether its DC, the OP, or simply communication errors to blame, i can easily see how the OP would be frustrated. I'm glad threads like this exist. To me, they show one of two things. 1) Negative customer service for a company that is usuallly boasted by the members 2) Positive customer service for the company dealing with people who come into a situation with this attitude to have it being the consumers fault and not the company. Just my opinon1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
-1 pointsThe ONLY reason this isn't done is because we are waiting on other people. Waiting on our CNC machines because 2 of our machine shops went out of business, waiting to get the vehicle back that we're using so we can finish the bracket, and that's it. Plain and simple.. This has ABSOLUTELY nothing WHATSOEVER to do with us and our customer service, NOTHING! We've done everything we possibly can to get this done in a timely manner and Randy damn well knows it. I've spoken to him almost on a weekly basis giving him updates and he knows everything that's going on so if anyone has any ideas that we're not trying to resolve this, I assure you that's not the case. If any of you had any idea how hard prototyping is, and then dealing with losing a vehicle mid-stream and having a machine shop going out of business while your doing it, you would understand! If any of you think that we're just blowing a customer off and not getting it done because we dont want to your wrong. I dare say that any of our previous customers know how fanatical we are about maintaining the highest level of customer service and know there's just about no length that we wont go to to make sure our customers are 1000% happy. We still ship 98% of our orders within 48 hours, and the rest within 7 days max as a general rule. If that's not good enough, then as the owner of the company I dont know what else I can do. Sometimes despite our best efforts to avoid it, shitty things just happen, and this is one of those times. But, on the upside... Reasons like this is why we spent $250k on our own CNC machines, moved into a new 5k sq foot building, dropped another $50k on a new test bench, and now have 3D laser scanning, rapid prototyping, and an engineer with an MBA in mechanical engineering from MIT on staff. Do any of you really, honestly think that we did all of that, and spent that kind of money because we dont give a shit about our customers and when their things get done? No, we did it because we build the best high output alternators on the planet, and we're NEVER satisfied with what we have and we're ALWAYS trying to be better and we wont ever stop! We also realized that we cant rely on other people and businesses to have the same desire and relentless pursuit of perfection that we do, so we are bringing all of that capability in house so WE are in control of it. I promise you, as sure as I'm living and breathing that pisses me off MORE than it does the OP that this isn't done, and anyone who personally knows me knows that. Anyone who thinks otherwise, you have my apologies but you know absolutely nothing about me, about our company, and what we really stand for because what happened here, just doesn't happen here unless it's totally out of our control and it's something we take extremely personal..-1 points
