  1. BS Eric... You were told exactly what was going on time after time, and when I finally gave you an exact date it would be done, guess what? It was done.. You just pitched a fit the day before, demanded a refund and I GAVE someone else the alt I built for you. Shitty thing is man I bent over BACKWARDS to get that done for you too because of how things went down and how bad you needed it. Too bad for you though man, the XP's for the Hyundai's turned out pretty freaking SICK. You could have had your alt and would have absolutely loved it too... Get over it and move on bro... I don't care how good your alts may be, or how bad your suppliers have stiffed you with delays. You act like a complete douche to customers on the internet forums. This is not the first time I've seen you spout off with smart-ass comments towards a customer on here. It actually seems to be a pretty common reaction from you when a customer says something you don't like. I'm not arguing that you don't have a right to respectfully defend your company. But for fuck's sake, handle it with a little dignity. There's a right way and a wrong way to handle a situation, it seems more often than not you chose the latter. There's always two sides to a story.....but given the way you conduct yourself on here, I'm not surprised by all of the negative things said about the CS from your company given you can't even remotely conduct yourself in a professional manor when interacting with customers here on the forum. Proving a customer wrong isn't winning. DC isn't the first company in history to have supplier issues and unhappy customers.....however a shit load of those other companies are capable of handling the situation with far more dignity, professionalism and respect.

From what I see (no personal experience) I have to agree. A phone call or email unsolicited from the customer goes a long way. People just want to know they have not been forgotten when you have their $.

I don't think you would need any man. I ran a pair of 15" Xcons in 6cf and the box was maybe a little too big. If anything you could go smaller on the box and stuff it with pollyfill. NP on that power either IMO. I will say this, they will freaking pound in a sealed box and sound excellent doing so. You will be VERY surprised with the output you will get. Excellent choice for sealed boxes and it was prolly was more their design even though everyone ports them.

Why not build a box on the bigger side (3cf) and add mdf to the inside until you get what your after. Then you can rebuild to that size to reduce the space. Best I can tell you is 3cf sounded very good, but could have been a little smaller with no issues.

Why is a qtc of 0.60 with a vb of 3.0^3ft better than a qtc of 0.70 with a vb of 1.75^3ft????? May or may not be for you, depends on your goals. Every manufacturer has to pick a Qtc for their recommended box sizes. Normally they end up having someone in marketing choose a number that the engineers present to them that they feel corresponds to their specific market. Generically speaking .7 is considered normal and lower numbers are more damped higher more "warm". On top of that the Q of the box will affect the roll off in the frequency domain. In the car audio world this can also be chosen such that it utilizes the "average" cabin gain effectively. I think no one really answered because you said better or they don't understand Qtc. Different sure, better, maybe. For sealed boxes in a listening area I would definitely encourage polyfill, for a trunk of a car not so much. It isn't only used for making the driver think its in a larger enclosure.

You're probably smacking the spiders into the top plate...if you haven't already snapped them. Turn your subsonic filter up.

Never met any goal using polyfill .. make a propper size box , no polyfill , the effects of polyfill aren't that big anyway

I don't know for your calculations, but 3 ft3 is good for a sealed box. I ran mine in a box like that on 1500 watts, and it was sounding very very good. But you loose some output if you compare with a ported box. Stick with the 3 ft3 box.
  9. I love everyone. You guys are all so awesome, wish I could meet everyone on here in person Lol. I cant wait to order my alt from dc. I work in CS and dude its a sucky job when you get to talk to ppl in dickhead moods all day hopefully now that DC got their parts shipped in, all the delays will be caught up and have no more issues. TBH if everyone was smart, if you are this concerned, call DC right before purchasing and say hey go in the back and check if you have this "xxxx" ( the alt you are wanting to order ) in stock right now?? And could is it ready to go, shipped out in 48hrs?.. If they say oh yeah we have one right here ready to go.. WOW HOLY CRAP BUY IT!! if not.. Call back later.. BUY IT WHEN ITS FREAKIN IN STOCK Then you don't have to worry yay party!
  10. You're right, there are 2 sides to every story. I could have handled things more professionally, so could he have on his part. Your feedback is duly noted and respected and I will try and conduct myself in a much more professional manner in the future. Rob
  11. Strand count has nothing to do with DC since there is no skin effect and the current travels through the entire conductor. This is a huge, huge missunderstanding in the car audio community. There is no such thing as copper tinned copper. Normal copper that is tinned with anything only helps with oxidation in the DC realm. (again, no skin effect in DC so higher conductivity tinning has miniscule effect) Aluminum wire of the same gauge is a much worse conductor than copper, no matter what the aluminum is plated with. That is pretty much the end all and can't really be disputed. Period.

I don't know what the T/S parameters are, but if that box gives a Q of around .7 or less than polyfill won't make things any better. May even sound worse to alot of people....

I would say it should still do the power. Try this sight for polyfill info: http://audiojunkies.com/forum/blog/4777-ultimate-polyfill-subwoofer-enclosure-resource.html

specifically because he mentioned "artificial bass" tracks I will go ahead and say YES.. he needs to have a SSF in place... Otherwise go sealed with a second Dcon???
  15. Honestly I couldn't care less about the subjective reviews that will be posted. Far more interested in the T/S parameters and other objective measurements you have, such as an FR graph How long is the presale going to be open for?
  16. Thank you for exploiting my comments. I have not shared any information from my dealings with DC Power that have not been factual. Kyle offered me a refund in December of 2010 or wait till mid January 2011 for my.alternator. I choose to wait till January for my alternator.... There really isn't anything for me to quarrel with you about. I no longer want a DC Power alternator now nor will I in the future. But I will share my experience dealing with DC Power to others
  17. For trunk noise, you have the choice of either treating the trunk itself or going behind the back seat and over the rear deck. I don't think the second idea is workable if there will be sub(s) in the trunk. I look at subs in a trunk as being analogous to having an HT setup - with the sub in your neighbor's house. Adding a barrier between the trunk and passenger compartment just makes this worse. You want as much sound as possible to travel into the passenger compartment. You wouldn't have to treat the entire trunk since the box itself will make a pretty good barrier.
  18. shoulda picked up a PS3...

Nope you cant use a new topic as a battery, unless there is something I been missing lately in car audio
  20. I was going to say be very careful and use a razor but that seems like a dumb idea. Soooooo, ignore that post.
