Bulid status?
2 pointsWe all get that...But when you order something expecting to get it in 2~3 week, now going on 6 weeks...It gets frustrating and we want to know why. Denim has been very good about answering us in a timely manner so as far as customer service I couldn't be happier with SSA, however this wait has been painfully long. It just sucks that its taken this long and we still have another good week-2 weeks of waiting ahead since they have not been actually shipped out yet. Obviously Ive heard these subs are worth the wait and I do not regret ordering from here. Just really tired of waiting.. If Denim hadn't been keeping in contact - then I would be freaking out. But I agree, 6+ weeks is a long time. In my opinion it should have been removed from the store sooner since you know the capabilities of your build house. In the future when a problem like this occurs - I would recommend giving some numbers and eta's rather than just soon. That's really not what your customers want to hear when it could be 1-3 months. I'm certainly in no position to tell you how to run your business but this is just my opinion from a customer perspective. When you're talking about such long time frames giving some numbers such as the amount of orders being completed per week, the number being sent out per week, and where your order stands in line would completely eliminate threads like these and your customers would not be concerned. Thank you for your input, and I promise I wish we could have everyone's drivers out same day, but we cannot. When the few people that placed their order, who are past due, everything was on time and on schedule as it had been for a while. We have adjusted our ordering availability on the SSA store until everything is back up to speed. But a number of issues out of our control and massive build demand has caused the extended time lines. The problem with giving numbers or dates, is 99% of the time in this industry they don't get met (which is universal but that is just how this industry is). There are so many parts coming from all over the country to build each and every sub woofer, not to mention these SSA subs each are getting machine work done individually. These are not mass produced. So to give an uncertain set date, when we cannot be at the build house building just our drivers to rush them out the door, it would make customers very upset if that date comes and goes. To be honest, I don't want our subs rushed, I want them right. Trust me, we understand the frustration, it is killing me every moment people do not have their sub woofers as I know the end result will be excellent. As for the amount of orders being completed per week, that is constantly fluctuating, not to mention, to keep the doors open our build house has to build for many different brands at once, and we do not have access to that information legally. There are numerous monetary factors that play into the whole equation that severely limits us from making any massive changes to the set up. To help a little with the situation, for few that have been waiting for over 30 days, email me (aaron @ soundsolutionsaudio.com) with your order number and I will apply a $15 SSA Store credit to your account.2 points

Diff. Between 18 ssd to 12 btl?..!!!
Should be a noticeable difference, the 18" btl will have more power and more motor force than ur ssd, the only way to see how much of a difference is to try it, theoretically is should be twice as loud1 point

2 12" dd 1500's vs 1 12" xcon in khaotic enclosure
Save for the second Xcon if you have the room. More cone area than a single 15" for example. And cheaper than a Zcon. You won't have to sell your current xcon, only the badass box !1 point

2 12" dd 1500's vs 1 12" xcon in khaotic enclosure
You don't have to upgrade the amp right away. At the moment, I'm only giving my Sundown Nightshades a combined 1500 RMS and they can handle much more. If I were you, I would pick up another XCON then upgrade your electrical until you are able to properly support an amp with around 3K RMS. As for the box, any chance you can build it yourself? There are a lot of people here who can help with designs.1 point

2 12" dd 1500's vs 1 12" xcon in khaotic enclosure
Ive head the dd's before. Wasnt all that impressed. Id keep the Xcon and later on add another one. You have a top of the line sub going from that to bottom of line subs is a downfrade dont you think? Less spiders, smaller vc, etc.. Just an opinion/thought1 point

2 12" dd 1500's vs 1 12" xcon in khaotic enclosure
Not even in the same league. The DDs might get a bit louder due to sheer cone area, the Xcon will do everything better though, if you're used to a nice Xcon setup, going to DD1512s is probably not going to please you.1 point
-
2 12" dd 1500's vs 1 12" xcon in khaotic enclosure
nope, either build a new box and test for your xcon or buy different subs. dd1500s are no where near the xcon.1 point

06 Lincoln Navigator- RF & some 18s
those have an issue with water dripping down into the last 2 cylinders on the passenger side.. 7 and 8.. some times from the heater core, some times from heavy rain, some times from a hard car wash... the motor sits far back under the dash and the cowl sits right over the last 2 cylinders.. also i have seen intermediate failer of the single over head coils a cheap fix, around 50 bucks. . hopefully its somthing simple like that1 point

1 pointIMO an active crossover NEEDS selectable slopes, is better with phase control (easier than doing it manually), digital selectability of the cross point, and of course goodies like eq and t/a don't hurt either but could surely be independent.1 point
-
Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
1 pointNo worries, just wanted to make sure you gave your mids room to breath. Most people don't when they do kicks which regularly can defeat all the positives you could possible have by running your drivers there. Now we just need to convert you to running active.1 point

1 pointDefinitely keep it in your signature and definitely announce it when you win. Everyone will be happy for you. Just don't use it as a reason for what your answer is in a thread. Answer technically and you don't need to rationalize anything with competition.1 point

Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
1 pointThen you can solve the whole issue right now and answer the question. Either you are lying or it exists. If you don't answer EVERYONE here will again know that you didn't admit it so I'd be quiet but that you were lying, if you truly know then just answer the question. Very simple. If you truly compete and really need 25Hz and you choose the album (which you did) then you can easily state not only what instrument, but what point in what song it occurs otherwise you obviously did not design your system for that. It is up to you to FINALLY actually show you know something or admit again you are lying. There are only two choices. Pick.1 point

Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
1 pointActually you didn't even answer my first question, but perhaps you don't know the answer...just like you didn't know what song you tuned your enclosure for. Equipment isn't that important. By no means am I saying arbitrary equipment is necessary, but no need to split hairs and spending extra regularly doesn't buy you anything. A great install of mediocre equipment will always beat a mediocre install of great equipment. ALWAYS. Oh, I understand exactly what they could be used for, but am also sure that isn't why you are using them. Of course you could clarify this in less than a sentence, that is assuming you know. Another way to do this if you aren't sure because someone else is doing your install is to describe what processing you will be using on your rears. You aren't part of that we. You can easily prove things, but again instead of 'tooting your horn' citing what you think you've done, just answer the question and it will be obvious whether you are actually helpful or just posing. I completely disagree, I could give a crap what anyone else has. I am a music lover and want to have the best sounding system for me. Rarely am I even interested in demoing it for anyone as I don't care what they think. So far your suggestions have been to copy you or use what gear you have and regularly for applications that are completely different than yours. So either you really don't get it or you give terrible advice. Not expensive and also not special. Worrying about the acoustic signature of your amplifiers is the least of your worries, you have many other things that make a much bigger difference. I hope BCA does shock the world, but considering there is no new technology in the drivers I really don't expect to be wowed. I am sure that there are many comparable and better drivers available, although I'd love to be proven wrong. If they are so shocking, perhaps you could explain ANY technical advantage they will have over all the other drivers currently available. Are you thick? You remember the other thread where you admitted you lied about those frequencies even being in ANYTHING you listen to?1 point

1 pointWhat if I answered YES to everyone of your questions, would that make my credentials better so you'd actually offer help instead of gibberish. Funny thing is, I can and AM trying to help you improve your score and believe me if you listen and interact positively it will. Unlike yourself I'll be glad to let my knowledge and answers speak for myself and not post my "history". Secrets? What secrets?? Cable's system is just what it appears to be, and nothing more. It's a K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) system. No 30 drivers, no 10 amps, no high dollar head units, no 128 band mono eq's, no super computer required to run all the processing. It is so simplistic, that it blows you away that the sound of that system, comes from THAT system, and it scares the hell out of systems that 10x as much. I saw, heard and discussed the previous systems in his truck and will surely do the same in any updates. I'm not afraid the give critical analysis of his system and expect the same from him about mine. I think his truck sounds better than mine due to the awesome staging, he thinks mine sounds better tonaly, and we both are waiting to hear SQ_MGB's. Golden attitude, please get over yourself. He's enjoying his system and competing with it. You've offered him help several times, yet he's not asked for it. I guess here come my ban! Secrets was a joke, he didn't want to share them. If you guys would hop off your equipment touting horse you'd see what is happening. Funny you claim no high dollar head units but run Linear Power. Stop being equipment rubes and instead realize it is the INSTALL that matters. Lol, no one is going to ban anyone but we will laugh.1 point

1 pointIf you want to go further in competition you need to open your mind. Currently your "secrets" aren't enough once there is real competition. Not my worry if you don't want to do better, but your golden attitude is amusing.1 point

Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
1 pointI understand when and how rears can be effective...but you don't have the processing for that. Spending the money improving your fronts will yield you way better results and scores. I am also surprised that both tweeters out of phase is the best setup. I'd play with that some more. Try ALL combinations of phase between the fronts. *possible you are hiding that you do as I am unfamiliar with the detailed specs on the LP stuff, but it doesn't seem so from your description1 point
-
Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
1 pointImpious, you meant size of your pinna. Not height. Either way spot on. Running passives (if they are the stock ones) with drivers separated that far can be a nightmare, in particular with such a high crossover point. I'd look for a more robust tweeter that you can cross lower and it will improve your staging a TON. This will require a leap to active which will also give you a large improvement and be a much better use of that extra amp that you are adding instead of the rears. I'd also try to tame some of the reflections as the Silvy dashes are terrible for making anything coherent.1 point

1 pointDefinitely can throw out some recommendations. Some pictures of your kicks, description of how you did the aiming, what went into your decision on mounting locations, processor capability you have, end goals (assume SQ from our previous discussions), what you've done for deadening so far, and so on would really help. Obviously having no rears is step 1.1 point

-1 pointsEverything in the headunit is set flat. Basic output, enexpensive unit that works great for my application. The PA2 is set flat also. there is no equalization in this system. Everything should run as it was ment to sound from the recording. The X03 is primarily used for the sub amp. My 502HV simply will not work properly without it. The compontnents in the As and kicks ... they are pretty much on their own.-1 points

-1 pointsImpious, Now this is the kind of forum I like here. thank you. Thats information on car audio I think everyone should read. Guess I just don't know how to put things into words like that. I gonna try to go back to the way it was but with minor changes and better looks. Just wish I had more money. Theres alot I want to do to this thing (rebuilds and upgrades) Just don't know where to start. SQ_MGB ... Keep your screwdrivers off my ride .... lmao .... I have 2 more Cables to get before the engine comp. is done. I'm running 2awg welding cable throughout front to rear. Some of it is done. I'll post updated pics later when I get back on track.-1 points

-1 pointshmm really? they seem to be a little less sensitive, the morels at 90.5db and the incriminators at 88db. i know that's pretty damn comparable, but i may be biased towards the morel name as well..... also, it's $20 shipping for the incriminators. but if they're a better speaker then i will definitely consider them instead.-1 points
