SSA ZCON 15 questions....
1 pointMechanical power handling goes down in large enclosures, efficiency goes up. Remember, you have a gain knob for reason, 50% gain on a 1000 watt amp does not mean 500 watts power output.1 point

1 point1 point- This Ship Has Sailed!
1 pointWow, talk about a car audio loss! Mike set the bar so high in terms of customer service, very few, SSA being one of the few, will ever get close. Mike, you will be missed as much as your stellar products, if not more so. Was it really 7 years ago I took a chance on a relatively unknown company called SoundSplinter and rolled the dice on the rl-p 12 for the wife's car? A subwoofer I still own to this day. A subwoofer, that coupled with Mike's customer service absolutely won me over. Sealed, ported, didn't matter, it produced. Then I got the first rl-i8, signed by the man himself, available for the public. A sub I still own, and use in a small, .17ft^3 net sealed box on my gaming tv/stereo set up. Everyone freaks out when they hear it, and realize it's just an 8. It, like Mike, is just that badass! Mike, I can't believe this has happened to such a great guy. I hope you get the financial side figured out, and like the other's have said before, I hope you find a way to get back into the business! We, and the business as a whole, will miss ya man! Stay in touch, my email hasn't changed! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee1 point- The SSA ZCON 18"s rebuild!
1 point- This Ship Has Sailed!
1 pointI am declaring myself intelligible for the prize, but I feel I should add my peace. This is a very sad day that I knew was coming for a while, but did not want to admit to it. Mike was and still is, one of the best people in the internet based, high end audio business. He is one of the very scant few that puts honesty and service first while realizing that it is not about massive margins made from mediocre product under over promised pretenses and fanboy hype. So let me back up a moment, Kent (mrray13), one of our very valuable long time members of SSA as was a part of how we shaped this place in the beginning, shot me a PM back in 2004 I believe. That PM essentially brought my attention to this great little brand that I knew where it was being built and I had been very familiar with what had come out of that factory. We got a hold of Mike, and come to find out he is super laid back and a great guy that was not trying to make a quick buck or push product. Once I had the chance to use Soundsplinter in my own install, I was always supportive of the great product. It is a dark day in audio when someone like Mike, has to bow out, and slimy product pushing grease ball predators are thriving. One positive piece of car audio is no longer. During a transitional stage of the SSA forums, bringing on manufacturers to the forum, (something only SoundDomain and SIN were doing at the time and look how active they are now ) Mike and SoundSplinter was a no-brainer addition. Mike was excellent at providing great info and communication even when his personal affairs were far more important. I strive to get us (SSA) to follow the standard Mike has set. Mike would never settle for a less then top end product with his logo on it. For a good while, the RL-i and RL-p was the educated choice of many, the RL-s was the choice of the nutty in the head types, but in a good way. To this day RL-i 8's fetch great money used, nearly 2 years IIRC after the last one was sold. There are some things in my audio collection that will never get sold, even in the worst of times. A signed, limited run RL-p triple slug and a BNIB RL-i 8 are apart of that going to the grave category. One last personal note, through a few rough patches in my life, Mike was always there, and that means a great deal to me. I hope people snatch up these Orphan 8's as Mike is giving them away, seriously, at this price. Mike, we wish you the best of luck and health in your future adventures, and SoundSplinter content will always remain on SSA as a reference, PM me if you would like to discuss how. Soundsplinter will always have one of the coolest logo's:1 point- intetnet brand amps.
1 pointI like DC Audio amps and wouldnt mind getting one along with Everest Sound Labs (they seem to be getting a lot of buzz lately). Im not to fond of Crescendo Audio and there customer service so I wont be using them again, I have nothing against there amps. I could care less about spending money or saving money, I buy what fits my needs (space, power, reliability, features and the companys' customer service). You cant talk about Sundowns prices, like Jacob stated plenty of times his company is not an internet based brand that sells directly to the customer. If he wanted to he could and his products would be a lot cheaper to fit some poeples needs or wallets. Not justifying his prices or his company just stating facts on why it is what it is. Dealer based companies will always have higher prices then internet based companies, no matter how much the products compare to one another. The one thing I do respect about Sundown is he was having great success with Zenon boards and then started seeing companies imitate for a cheaper price, and what does Jacob do about it. He just re-tools his amp to differentiate them, while other companies are sticking with the previous boards (where's the innovation?). Honestly who cares what the next person will run in there vehicle, I didnt know now days that I had to justify my product purchases with the next man.1 point- Under-powering an SA-12?
1 point- So who can update me on my order?
0 pointsThis: Took about 8 weeks, and is working awesomely well (I can pound 10k watts at idle on a V8 - 600-700 RPMs - without dropping to battery power). There's a REASON people wait for the products from the smaller companies. In fact, when it comes to alts, you have absolutely no choice. I can give you the name of a company that will build and Fedex you a high-output alt in less than a week, advertised as 300 amps, that will not do even 50 amps at idle. Nobody's stopping you from walking into the nearest car audio shop and buying a 1500 watt JL Audio system for 5 grand.0 points- So who can update me on my order?
0 pointsSince I started using the products prefered on these car audio forums, I realized that the majority of them are small companies that take in way more orders than they can handle.I waited 2 months just to get subs from FI and then a month to get amps.So if they do go past 3 weeks I know why.All I ask for is an update saying why they wont be able to make the deadline and when they will the item done.I think this is one of the reasons alot of people just stick to the mainstream stuff.0 points- So who can update me on my order?

-1 points- So who can update me on my order?
-1 pointsIraggi and tejcurrent were also "one-man" alt companies like Mechman and Signer, and they were "the shit" for about two years, until they started putting out shit product and then disappeared from the scene leaving hundreds of angry customers. Not saying this will be the case with Mechman and Singer, but anyone paying big bucks to a one-man company is taking a huge risk. DC Power isn't going anywhere, from what I hear they have big contracts from military customers and the like. So you have a local alt guy who makes brackets? Good for you! Want a cookie?-1 points- So who can update me on my order?
-3 pointsI should have the rear bracket I've been waiting for on Monday. I would have had it today but the waterjet shop had to replace some seals in their pump this morning so unfortunately that put our stuff off.. I may still get them today, but I won't hold my breath.. I dont like that I'm a month behind any more than anyone else does, but if I have machine issues and cant run parts, my hands are tied, and at the volume of parts we run if I'm backed up 100's of pieces I cant break down a machine, change setups, and take 3-4 hours to make one part until I'm ready to run a bunch of one-off parts in a row. I really am sorry about the wait, but your wait is about over..-3 points - Welcome to the IHoP
