  1. Just a quick heads up to all who may have questions about orders or are planning to order, we will be out of the Office 03-23 thru 03-27 for SBN. We will both have laptops with us, but will not get a ton of online time I am sure. Thanks for your understanding, and thank you for your interest and business, as we do very much appreciate it! **If you are attending SBN, just find the only two guys there with Gray Dickies SSA Shirts, we love to talk audio.
  2. WOOT I paid my taxes!
  3. I will be doing my best to tweet from the show.
  4. TC is essentially no longer around. From what I understand, the items on P-E are blow out items left from prior stock.
  5. stupid can't you spell. Read the first post by the OP, you'll get why he said that..
  6. The Sundown accepts 4 gauge inputs. Unless your threads are stripped out you shouldn't have any issues with the wire falling out.
  7. No, but in reality why do you want to tune so low in a vehicle? Cabin gain tends to add to the lower octaves. Most rap and hip hop style music is recorded around 30-35 hz.
  8. I would love to hang out during the day and see if any show up.
  9. Double sheet is of no benefit. The only thing that matters is $/lb. The CCF does nothing to block sound as it is super light (no mass, no sound blocking) but it can help by stopping two surfaces from rubbing and of course helping to isolate the MLV from the surface it is connected to. Same to address your "adhesive" question. You do not want to couple the MLV to the door as that defeats some of its purpose. Instead you want to "hang" it so that it can be isolated as much as possible but still be a barrier.
  10. I start on saturday so look out for my build log...checked out a tahoe on sunday with only 2 cvr's on a 8^3 ft box tned at 34hz and it gets loud...so im hoping my shit gets a lottle louder...
  11. 1 point
I would recommend you email Scott or Nick, see if they are willing to spill the beans
  12. Those will stop vibrations, but they are not going to significantly reduce sound transmission.....which is what he's trying to accomplish. randomwalk; You were told correct. Dynamat and other types of CLD "sound deadeners" will help reduce vibrations and resonances, but they will not significantly reduce the transmission of sound/noise. To do that, it's fairly simple; you need to block the sound with mass. The most efficient method of doing so is with MLV as you had considered. No, it's not extremely convenient but it's necessary to achieve your goal. For some photos and a sort of step-by-step on how to go about it, I would suggest reviewing this thread: http://www.soundsolu...__fromsearch__1 I would also highly recommend you contact Don @ Sound Deadener Showdown.
  13. to the forum!! You're going to love the Fi sub and you definitely got one hell of deal on it. Unless there's a problem with the Kenwood amp it should be a fine match for the sub. You're not really going to hear a difference between 800 watts and 1000 or so. The enclosure you put it in is FAR more important than the amount of power it's going to see. While I do agree that planning ahead is a must, I completely disagree with starting at the amps and subs and working your way forward. Consider this, the subs play a few frequencies from around 25hz to less than 100hz. Your highs play everything from that about 80-100hz range all the way up the scale. Unless you're building a competition rig trying to break class records, wouldn't it make more sense to start with the HU, any processing you're planning on using, sound deadening, the highs and then work your way back? Just some food for thought.
  14. In the office (200 people open space) the lights are running on constantly, very tiring to the eyes and not just mine. So yesterday I get up, turn the lights off, some fucktard turns them back on in 15 seconds. I go back and he raises his voice at me. Seems like the idiot is working all day on the PC and apparently can't see the screen without the lights on. We've got plenty of natural light and he is next to a walk-way which is lighted. After a quick argument I got the lights off. Today I proceed to turn them on an hour before heading home. In 10 seconds the same fucktard raises his head but this time he didn't say anything. Amusingly, 20 people agreed that it's way better with natural light.
  15. You need more experience because i have heard 1750wrms subs on 500wrms and they will get loud.
  16. I enjoy working away and then all your hair feels like it is standing up and you suddenly get cold and then it feels like sombody is watching you. I have learned if you start talking to the spirits they tend to enjoy your company, but they never offer to help.
  17. Woot! Getting a refund.
  18. I paid $75 for a harbor freight router, and used one of the edge guide rods to turn it into an infinitely variable (7"-20") circle jig. Maybe I need to post a video of that.
  19. I've found them to be spot on with many vehicles in our market. It's not all entertainment.
  20. Probably not known in the US but the 3.2 V6 24valve from alfa romeo. Looks great( yes the engine itself), sounds amazing and keeps on going, doesn't break down engine wise if you follow the services. A lot of engines with over 0.5 million kilometers.)
  21. Leave the amps alone. Jeez. No need to change it every 2.3 months.
