    That box is an amazing install. Also, I wouldn't use a dmm or dd1 for tuning the gains.

    If you were able to set the gains and lower the output level of the amplifier, it would be fine. I wouldn't suggest trying to apply the full 1kw per driver. How much space are you willing to sacrifice for an enclosure? It might be possible to find another driver that fits well within the allotted airspace that would provide overall better performance for an equivalent or lesser price to the SA8v2.

    Stick a single 15 or single 12 in a ported enclosure with one of the down firing power ports that polk uses and use it as a coffee table, it'l work great. You could get the suspension a bit lighter on the SSD, but in all honesty you really do not need to. I've got a BTL with 5 spiders in my HT and it sounds phenomenal. Fs has absolutely nothing to do with the frequency response at all..it's just a urban myth that online junkies ride..for some unknown reason.

    Hey, if you want to use a machine and not understand at all in anyway how to safely run equipment go for it! But when you destroy your speakers anyways you won't understand why and you'll be back to square one. Just use your brain. Don't focus on trying to be the loudest when you're listening and setting gains. Focus on minimizing distortion. You do not need a dd-1

    Just something to add: the nightshades didn't miss any notes. Perhaps the end frequency response was different then desired.

    I have a meager 2500 sqft guest house on the pavilion of my estate. Alas, I live a couple hours from Indy as well. I could take my private jet and be there in no time. If you wanted to take your car I would have to commission a cargo plane and we could parachute in. Or you could stay on my couch. It's a 2 hours away as well. Sorry to hear about your troubles Chuck. Hopefully its nothing.

    I think he's speaking of the motor since it is machined steel and the only thing that can rust. The basket is aluminum therefore will not rust. It can corrode, but if this is the case, you have a much larger problem than high humidity. Clean the rust off by mechanical means, then shoot it with some clear coat. Problem solved. I am surprised at this though as I thought they at the very least Zinc coated the motor structure.
