  1. The Meca state finals were this weekend so I decided to go check it out. The comp bug has bitten me alittle and its been fun going and seeing all the different builds. I have placed in every event so far but the nature of my build makes me a huge underdog. (Tuned low, not below window line, actually sounds good, lol jk) But its fun none the less. It almost makes me want to sponsor myself and turn my 2002 Dodge Caravan thats sitting at my office into a monster build, LOL But I did sit in a 157 blazer and that mofo was actually painful, it peaked at 44 he said and the punch of each note was quite brutal. Also sat in a minivan that was a low tuned 4th order that peaked low and that did a 154.5 at 31hz. Thats more my style and was a damn wind tunnel. I get stuck in Mod 4 going against the big dogs, lol. I did a 150.2 at 34hz at the headrest. I need to get a meter from Shizzon so I can play around at different locations, I think a 151+ at the windshield or kick is doable. But really my current setup is for demoing and music and it does that very well. This event I picked up 3rd place in Mod4 and 1st place in the show and shine, Phat truck, best rims and best paint (not sure why). Here is a pic of some trophies I have gotten at the last three events. Here is a quick vid of the 157 blazer. It has 4 18in IA DP's on 2 IA 40.1's in a 4th order. I figured I would share, Senchez was there and his Explorer was getting lots of attention, Must be that killer box he has, haha
  2. As the title states. I will be on an actual vacation for the first time in ~6 years or so. The rest of the crew will still be here at the shop holding down the fort. You can still reach Brandon and Debbie as you normally would. Some things may be delayed a bit that require my attention but most things will get done no problem.
  3. Having alittle fun behind my office on a Saturday Morning. Volume is about 3/4 since I'm just walking around at idle and not monitoring voltage although its not much a issue with this new badass alternator.
  4. i guess it was confusing the way i ended my statement, you would reverse the poliatiry on the sub that is reversed, and normally on the sub that is mounted normally, that way they are both pushing the same way and pulling the same way,
  5. if your inverting both you can either reverse the polarity on both or leave them both normally as long as they are in phase. I'd try both to see what sounds better in a particular build
  6. Is it a cap on the floor ? To do what ? Nice fully loaded wall !
  7. So I just went to a mobile food truck called Chef Tai Mobile Gourmet. I have been there a couple times before and gotten a series of sandwiches that have been really good. The guy tell me that their Wagyu burger is the best burger in town, so I try it out skeptically because another place in town is pretty damn good. HOLY FREAKING CRAP! It was the best burger that I have had. The burger was actually cooked a little under medium, the bread was great, the toppings were awesome. It was fantastic. The other kicker are their fries are made with truffle oil or something and they are freaking delicious. This is how it's described on their site,
  8. The best part of a fart is everybody else's reactions.
  9. Do as Sean suggested and figure out exactly how much airspace you're able to sacrifice, and then define your goals. You may have a wider and better selection than the SA8v2's. For example, you might be able to go with a single 12" for half the cost and obtain equal or better performance depending on airspace.
  10. The internal "gain" the amplifier applies to the signal is a fixed figure; i.e. the amp works exactly the same amount. The only thing the gain knob on the amp does is allow you to obtain full power from the amp without clipping the signal with varying levels of input voltage. I don't know who you talked to, but if you happen to run into them at competitions again...ignore any further advise they give you as they don't understand the basics. Sure, they "work" in that they do provide a higher voltage input to the amplifier. The problem is the only 2 times that's ever needed in a system is 1) if you have an unavoidable and audible amount of noise introduced into the system during the signal transfer, or 2) if the amplifier is too noisy with a higher gain setting (although this is a result of poor amplifier design and not a problem of low signal voltage). Unless you were trying to fix one of those two issues (which you weren't), then it's unnecessary and a waste of money. The reason you purchased it is exactly the reason they continue to sell; misinformation. It's not. Probably the overcurrent protection circuit is being triggered due to too much input signal for the gain setting, exactly the same thing can occur with any improperly set gain. Honestly.....sell it or see if you can return it. You don't need it, it's not helping you.
  11. Come on guys, give him a break. 6. NO POST DUMPING! If you don't like a price, item, or seller, keep it to yourself.
  12. So much motor force in one place.
