Subs are due to be delivered today! Dometags and dust cap lables, along with the brand new series name will be released soon. These subs will get proper photos etc before we release any info. We are only a few weeks out . We value Steve as a TeamSSA member, and are doing our best to keep everyone happy.2 points

Parallel wiring vs Series wiring
2 pointsIt isn't that. People get annoyed (including myself) when missinformation is posted and it is justified under the "well lets test and find out" banner. Not only does it misslead people, but it drags down this site. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with creative design, but making things up (like most of the "transmission line" enclosures, "I need clean power class D amps" and "The RMS of subwoofer is how much power it needs" for instance) doesn't help anyone and just perpetuates ignorance...2 points

Parallel wiring vs Series wiring
2 pointsAlright, I watched part of the video. Here is the problem.....his math only works if you change the impedance of the coils for each wiring method. He uses an example of the same final load, but in order for that to be possible you have to change the impedance of the coils. He went from .5ohm coils wired in series for a final 1ohm load, to 2ohm coils wired in parallel for a final 1ohm load. You aren't changing the impedance of your coils, you are changing how they are wired. You are watching that video and applying it to all cases of series/parallel wiring, such as your case of wiring the subs together and strapping or wiring each sub to it's own amp. That's not how it works. That video has zero relevance to your situation where you are simply changing the wiring of your subwoofer. I point this out because you kept talking about his math making sense. Helping to clarify to not just you but anyone else who stumbles upon this thread.2 points

Uh oh....Xcon cracked magnet
1 pointAll in good time fellas be knowledgeable that it is american made so shipping it there then basically if its broke getting a whole new one manufactured and shipped out will take almost the same build time.1 point

Parallel wiring vs Series wiring
1 pointYou are loading your question. Let me rephrase it for you and answer. Is there a difference if you apply the same power to a driver and change from series/parallel to parallel/series? The answer to that is no.1 point

Ssa dcon 12 box help
1 pointConsidering the sub displacement is .14cuft the 1.25cuft enclosure would NET 1.11cuft once the sub was installed which is pretty much right on target. Besides I don't see 5 hundredths or even a full 1 tenth of a cuft making any noticeable difference.1 point

1 pointThat's what I thought. I bought an Icon about 6 months ago and it took awhile to get and that subwoofer was a beast. I cant wait to hear the Xcon.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
Far from thousands of people are waiting to see what happens with your build. Lets be honest here. I'm sure some people are sitting, waiting, crying until it happens, but not that many. ok maybe not a thousand. But this build log alone gets over 1000 hits a week. You think its the same 3 people coming in 350 times a week? GTFO1 point- SO PUMPED!
1 pointNegative good buddy. Rich kills a diesel. The more fuel, the higher the exhaust gas temperature. And the more smoke. You add boost when you want to lower EGT and burn more fuel.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

1 pointEach amp listed will be fine, subs rms is not a main factor when deciding on a sub amp. Extra wattage wont be heard. Nice to have extra in case you want to upgrade. Even if you upgrade 100-500 watts wont be audible. If your not doubling power or competing its not worth it.1 point- Happy Birthday mrray13

Thanks man!! I really appreciate it. I know I wish I found this forum a while ago too! Can you give me links or the model names, so I can look them up more in depth? This is what I bought and am happy with http://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LC2I/AudioControl-LC2i.html?tp=2001 Unfortunately they tend to hype their products. They are still great quality, but their analog EQs (which this ISN"T) are getting out dated and they can be pricey. Passive LOCs are cheaper than I thought with most being less than $20. I wouldn't necessarily buy from Crutchfield unless their price was competitive, but they do provide good info and have awesome customer service. Most of the guys on this forum have upgraded HUs and don't need LOCs, but you might want to make a new thread.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
If they or you feel I'm biting the hand that feeds me then ill take my business elsewhere. I do get team pricing to promote the brand but its hard when thousands of people are watching to see what happens. Its hard to say how ssa feels since they have not chimed in, publicly or privately. There are plenty of brands out there, I chose to stay with ssa for a reason.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
Damn it....FML!! I'm definitely an ass man I'll just be happy for you when they come so you can attack the Camaro again. I'm like a dope fiend waiting on my pic fix!!!1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
Are you going to post some pictures? Apparently we can't see ass shots, but I'll be happy with anything that we can see. What's so happy about looking at a sub with no ass shots? The sub will probably resemble other SSA subs if pictures are just taking of the cone and dustcap.1 point- stiff spider on 18'' fi btl recone

Yes . If you bought the BTL new you should know , it will loosen up with playing. Fi's box recommendation will work just fine.1 point- 4th order hummer h2 8 nightshade 15's
Very sweet man! You will find there are but a few of us on here who go for the big bass. lol Most keep to smaller, amazing sounding installs. 1 pointI'm a human heater too. During winter it's 55-58F in my room and I sleep in boxers and a t-shirt and only have one blanket. It's pretty fun to get into the office and my hands are burning. Granted I only pedal 10 minutes in the cold but last winter it was down to -5F in the morning In college I relied only on my bike as a form of transportation and pretty much wore a sweatshirt and a down vest even when it was down near -40C. I got funny looks. dam, i get funny looks for wearing shorts on campus when its only 32F. guess its relative to where you live. I get funny looks period.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

I know my .02 is most unneeded here, yet, I need to say there is a aspect that has been over looked within these hasty remarks, one, imo, we as enthusiast and competitors must take in consideration..... The inner fire of wanting your dream to move forward, this man, different than us in some ways, has that exact same drive. So fueled, it indeed runs over even him at times, fellas, this is how we come to see these level of builds....a drive to push forward.....amplified! I have seen him in person, pushing forward, struggling to grasp what he sees on the horizon of his next goal...the impatience of waiting for such a long spell, should be understood by us all. We all have overly watched a tracking number anxiously....at some point, with high hopes. I did not say all his opionions should be our own, just as much as I look back, the short window I had, showed me a person who is passionate about life, to push forward, like I feel we all do. Something hard to see in written threads, believe me, the dollar difference is not a issue, though impressive what is on the table, it only should represent the willingness to move up and forward. I hope fate turns, and offers this shackled champ an opportunity to run again, regardless of what cloke he may don. To show all, why he was so anxious to move forward. Keep your head up Steve.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks

don't play me like a dumbass. i know whats going on and i don't put my shit in the ihop for anybody, but me really. if you read my post you would realize that. i don't post anything about builds or anything like that because i know that people would always give me shit about the choices i make. it's always happened that way. you could always be louder, sound better, have a better install and better vehicle than they do and they always talk shit. i'll keep everything to myself so i don't have to hear the haters1 point- FS: Brand New JBL GTO1004 $85
