I wouldn't put anything in a category with the W7. It's just in it's own world, still a decade after it's introduction. Now, there are many other subs capable of contending with it and some outperforming it depending on how you want to measure it. With that being said, I don't see a reason not to include the Icon here aside from the fact that it does not have the full displacement potential of the Havoc and W7, but that will be negligible when listening. A mic may pic it up, but that is pointless unless speaking in terms of SPL measurements which are themselves pointless in determining the worthiness of a driver for anything other that SPL competition.

I would choose the sundown over the r/f simply because of the variable ssf. The aq is also a good buy.

If they are the same price I would go with the Focal. I don't believe it would sound any "better" or necessarily perform any "better" than the Alpine, but given their relative MSRP price point differences I would suspect the Focal might use better quality parts and/or design so it *could* possibly last a little longer. As M5 pointed out will hold better resale value and the top mounted controls as Aaron pointed out are also a possible plus for the Focal.

Got to play just for a second with the car today. Only thing to report as of now is that they play music better than the zcons. Not real peaky like the zcons. I only have 1 7.5k installed right now so I can't say much for numbers. Maybe next weekend ill have some more time.

The Xcon would be another viable option, very great woofer that sounds good.
