The forum just got a major software upgrade, you should find it's running faster, smoother etc... I have not updated the current skins or anything, so you will see alot of visual bugs until that is complete. Please bare with us during this time.

i dont follow your logic. your saying that my box ( a jack hammer) is the best place for an amp. im going to try something else, it sould work much better.. . maybe some VLM would help under the mounting surface. I'm not saying your box is built wrong because I don't know. But if you make the top as strong as the front baffle that would be the best place for an amp. Well you can't with nothing hooked up right now but you should try a water bottle test sometime. I can bounce a half full water bottle off a dumpster from 30 ft away, and at the same time I can carry that same water bottle over and put up against my baffle while full tilt and there is hardly a ripple. If the top of that box is as strong as the baffle you won't find a better place to mount it. I will stand behind that, don't believe me. Grab a half bottle of water and start placing it around till you find the best place. If its Not your box, rebuild.
  8. I believe we will take this off your hands for momma Chop's ride. I will get with you shortly.
  9. You will love this decision! Great to hear!

I would add another layer of wood on top of the box and try again. The box honestly should be the strongest and most stable place in that car. I don't see you finding a more stable place unless you have room for a cushion surface. If you mount the amp on a board first, then mount that board on top of a think piece of foam that may work if you have the space.
  11. Awesome news chuck! Who's post is above yours? Is there a missed punch line there?
  12. I just wrote a lengthy post spilling all the details I could about home protection and firearms and decided to delete it. If you want to know more, I will get into it, but getting caught up on equipment and theory is no good. Buy a quality firearm like the M&P, and a truckfull of ammo and shoot the shit out of it. That is the most important.
  13. Buy what you can afford to shoot, she is comfortable shooting, and enjoys to shoot. It doesn't do a damn bit of good if you are afraid to shoot the ting, don't know what you are doing, and can't hit shit.
  14. Freakin Awesome! Plus Mark signed it!
  15. no need to amp the rear speakers. i'm not sticking your list, that's ridiculous. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_m94_i26_boston-acoustics-2-channel-amplifiers.html 2200 on the sub and either a 2200 or 2150 on the front speakers. personally i'd sell the front speakers and buy a set of comps.
  16. So yesterday I recieved the 250 amp Singer alt and installed it right away. Was easier than I expected, wow I used to get some light dimming with 500 rms on my d2700 but just got my Crescendo BC2000D wired up to one ohm and another small highs amp and have no dimming at all even cranked at idle. One thing I was surprised is that going from 100rms each sub to around 1000 each sub barely gained any output, just made the bass hit a lot tighter. The subs sound amazing now though. Alt installed with new shorter belt Also my dad got a new truck this weekend.
  17. Finally got some pics, It all needs a good cleaning up but didnt want to go crazy becuase I still have a different amp coming and will make it all pretty once I get that in. Not happy with the finish on the baffle so Ill be changing that but the rockguard came out nice, was a tight fit, have to take out door panel to get it in.
  18. Thanks Aaron, Yes they are sweet subs, I love them so far. My truck on the other hand, not so much.

THIS IS NOT SMD. your SMD ways will NOT fit in here,.. AGAIN.. .if you want to learn READ. and stop being so quick to give your opnion nothing " rich" about his build.... its simply called being a GROWN MAN. you work hard you save and you play hard... i simply like to play in other ways then audio your so stuck on $ of woofer... but you have to think about it.... once you get into this game you start buying shit slowly.. and when you WANT BIGGER AND BETTER shit.. then you sell what you have and add a few bucks to it..... and BOOM you have high end shit.... its all in how you work your jelly, and i can tell you me and steve are alike in many ways, and were pretty good at working jam!
  21. Hi 99 Oldsmobile Alero Yellow optima up front and one in the rear Powerbastards 220amp alt knu 1/0gauge (+ and -) front to back, big3 as of today. no fuses. problem persists Im getting a drop from 14.4 to as low as 13.2 when I bring the car to a stop Sometimes it stays at 14.4 when I stop but most of time it dont 13.2 is about as low as it gets, its random and sometimes doesnt drop at all I only get this reading from the rear battery I dont have any of my amps connected, no sound, still a drop The rear battery is grounded to the negative in the front I have also tried grounding the rear battery to the point under the seatbelt bolt that i have used before (no luck) The front battery is grounded to some metal thing thats bolted to the side of the engine Im sorry I cant be more specific The mechanics who put my alternator on made that the front batt negative ground They are good so Im gonna assume thats a legit spot When I start the car I get a 15-15.2V reading but Im just assuming thats from the freezing weather reducing resistance Any ideas?
