  1. People don't hate on 4th orders. People hate on idiots who refer to bandpasses 4th orders. A simple vented enclosure is a 4th order. Also, the bandpass is pretty pointless as you can accomplish the same goal with a simple 4th order vented enclosure, yet so many people THINK they are awesome and sound so much better and "pound so hard.". The only time a bandpass would be benficial is if you had no crossover and needed to control response via enclosure. In essence, the only reasons to use a bandpass enclosure is to "look cool" or if you have no crossover(s).
  2. I wish her ass was running a kissing booth.
  3. Guys who have facebook, make sure you share it on there also.
  4. You can try a heat gun, I don't think you will have much luck and if you use another adhesive the only place I would use it would be the floor. I did give Greg some info to give you for deadening the FJ.
  5. So it's been a few weeks! A wonderful few weeks may I add Before the DCON's i ran the SA's; and yes, I've noticed a difference in output. That being said, I like the DCON's more. And it's not just because they are easier on my wallet either. If the SA's and DCON's were the same price and required the same power and electrical goodies I would still buy the DCON's. I find the DCON's to be much more well rounded. I can go from listening to Jay-Z to Metallica and not be bothered by the massive difference in bass output between the two. The DCON's handle the <80hz spectrum much better than the SA's. And don't get me wrong. The DCON's still get nasty loud. I took a few videos but I really hate how they turned out so I'll take some more soon and post them here. Another happy customer!
  6. What you are measuring with your DVM is DCR. DCR is the speakers impedance at rest. The advertised impedance of a speaker (ie 4 ohms) is an average over a range of frequencies. You measured 0.8 ohms which is accurate for a 0.5-1.0 ohm load at the amp. Based on t/s specs of the drivers you purchased and the wiring configuration you are using, 0.5 ohms should be the minimum impedance at your amplifier. A quick test for a DVM is to touch both probes together when in resistance mode. The display should be 0.00 (or to whatever decimal place it is).
  7. Awe schucks fellas, thanks for all the support. You guys are makin' me blush. A big thanks to the whole SSA family. Thanks for coming together on Facebook to support a fellow member and to support Fi Car Audio. Cheers to all.
  8. Just run the single amp, have to match everything on the two amps, and after rising and such none of it will ever be .5 ohms. Won't notice the difference in powers anyways.

many times on chrome that i know so far, embedded videos do not fit within the borders of the forum layout.
  10. I just wanted to take a second and go a different direction in this thread. I know some of you have been waiting a while on your orders and even at my age its hard to have patience waiting for something so awesome(xcons in my case). That being said, I know hard Aaron and Mark work to make sure they have top notch products and unparalleled customer service. considering how many times a day they get questions and comments I think they do a FANTASTIC job of handling everything. Normally it doesn't take so long but the world is seeing what SSA and being hand crafted in the USA is all about which in my humble opinion is being the best which explains all the orders they are having to fill. I for one am glad to wait on something so fantastic. Btw i am under the impression that xcons are now in production So here is to SSA and being a part of an awesome audio family!!

  14. 4th time replying to this damn thing lol, shit better work this time. Yes. Yes. Yes. Duals this year, quad next. MUCH better lol. Date I say it can handle more : peepwall:Is it getting an acutal 5500w now and wanting more?! Dang bro that makes me want to become evil......... No its not taking the whole 5500 watts as amps are not 100% efficient, you have to figure out the rise in its current enclosure and etc. stfu jay @frogcase2002, I will be adding more power soon.
  15. Just found this guy's channel on youtube. Just thought it would be interesting to look at. As there isn't many ZED builds here on the forum.
  16. I've not had a chance to do all the numbers yet, but just from what I see on the intended port length and the measurements you have on the drawing the port is too short. Here after a few I can get my laptop out and plug thru the numbers to verify everything else.

This is the model that has the 3 40 amp blade fuses on it. I was wondering if this amp will do it's rated power of 2000 rms @ a 1 ohm load. Of course I know this is at 14..4 volts just wondering if this amp will do it or not??? I mean the amp does take 1/0 gauge wire and I'm thinking it will draw at least 180 amps em I wrong to think this is true??? Thanks for information in advance and the help... Hawk
