  1. So some back story I bought the hatch back my senior year of highschool with the intentions of making a loud daily driver setup and ended up getting real involved with build car mainly Hondas. I always helped with other builds but was never able to do what I wanted to mine until now. I did end up getting my setup together as far as audio but the hatch was never what I really wanted it to be. Recently I have become a single man and around the same time I was promoted at work and now make enough to redo my hatch while still providing for my two daughters. Basically I am doing this now because I finally can!! I have been out of the scene entierly too long and I am back now. Hope some of you around here remeber me haha. Keep in mind I have done everything to this car with my own two hands. I has never seen a shop!!! So here we go I cant find my old build on here but I will start fresh here. I have gone through 4 engines and now have decided I want reliability so this is the tear down. While I had the motor out and at the machine shop I wanted to liven up my engine bay. I was set on painting it a light tan and found out someone close to me had been diagnoised with breast cancer and decided what the hell pink it is.! Kinda of a dedication kind of deal. I got to work here are some pics. This above was the tear down after I removed the engine. I dont have any picture of it but I completely tore down the ending I have spun a bearing in and it is currently at the machine shop. More on that later this week. After hours of sanding and prep work. At this point I had also done a full wire tuck re-routing all the headlight wiring, turn signals, ac, brake fluid level sensor, engine harness wiring as well as the whole engine harness, and wiper motor wiring has all been taken out of sight and yes everything is still completly functional. Preping and shooting her with primer. It is a pain trust me fingers were raw by the end of the night. Holy batman pink! My nieghboor is a painter and helped me shoot the actaul paint it self Lots of fun cant wait to do the exterior!!! here I put the bumper headlights and fenders on, I already have new replacements for them but I am keeping them off until I paint the exterior in a month or two. This is everything that will be under the hood minus engine and tranny everything else is relocated or hidden. Still need to remove the brake booster and paint it gloss black. It is in horrible shape at the moment. I am also going to re-route all the brake lines and position the prop valve in the interior of the car, the battery is relocated to the rear of the car now and the under the hood fuse box has been relocated under the dash. Ill get pics of that when I start messing with the interior some more. As of now I am waiting to pick up the Block which is a D16y8. I had it bored and shot peened the rods with arp studs pressed on and resized, it also has been jet cleaned, decked and honed. I already have my master rebuild kit in the garage as well as brand new pistons, water pump, oil pump, and every single gasket. The rotating assembly was also balances as this is going to be TURBO charged after break in.!!! I promise pics of the engine as soon as I get it from the maching shop and I will also take pictures as I assemble it. MARK I need a pink SSA sticker for the Firewall. I will also be getting breast cancer awareness banners air brushed onto the shock towers!!! Things I have done that I dont have pictures of Integra GSR rear disk break setup already installed with sway bar All new bushing in the suspension New ball joints New inner and outer Tie rods New pads rotors and calipers all the way around Steel braided brake lines Skunk2 adjustable coil overs Tockico blue stuts Front and Rear adjustable camber kits Front Sway bar kit Rear beaks tie bar Full dash swap All the interior has been changed to black interior minus the rear hatch plastics. I am still trying to find decent ones. I also have new carpet for it that I have not installed 00 si front seats Integra rear seats I promise picture of all this as I go through this build. Plan is to have the car back on the road in about 3 weeks as this is my daily driver. So when it comes to audio muahahhahahahahaha. I have everything except the tweeters I want. My setup consist of 2 Icon 12s 1 Audio pipe 3kd 1 Kicker 400.4 dx I belive is the modle number 4 AA Audio Carbon 7in mids Two fiberglassed kick pods and two kicker Tweets all of it has been pulled out of the car while I redo the interior This was when I made the kick pods about a year ago. Excuse the dash it is long gone now. . And here she is a few years ago I did a photoshoot with her in it. She needs some body work now lol!
  2. and thats why i think its a bad idea for nendo to advertise thair amps this way.. as being .5 stable
  3. Really??? Are the rest of us total assholes? J Why ask a rhetorical question?
  4. The amp is a single channel. I has a few extra places to stick wires, but there aren't any extra channels. you can't bridged, strap or do anything else with a single amplifier. They put what looks like extra channels there to make it easier for you to get a bunch of wires hooked up without cramming them into a single set of holes. Do not buy CCA ever. It is a marketing gimmick. It is lower performing (greatly) to the same awg copper. Additionally, aluminum in any form is inferior to copper in all aspects electrical. The amount of copper plating on the individual strands is there for color appearance more than anything... Buy welding cable, it is better quality to price ratio than any car audio branded cable. You don't need to fuse the - side, one fuse blows in the circuit, the whole circuit stops current flow.
  5. Why did y'all ban SPL, now we all have to deal with SQ
  6. I was actually enjoying this thread.. damn you guys. Messin up all the fun
  7. probably best to wire the subs to 2ohm final load at the amp. if you're confused on how subs are hooked up then i doubt you'll safely run things at 0.5ohm.
  8. I don't think it gets any better than this... I was looking over SMD a while ago to see if i could see any pointless threads today and came across this that is just terrible.. We all know the CC-1 is completely pointless.. A $10 DMM can do the exact same thing it can do so here we go.. Someone's CC-1 is not "lighting up" at all, lol. so the user is lost.. Following comments to troubleshoot- Do you have a DMM? Yes. Use it to start probing this and that to locate the problem.. So, if the user is intelligent enough(like in elementary school) to know how to use a DMM to probe things.. then why is the CC-1 being used? I just can't take it anymore.. Just hilarious.
  9. Almost everyone who posted on my BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM topic were vendors and people who work for SSA... All you need to do is read their profiles to see that... They are trying spread misinformation to protect their product and make it sound better then it is. I would post pictures of all profiles but that would take a while... Here are a few examples...LMAO....how did I miss this.....I work for SSA now ?? Why didn't anyone tell me ? Aaron where's my damn paycheck !!!
  10. 1 point
Thanks to all that have chimed in on this one. I agree that our lead times have been excessive and are truly sorry for the delays. Just when we dig out of one delay we get right back into another. The current issues are multiple and are being worked through as rapidly as possible. Customers are currently being contacted about delays via phone (or email if messages are left). Now to address the overall issues: Adding employees... 2 new ones over the past month. Neither of which are office staff and are not currently building drivers. It is impossible to find skilled staff that can simply sit down and a build table and go. New staff is handling other aspects of production besides building drivers. They are already alleviating some back up. Need more machines... we just purchased another hydrolathe and will be receiving it later next week. While not an instant cure, it will go onto the shop floor and help our other massively overburdened hydrolathe once it is set up and dialed in. (These are the task specific lathes that run the profiles of all back plates and top plates) Our current one runs non-stop and is backed up. Need more customer service... Again, not the easiest of tasks. We have people tell us simply to hire teens to handle email and phones. Having this approach in the past set us up for significant issues. Only some of the emails are straight forward and can be handled by a tracking number or simple confirmation. Most emails entail something tech related as well and then need to be sent to someone that can handle them. The overall customer service need is for skilled audio industry individuals and not just a warm body. We are working on this one as well. Implementing a new email system will help keep track of emails/tasks that will let everyone quickly know if it can be answered by anyone or if it needs staff with a specific skill set. Seasonal... for us this is normally a busy time, but internationally as well as domestically we have be hit by massive orders. It seems that distributors have really upped the orders and we didn't see this coming. As Fi customers, distributors get put into line with everyone else, but when there turn comes... its a big turn. OEM... while most do not know, we do manufacturing for other companies as well. This normally isnt as big of an issue as we schedule most OEM runs ahead of time and can shuffle them around some when needed. But, OEM has exploded for some of our companies as well and when their turn comes, it takes a toll on the scheduling board. We have seen this coming and are working with our customers on long term solutions for their needs. This will greatly ease the increasing demand from our long term OEM customers keeping the Fi customers rolling along smoothly. And there are other issues that add up... I truly appreciate our customers patience for a quality US manufactured sub. It would be a simple solution to get speakers made in China or to have steel made overseas, but it truly goes against what I believe in (in doing as much work in house and supporting the US economy through manufacturing). In spite of this we are doing everything we physically can to up our efficiency and lower our lead times. I am disappointed too... but look at this as an opportunity to dial in our processes and streamline things for the long term. We are working hard in the meantime to get things back to our normal 10-15 business day lead time (and then back to the older 7-10 day time). Again, I do share your frustration, but thank you whole heartedly for putting your faith in us and our products. Thanks, Scott
  11. Ughh it was 96 at my house two days ago. We skip spring here.
  12. I have 12 diesel trucks.... all of them break down. I have Cats, a Detroit, Internationals - Powertsoke, and Duramax's. My Duramax's have had the worst injector problem out of all of them, just terrible honestly. International has the worst computer or electronic issues and nickel and dime you to death, the Cats have been best but once they get blow by its over with. No repairing that. All of them cost money to run. I could go get a new diesel truck when I want, nothing out there wants me to replace my truck right now. The new Fords are the best looking HD truck on the road right now IMO. The new Dodges absolutely suck ass in Fuel Mileage, the Chevys are just ugly and I don't want one. I feel like the old 5.9 inline 6 Dodge could be one of the best motors but they had issues too and needed money put into certain areas to make them that way too, problem is the trucks are just butt ass ugly.
  13. buy HID kit and ur lights wont dim at all
  14. Maybe that's why this forum is dead, that's not advertising he didn't once mention where to buy them, the price or anything. All he did was show some videos of some subs, the owner would get nothing from advertising on this as it is one of the deadest forums there is,beside Soundpressure. If people can't post vids of other subs, then that's just weak,my 2 cents. Did I edit his post? No. Don't dare call my site weak, if you have spent any real time on here, you will see there are videos EVERYWHERE on this forum, regardless of brand. The way the links were posted before the initial post was edited by the OP, and email address, was exactly like many other brands that have sent one of their minions to post up info so it does not look like free advertising. I am not saying rushrun did that, just that it looks exactly like what I have seen many times in the past, and due to SSA being a busy and popular board, it happens consistently enough. Don't take this the wrong way, but are you feeling ok? SSA is steady year in and and year out, so many sub-par copy-cat forums have come and gone over the years. Every year, SSA continues to grow in traffic and member base. SSA may not have the frenetic pointless traffic of other sites that are filled with kiddies that are in pissing contests, but SSA is stocked full with quality topics, real information, industry people, and people who have a clue what they are talking about due to experience. Just because SSA does not have 15 topics a day asking W7 vs Type-R, or will this hit 155db's or countless posts of "You want DC? I got you bro!", or numerous other examples of wastes of audio internet space, does not mean in the slightest that this site is slow. Take a peak in how many sections we have, how spread out the traffic is, and notice how many posts are centralized in singular topics. No forum that is steaming forward towards 1,000,000 posts could ever be called slow, especially one that has such a centralized focus. (not to mention Mark borked up the site a few years back, during an update and we lost some 70k worth of posts)

  16. So, been out of Car Audio for a bit, been wanting to put another small system in, every time something seems to come up.. So I'm trying again... Vehicle: 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer So far I have the following... Pioneer Head unit, Polk Separates in all 4 doors. Parts I have acquired: Sundown 2000D (these Sundowns are are few years old But BNIB) (Needs 200 Amp Ext Fuse) Sundown 125.4 (fuse 30x2) 15" FI BTL (Same with the FI Sub, BNIB) I would like to figure out what all exactly I need to do get and do so the two Amps have plenty of power. No Blinking lights, or any power problems... I was thinking, Update front Batt (not sure what) Mechman Alt (not sure which one) Big 3 Two Fused Runs of 0/1 to rear 1 or More Batts (the less room the better) (Was thinking an XS d6500) Some kinda Distro/Buss Bar setup to connect the two amps... I don't really see adding more amps or devices to this system for the foreseeable future I can wire stuff up, but I have Zero box building skills, so unless someone has other recommendations, I'm thinking about a Pre-made Fatboxusa Box... http://www.fatboxusa...losure-box.html I know most folks here frown on pre-made Enclosures, but I'm not looking at doing car shows, comps or to show off, I just want a fairly banging system, without going in 20K.... In a year or so, when I get a lot more credit cards paid off, I'd like to re-do a much bigger system in a secondary vehicle...
  17. Got this on my order status. "Manual Verification Required" I think this means they want an email from my account to verify purchase so that's what I did. Said take my money and yes please build it and I can't wait to get it. This what Fi wanted? please let me know thnx and God this wait will hurt lol order # 1503
