    Any one else smell that?
  2. @ tuning DD-1 works fine, if you use it right. Not setting your gains with -15.... Maybe if you listen to the tone that you set it with and nothing else...

So I finally got some actual progress! The interior is almost completely pulled out, Got some sound deadener down, the stock head unit out and the new Alpine in. I hooked a PAC-TR7 up and it works perfect. No putting the car in park, pulling the hand break twice and holding the foot brake just to make a change to the settings or change in destination on the GPS... annnnndddddddd I can play dvd's. I didn't take alot of pictures, but here's a few. Interior pulled and stuffed in the trunk for the night Dash ripped apart, stock head unit still in. Apline INE-Z928HD in and playing Les Mis for my girlfriend. The picture on the screen is very good, the sun was messing with my camera, so it looks like ass in these pics.
  4. looks to be another happy customer. Evils are awesome, can't say it enough.
  5. Hi I am working on a school project showing the most extreme end of car audio. Meaning not your basic radio and door speakers. I will be covering everything from the difference in products and competitions. The time limit is 8 minutes to present so I will not be going into fiber glassing or anything like that. What I need is some file videos of some competitions and loud cars in action. If you know of any legit place I can download videos from to edit for my project, I would love some help and be very thankful! Youtube would be perfect, but i dont know about downloading from there. I was thinking of using something like hypercam but I could never record the sound whenever I tried to do that in the past.
  6. Well of course it will get warm, silly. It's a loudspeaker. 99% of the power you put into it is dissipated as heat.
  7. its hard to find i good builder for trucks so im almost limited to the four 8's with the custom enclosure or two ported 10's in a prefab..sucks right? lol
  8. Pimpin' ! I put the summer wheels on last weekend. It looks like an older car with chrome on the center caps
  9. Summer sneakers on
  10. Looks good, jealous of the air tools.
  11. It was time to clean the 4runner up and put the summer tires on.
  12. Peanut butter jelly time! Great news. I bet you are about to celebrate with some petroleum jelly yourself huh? Thanks for the tip I used a little wd40 and then jelly. I wanted to clean them off a bit as they were pretty dirty and didn't want to rub debris into the injector while applying the jelly. Oh Ryan, once I got the rings on the right part the rail slid on like a just right vagina. Barely any pressure needed.
  13. I have a pair of 18s with those motors for my H/T.
  14. lol.. i hope this wasn't an advantageous suggestion in the view of the OP.. I would fall dead right now. did you like that shizzon
  15. One of the best motors ever designed...
  16. Subs do not "handle" an ohm load. If you are getting that amp order two d1 ICON's and wire them to 1 ohm.
  17. No that is not correct. You don't even have enough electrical to run at 2 ohms, let alone .5. Trust me, you need to do more research. And there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to run 5k+ to two q's.
  18. That last spark plug would just not go in. It was like there was something in the way just stopping it. Craziest thing ever. Threads looked good. But it just wouldn't do it..... The old spark plug had jumped back in the hole and tightened itself when I had to make a call. I know I took it out so it must have either been a really commited plug or someone snuck up and put it back in while I wasn't looking.
  19. The plot in porn is shitty......they need to invest a little in the acting. J
  20. where did it say 3? It didn't I failed at reading.
  21. I had a sundown e12 and it slammed. Didn't sound that great though but it took abuse. The dcs sound way better but can't take power

    nice Phatty!!!! I like it
  23. How to make the most of a prosthetic. J Second best. That sniper guy wins at everything.
  24. Meh... 4th stage cancer couldn't kill this old man. I was supposed to be dead 3 1/2 years ago. Don't sweat it.
  25. A few updates: car was repainted the factory color and suspension work is done. After paint: After suspension work, the h&r springs claim a 1.3" drop from factory. I can definitely tell the front is lower, the rear end is slightly higher than before because it was sagging when I bought the car. It is an amazing difference. Feels like a Benz again.
  26. My explanation was VERY simple, although not technically correct. You guys can argue about math all you want but still four 8's have more cone area than two tens no matter what end of story. You guys are just math nerds.
  27. Depends on what 10s he buys. Wrong, so wrong. Lol basic math people! And like Sean said, using the SD is the best way to compare. who is Sean and you guys are too technical. four 8's have more cone area than two 10's. idc if theyre made out of cardboard with a 3 foot long driver.

  29. That is NOT how you measure cone area, not even close.Pi*R*R or for an 8 - 4*4*Pi. Of course that is WRONG too. It is just more right than what you posted. Using the Sd from the drivers is what you need to do. A big surround eats way more into an 8 than a 10. I'd expect the Sd of an 8 to be around 0.02 and the 10 a little bigger than 0.03 (both in meter squared) u been here too much for too long No, your just pissed because you are new here. I can tell your profile pic is not yours... pissed? lol. I said that because he said I'm wrong then said he's wrong too, then never gave any good information. Regardless of how I measured cone area, the 8's have more than the 10's. So you guys can attack my PROFILE PIC (not avatar) it's cool nolifers haha. And obviously the picture is not mine, and I never said it was, but you should be able to tell that from the business cards all in the weather strip.

  31. Its a five star audio 15 champion series. five star audio is a family owned cleveland ohio company, that started in 1990. I think it has a 3in vc, 700rms. phone number I believe.. to confirm specs. if it works, not sure.. 216 475-5868 edit: Five Star Audio 12 Champion Series Specs: 2200w max, 900w rms, Dual 4 ohm, 200oz. Magnet, 3" voice coil since its the same series probably the same specs.
  32. I would put your low pass around 80 or 90 . That's one thing thats taking volts having it up so high. Also you should probley turn your bass boost all the way down ( cant believe know one said that yet lol) both of them things should help....... also I would do a ground from batt to your motor. And make sure all other grounds are grinded down really good and tightened good

There is a huge difference between attaching a bunch of magnets to a piece of steel vs. engineering exactly what is necessary while being superior at the same time.

Small update: I decided to make an amp rack. I angled it 35 degrees, and I think it made a huge difference in how it looks back there.

Thanks handman. Everything I have heard from people who have the XCONs is great! I haven't heard the sub in person yet, but I have been told if you want a bad-ass sub that will get low, loud and still sound good, you can't go wrong with the XCON.
  37. Me and my buddies were messing around welding and wiring two horn voice speakers together Sharing the mania!! Looks like something out of the haunt... little video http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/sgunnem/media/VID_20130429_192648_zpsff6226e9.mp4.html

Hi I'm Sean. I joined because SSA has good products and I want to see what else is coming since the Evil release. I want to get some xcons or maybe something better when I get the coin.
  39. I'm sure you guys have seen this 6 dcon 15" walled doing 147.5 on music but if you haven't, then you now have proof the dcon will get the job done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4bTIw6eXrA
  40. 8 X 4 = 32 10 x 2 = 20 8" wins the cone area fight. If you can stretch your budget a little more, I have seen 2 sundown 8" do a 146 on music.
