1. it really isnt enough weight to matter. plan on 40-50lbs for each of those woofers.

Fuckin sweet. I tricked you all!
3. Apparently when I reply to an email with something along the lines of this: The factory is a little backed up due to the huge spring rush. They are working as fast as they can with out sacrificing quality. As soon as we have an update, we will update your order status. It means email me back everyday asking the same question on order status.
4. Hehehe... he said oil nut. I have snapOn's version of this http://www.toolking.com/performance-w84008-compact-oxygen-sensor-socket-wrench?CAWELAID=1803462577&catargetid=1436452153&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CNvx3YHhhLcCFdCZ4AodzFcAgQ Awesome tool Speaking of awesome tools...
5. For $90? I think if it's temporary anyway then who cares what they sound like or how good they perform. You're not planning on them being permanent in any way so why would you want to know what anyone's opinion of them would be? Aside from that, why 5.25"? Why not get them the same size (basic) size as the speakers you're planning to use so you don't have to do anything special to go from one to the other? That's my thought, sell 'em when you're done with 'em and forget it. On another note, why are you using those PWX speakers anyway? There are much better options for midbass drivers out there.
6. frequency response 40hz-22khz, lmao... i bet they're complete shit. what are you trying to do?
7. Thanks for doing what you do man, I know that I couldn't handle it.
8. old thread I know SSA xcon if your not stuck on the choices you listed
9. Use what you have to first understand what you want better.

This means listen to each driver independently. Maximize that. Then start adding pairs. ie, both tweets is one pair, the tweet & mid from one side is another, and so on.

Understand what they do on music and on tones and then start to decide what you are missing and what'd you should fix. This will lead you down the right path of not wasting tons of dough.

Of course, I guarantee you'll come to the same conclusion Brad did. You have the drivers, the processing, the amp so run what you have active first applying what you learn above and take it a step better. Then you'll actually be able to shop for drivers with a goal of improving something so the purpose will end up being one that will be not only an improvement but a good learning experience.

if you find some ones post very helpful and factual then +1 it .... if its full of shit or myth then -1 it. but PLEASE PLEASE allways keep emoation out of it. .. too many times people -1 post because they are butt hurt that is not a butt hurt button
11. Am I supposed to feel bad? Because I dont. You asked a question and I answered. There is nothing personal to my response, so why are you giving up? Do you think a cheap set of speakers strapped to your head will sound good? Go for it. I suggested bookshelf speakers because at least there would be some design involved and trial/error. It would get your mind moving and be much more rewarding in the end. Hell if you'd be willing to post a small build log on here, I'll donate a pair of full range speakers for your project.
12. i happen to have the hcca D5000.1 if you want it call me at 210-373-4856 got it on a trade and would be willing to let it go cheap.
13. You have to unplug it, the slide the box end over.
14. That is NOT how you measure cone area, not even close.Pi*R*R or for an 8 - 4*4*Pi. Of course that is WRONG too. It is just more right than what you posted. Using the Sd from the drivers is what you need to do. A big surround eats way more into an 8 than a 10. I'd expect the Sd of an 8 to be around 0.02 and the 10 a little bigger than 0.03 (both in meter squared) u been here too much for too long
15. That is NOT how you measure cone area, not even close.Pi*R*R or for an 8 - 4*4*Pi. Of course that is WRONG too. It is just more right than what you posted. I'd expect the Sd of an 8 to be around 0.02 and the 10 a little bigger than 0.03 (both in meter squared) u been here too much for too long No, your just pissed because you are new here. I can tell your profile pic is not yours... pissed? lol. I said that because he said I'm wrong then said he's wrong too, then never gave any good information. Regardless of how I measured cone area, the 8's have more than the 10's. So you guys can attack my PROFILE PIC (not avatar) it's cool nolifers haha. And obviously the picture is not mine, and I never said it was, but you should be able to tell that from the business cards all in the weather strip.
16. So your answer is USA labor and quality. Yea that is exactly what the OP asks for.... How about what specifically with the quality? Is the basket machined a certain way with special coatings? Is the surround made of some high quality super rubber that most subs do not use? Is it because of the way the voice coil is put together? does that take more time? Those would be better questions to answer instead of "because things cost more in the USA". And if you guys think Mark and AAron should answer this, then why are you posting? Nobody is asking about the business, I am asking about the materials in the SSA woofer that makes it worth the price.
17. Screw yourself
18. The only one being dramatic is you. Your questions were answered, however, not to your liking. If you want specifics, then state that. Most people want a simple answer which was provided. I won't even bother with your nonsense comment. Are you blind? The OP says PLEASE TRY TO BE SPECIFIC/TECHNICAL IN YOUR ANSWER If I wanted a simple answer I would not have typed, PLEASE TRY TO BE SPECIFIC/TECHNICAL IN YOUR ANSWER And the dramatic people are those defending SSA when noone is attacking SSA, and why are you guys so defensive anyways, is there something not being said? 90% of the answers I got were from people who do not know what they are talking about like yourself tire, saying because it is made in USA. Real good input and helpful to boot..... So don't get butthurt and go banning me or something. There is what, 1 new thread here a week, and I now see why.
19. I guess I will repeat my OP question since it has obviously been lost in you guys saying I am asking about business and production costs...... I want to know what it is about them (the SSA woofer) that makes them worth it? For example: Crescendo is worth it because they use military boards and are .5ohm stable daily Fi BTL is worth it because they used neo magnets and try not to argue my examples, as they are just examples you drama queens You guys would rather post pointless shit then wait for someone who knows the real answer to post I refuse to accept the answers of business and production costs in the USA as answers, as I am looking for why the SPEAKER is considered higher end So excuse me for never heard SSA before and wanting more education on what I am potentially going to buy.
20. Dude, stop being a moron.Using military boards and being .5ohm stable was a marketing decision. Unrelated to final price. Neo magnets add NO VALUE to a subwoofer. Sure some cost, but it doesn't make anything worth anything. If you want education on why it is a great woofer, fine, but relating it to what they set as their selling price is pucking moronic. annnnddddd here is a noob picking on my examples after i said they were just examples and try not to argue them, you sir are an offtopic mess. go back to spamming ihop. frickin rich guys put your mobile devices down, not everyone on this forum is like you.

That's an awesome way to blow a new subwoofer. Sundown even says do not play your new sub at rated power until the break in.
22. Obama is for everyone. He is doing stuff to help the middle class more , but if you really think about it its an advantage on the upper class as well because the middle class will spend more, making more profit for the upper..Yes , we our economy has been bad but it takes more than 8 years to better the United States after Bush ruined it. He does say what he's going to do & has been sticking to it this whole presidential election. I do also think Obama can atleast relate to the common man and understand the hardships the average American must overcome rather than living the cushioned life. This year is almost a lose/lose in many areas, but Obama is the righteous choice for this government.
23. A 39-year-old man is recovering in China after intensive surgery to remove a live eel that chewed its way through his digestive tract after he inserted the creature into his anus. The man checked into to a hospital in China's southeastern Guangdong province after reportedly getting the 20-inch eel stuck inside him following his attempts to recreate something he watched in a porno film. The man rushed himself to the hospital after the stunt went wrong, allegedly telling medics, "Please, please help me. The eel is moving through my body." The eel chewed its way through the man's colon, perforated his large intestine and became stuck in the body cavity. The medical team that treated the man reportedly said the eel, which weighed about one pound, was "simply trying to find its way out." The medical team said the eel was "still alive when we got it out but it died soon afterwards, which was probably a mercy," according to The Sun. "This was a particularly idiotic stunt and could have caused him a serious injury. Eels have small but very sharp teeth," they added. The man had to endure all-night surgery to get the eel out of him and close the wounds. Police reportedly will interview him over alleged animal cruelty. Oddly, this is not the first time a stunt like this had made the news. In 2012 a New Zealand man had to have an eel removed from his bottom, though how or why it was there was never disclosed. In 2010 a man in China died from internal bleeding after his friends put an eel in his rectum as a joke after a night of heavy drinking.
24. I love the look of the SSA subwoofers but I wonder.... Why are they priced the way they are? I don't doubt the pricing but I want to know what it is about them that makes them worth it? Please try to be specific/technical in your answer. Thanks!
25. 7/8"? You need a O2 sensor socket, flare nut wrench, or a crow foot. . A box end wrench will be easiest on his truck. Trust me, I just pulled them off mine two weeks ago.
26. hey! gaiz damn I forgot to reply...guess I was too busy lol Anywho's...lettuce chat SBN was awesome, great to see XS Power and Mechman sponsoring the Escalade while you phaggots drive around in your tin cans lol Oh yeah, the video shoot was crazy too http://youtu.be/JPNHXsWASIE

28. they have a socket for it.. i have one if you were here.... you can leave it un hooked temp.. is it after or before the cat?
29. you can reinforce frames no doubt. shit one of my heavy wreckers has whats called a tripple frame
30. i dont even know what your talking about bro lol show me
31. You have to unplug it, the slide the box end over. The angles the box puts me are impossible. SHouldn't be. The PS is easily acessible under the truck, while the DS you can get from under, or crank the wheel all the way to the right and sneak in through the wheel well. Wait, are you using a 6 or 12 point box?
32. wow some little cunt is marking all myshit neg lol
