  1. There is no amount of money that can keep me from spending time with my son. If I don't have him, I will work as long as needed.
  2. Port area sucks...you need a new enclosure.
  3. Keep your Kicker amp.
  4. I'm confused. You have a good Kicker amp, but want to buy a Hifonics?
  5. Makes no difference what kind of power it is. If you apply more than the RMS, it may damage the driver...
  6. Mechanically it's going to depend on your enclosure. Thermally it's not going to be able to handle an amount of power over and above the rated power that will create an audible difference, making it rather pointless. I don't see the point in going with that Hifonics amplifier if you intend on running just a single 10" Gcon.
  7. Well guys, after a very loooooong wait...its finally over! And let me tell you, I have not even heard this thing yet and Im already creaming my panties. Here are some pictures, and when I have it installed hopefully a little bit later today I will update with pics. For those of you who already own an SSA subwoofer this will be nothing new for you (but probably brings back some great memories!). For those sitting on a fence trying to decide which way to go??? .... I have to say as far as shipping goes, SSA gets an SSA+. Holy shit you guys do this right! You guys even included a living room table! My son playing in the box. 15" Xcon vs 12" Pioneer shallow mount sub...no contest.
  8. A few screen shots...
  9. Same argumentation and trap as fast food. It is easy AND addictive so if you start you continue.I eat fast food too, but to me that is a baguette, some saucisson, cheese and a tomato. Takes seconds to grab and is yummy. My favorite fast food are the hot chicks from the track team at whatever college was running around while I was stuck in traffic.
  10. How frigging fast is this? You guys are cruising past traffic, this would win a Darwin award...
  11. great sub... and dont worry about "under powering " it.. thats a myth and i can tell you from personal experience not on 1 but 2 icons in two different builds they are amazing with very little power... i have 1 in my g/fs car on a JL 500/1 seeing maybe 400 watts in a ported box.. and WOW. and another is a build i did on a 700 watt old school autotek and its blows everyone away!
  12. use the12volt.com for future reference
  13. Then you can only wire it to 1 ohm (parallel) or 4 ohms (series). I'd just wire it to 1 and be done.
  14. The good part is that a new enclosure is much cheaper than more amps, batteries, and subs.
  15. so basically im choking the subs...damnn lol
  16. double cone area or double power make sure the box in optimal also if your just chasing numbers you could build a burp box that will probably sound like crap on music, but you could just keep playing a 40hz tone while driving lol
  17. Nice build! The food looks yummy haha
  18. On it's way to Skar headquarters.
  19. Know a lot of military buddies that died doing stuff like this on public road. Definitely not my thing...
  20. Shipping costs to my area are down to 9.50 per single pound and 15.74 per 10 pounds. Keep up the good work, guys. Might be ordering some NO Holds N-O in the near future.
  21. "stupid is as stupid does" You will understand once you see someone you know splatted all over the highway because someone wanted to be cool.
  22. ZED Minotaur II + Draconia III + Audio Control Matrix.
  23. Personally I'd change the design or make a second version that focused on reaching further. A 6.5" midbass should play higher and doesn't quite need to play as low. As for a 6.5" sub, well I think everyone knows how I feel about 8's so...
  24. We are actually known for some of the worst roads in the US Luckily they have been repaving this highway shown this month haha! But yes, during the day there is no traffic compared to Larger cities. I live about 20 miles outside KC
  25. I'm not going to have final say what the enclousres will be tuned to cause I'm leaving that up to Linear Power. Mid 30s ??? No thank you, I would run them sealed before I went any higher than 28 htz. but thanks for your opinion ... But whatever goes in there, I trust those guys not to dissapoint !!! Randal, you need to learn to read. Nowhere did I say to tune to the mid-30's I was referring to the response of the driver in an enclosure. If you'd pull your head up out of the LP BS for a second and actually spend 20 seconds modeling something you could learn a shit ton. When you do, you will see how stupid a 24Hz tune on some 8's up front will be. If Ray even hints that it is a good idea then he knows donkey dick about audio.
  26. Sir, I do not bad mouth ANY product or anybody on this forum. And I do respect what you post. So can you please do me (and my car build) a favor, show me the same respect and not bad mouth any products or anybody on my build log ??? Thank you in advance ... Like I said, I have no idea what the final numbers will be until everything is measured out, built, tested and tuned ... at this point in time, I have ALOT more things that need to be done before this is even an issue !!! A spade is a spade. If you are fully absorbed into believing something not based solely on fact there is a level of BS. Of course you took it out of context, even in your quote . Please re-read, it wasn't a bad mouth at all about a product but a request that you attempt to think for yourself and understand something once instead of blindly following. It is a really good skill in life to have.
  27. probably not the best or safest idea to be turned around taking a video while you're driving... Should probably be putting your attention on what's in front of you perhaps.
  28. Just wanted to throw this up because I thought it was pretty legit. This guy is amazing.. We were just having some fun around Kansas City. http://youtu.be/-sbPxL_Jyfc
