Not going to get involved in this thread other then to say that the SSA Evil has free Domestic Shipping, which is part of the reason for the higher price.

A production motor was air mailed to me so I coned it to a 15 and will be breaking it in over the next week to send out for klippel testing and power confirmation. I tested it with a DATS system and got some crazy numbers that just aren't physically possible so after it's broke in I'll just do the measurements by hand. I'm happy with it however the chrome is not as dark as I was expecting (I wanted black chrome) but it's much more durable than the black epoxy paint that was on the original sample. The below pics are a 15 and it weighs 61 pounds for those of you planning on 8 of these in a Scion. No cone shots as I just used plain dust caps. My custom tooled caps won't be in until next week.

I'd imagine the evil would be slightly louder on the same power given that the specs show it having more motor force. Everything else is damn near the same. It would honestly be good info for users to have, maybe give examples, this driver might be better for this and this one is better for that.

I roll my box and equipment out of my old shop and into the new tomorrow. My pay increase is solid, plus my bonus schedule is extremely strong. I should be seeing a boost of roughly 30%. I am excited, to say the least. I have never made this much money, and when I was closest I was not in charge... Good times.

I would highly suggest looking elsewhere before considering SKAR. As for the DCON, you're going to be hard pressed to find another sub that performs as well for the money. While it's okay to run a little extra power in most cases I don't think double the RMS is recommendable. The amp is rated at 400wrms @ 4 ohms. Why not order a 4 ohm SVC DCON and then in the future if you decide to go with two you'll still have that capability. You don't need to throw full RMS or more at one in order to get everything it can offer and that goes for any sub. The most important thing to consider and spend your time, effort and money on is making certain the enclosure is as close to perfect as possible.

what style of metering?

I've noticed one thing immediately when looking at your amps internally, and that there is a lot of empty space for the same board vs looking at others in the same RMS range. Was just wondering if you could provide any detail as to why that is? Just curious really.

You really aren't going to gain much. There is no correlation between high xmax and SPL.
