  1. We all hope your recovery is......swift. It had to be done.
  2. DD-1 is your problem
  3. I'd take things Db-r says with a grain of salt. He might be able to fix an amp but he lacks the skill of logic in most instances. That said there's no reason to use a DD1 to start with, so the point is moot.
  4. To answer the op's question.....no the dd-1 didn't damage the amp. For DB-r it was simply easier to blame the DD-1. I over tighten a bolt on my engine do I blame the wrench?
  5. check Into crescendo pwx for your front.. I think im going with those.. ive never used them but frogcase2002s sound pretty damn good mixed with some aq tweets. That is a horrible suggestion. Just fucking horrible, lol
  6. It has nothing to do with our amps specifically.
  7. Yes, the most likely culprit is not having the SSF set properly. You can't compare this experience to one you had with a completely different setup, you just can't. There are too many variables, too many differences that play a part in what may or may not happen with one setup over another.
  8. who told you this?
  9. Ill be there competing. I will get to Daytona Wednesday and stay til Monday. If anyone want to meet up and chat.
  10. I didn't come for good reason. family is more important than anything else. Even we are family but this story pertains to my actual family. I go to Cape coral, fl every year for 2 weeks to spent time with my 2 cousins, aunt and uncle. One of my cousins just got married while I was down there.. my other cousin, she has a boyfriend going 3yrs and a 2 yr son. i typically stay with her while down here because we are close and i care more about her because of her past life experiences. She's had rough life. currently they are stuck.. He can't get a job on the books because of child support, she can't work because nobody to watch their son. They have to live minimally to just get by. so while I'm on vacation, I help them watch their son, clean their house, PAY for their GAS, buy them food, etc... She thanks me much for doing this... Well, the day before SBN, they had a big verbal fight in the car and he jumped out the car.. After argument out of the car, they returned and I was hit with a hurtful image of my cousin in this situation... I couldn't take it.. I left once we got home. I went to her brothers house to cool down and tell him what happened. I can't take to see family hurt. she got upset at me for trying to mediate or over - care the situation. They get in plenty of arguments, I did not know this but they always resolve them.. again.. I didn't know. so I was talking to her all day the next day via text because she was too upset to talk on the phone.. I didn't want to leave here not having the last memory be good or just say bye! So I drove an hour out of my way to go back there and spend the ENTIRE day with them during SBN to ensure we, as family, are just as strong as we should be. We are definitely stronger than ever and for good reason- Anyone here ever do something for someone that was inspirational? You know the feeling you feel when you do? That relief that everything is going to be ok? Take a moment.. The following is a good conclusion to this story... I am also looking at purchasing a house soon in South Florida and moving their eventually. I will buy it in KY and pay on it til I move into it. I offered this proposal to which I received a big smile, , something I haven't seen from my cousin other than me telling jokes. A serious smile... When i purchase a house, I want them to move into my house, rent free, and pay only utilities while I pay the mortgage down 50% They live 1 hr away from family in BFE and no jobs around.. This will not only get me a house, but get them out of this shithole location, closer to family and with less bills. Call it fate for all of us but I forsee moving forward in the right direction for all of us.
  11. enclosure, tuning, install, deadening, etc.
  12. speakers are stupid, it tried to do what you told it to but you told it kill itself. buy a recone, set the amp up correctly, and learn to use your ears and nose to tell when the sub is being pushed too hard.
  13. This is how (Alton) explained it to me. Posted 03 December 2013 - 09:13 AM There's a VERY easy way to set the SSF. Start by turning it all the way down and putting in a CD with test tones on it, no music. Start with something like 40hz and turn the volume up enough to get the sub moving. Now switch the tracks down one hertz at a time. As you near tuning you should see the sub moving less and less (while getting a little louder each time) then once you see the sub start moving a little more again you're a hertz or two below tuning. At this point go back and forth on the tracks and figure out which frequency the sub moves the LEAST and that is the tuning frequency of your enclosure. Now put on a track that is 3 to 5 hertz lower than your tuning frequency and turn it up enough to really get the sub moving good but without damaging it obviously. At this point you adjust the SSF up until you see the movement of the sub go down to at least half the amount it was when you started and your SSF is set with no guessing whether it's right or not.

Close, however we settled everything before court was even an issue.Pertaining to the posts above our woofers were never over $500 and will never be. No matter how late we are to this party it is worth clearing everything up for you all! What's probably confusing the poor kid is the ridiculous "Retail Price: $1,199 Your savings: $800" that is listed on your website. Perhaps you should drop the silly sales gimmick. I didn't even realize reputable companies still did such nonsense.
  16. If you walk to the spl look for a maroon gmc sierra with a huge psi sticker on the hood. Ill give you a back massage at 43hz lol
  17. contact don, he will go over each part of vehicle that you want to treat, recommend just enough to get it done, and give you the right instructions. then you'll have an idea of what it will cost. i would recommend at least deadening the doors, roof, trunk, and rear shelf. and then mlv and ccf for the front doors. depending how much you want to spend, you could do more areas (like the floor) to reduce road noise for example. will do! what do you mean rear Shelf? Are you talking about a car? I Have an SUV so it'll be the doors, hatch, roof i guess. Not sure if ill need anywhere else But i most certainly want to do it right. aside form Don's email on the website I found is there another contact? is he on this Forums? contact him by email

The Evil box is killer. I kind of want that 18" Zcon ported box for my damned car.
  19. Just showed up to my door. OE packaging and all. Coils read .7 each, nearly flawless condition (no worse than described) no noises playing free air. Someone REALLY needs to pick up the other xcon. Well worth the money. Thank you Jay!!!
  20. Prototype Magnatar, yes. Final production will be changed.

  22. You and me, buddy. Hopefully I'll have at least one fitted this weekend. I think no matter the car I would have gutted the whole panel and fit it with some wicked shapes.
  23. I get earfuls of shit for talking about wanting to tune low. But I love me some lows, I'm excited to hear how it turns out! Tuning low for the hell of it vs getting a flat response are two different things. For the hell of it? That's an ignorant assumption No reason to aim for a goal, if there is no goal to begin with... That's completely stupid.
  24. The sub is already assembled, i'm not sure how you'd go about that
