  1. Kept breaking gauge clusters so here is my fix. Enjoy.
  2. Wasn't spending 400 bucks, for an amp that my son(soon to be 16) would misuse and blow the sub with.LOL If it were mine- maybe. Also looking at space limitations- but that was second to the previous statement.
  3. I have used the SQ'd1200 to power a ssa Icon and it was just fine on 1 ohm.
  4. had both my 1200 on 2 fosgate t1s in a f250 on stock electric. no extra batts. gain all the way up and clipped the shit out of daily. not once did they cut out. overheat. or even get warm. and thats not even counting the tons of hours sitting around it drunk by the fire with friends. without even havin the truck running
  5. hopefully you understand what's caused the lead to tear? over excursion. check your setting, enclosure, and install. make sure the SSF is set correctly.
  6. I DO NOT give my money or business to people who make posts like he has. What have I done wrong? I gave you a box design but obviously it's not gonna work since we didn't have dimensions. Then I ask you to please drop you're attitude and come back with dimensions and then we can help you. Honestly what about my posts made you not wanna deal with me? The fact that you mentioned to someone who is fairly new to car audio to not even start a thread without dimensions. How is ANYONE supposed to learn anything without starting threads, asking questions, etc. ? http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/13994-attention-noobs/ Number Three Subwoofer Enclosure Specification Questions & Requests Most manufacturers do list the optimal enclosure specifications on their respective websites, but sometimes you do want to know what other users of the subwoofers have done. To help get the information you desire when wondering this type of question, please include the following information. Subwoofers in question, number of subwoofers & subwoofer size Amplifier being used, specifically the model number. Fabrication skill level Preferred material to be used (i.e. MDF, fibreglass, etc) Vehicle which the subwoofers will be used in Other products you have heard, but have not owned that you enjoyed & their install particulars. Musical preferences System goals Previous subwoofers you have used, and their installation particulars List any research you have previously done
  7. Your work is beautiful but you don't ship enclosures? That sucks for maybe 95% of us here.
  8. Obviously both of you guys are missing my point, I know these drivers are designed for smaller boxes as I understand that. Ill break it down for yall. If you are already cutting down the box size to fit in your trunk, then why go for it. Cramming a box being damn near too big to fit in the trunk along with batteries, amps etc. Not cramming as subs in too small enclosure. But if OP has taken the extras into consideration then my bad, like I said I just don't see the hype in doing so.
  9. The DSS Ethos, along the Mag, seem to LOVE small enclosures. Take a look at Big Jon Lincoln, small side for a conventional dual 15, except he net's a very positive return, I too noticed the same with the mag. "Cramming" may not apply so much when the driver's themselves are design for so.
  10. Does no one do their own research or even find out measurements of their own fucking vehicle? lol From your posts its clear your a lazy cheap ass that expects people to do shit for you. How would you even know someone was giving you a good design without trying to gain some knowledge yourself?
  11. Also the fact that most of those are Korean made which blurs the lines even more.
  12. Subjective terms like "more musical" aren't meaningful. The sonic attributes of an electronic device such as an amplifier can be completely characterized by 5 measurements; frequency response, distortion, noise, gain and power. Just about any amp today is going to have flat enough frequency response to be audibly indistinguishable, low enough distortion to be inaudible, and noise should also be inaudible as long as the gain is set to avoid thermal noise. So that leaves power as the deciding factor. If by some chance two amps do happen to sound different, it's not because one amp is more "musical"... it's because there was an audible difference in one of those 5 categories. But again, there is a low probability of having two standard amps having audibly different frequency response, distortion or noise leaving power as the deciding and audibly important factor.
  13. Without measurents from you. System goals, music types, amount of power, drivers you wish to use etc... Any guess we make will be invalid. Need to give more details. Ported? Sealed? Etc...
  14. Subbass is inherently slow and muddy. There's no such thing as "fast" sub bass. If you want that quick punch and snap, you are focusing on the wrong thing. What you are looking for is called midbass. Focus on your midbass drivers.
  15. welcome to the forum. hate to say it but there's so much misunderstanding here. where to start... 1. no such thing as SQL. i swear there's a post explaining these definitions somewhere. SQ = reproduction of sound accurate to the source material. SPL = raw output. what you probably mean is that you're looking for a decent sounding subwoofer that can get loud. which isn't particularly hard to find. building the correct enclosure is where most people fuck it up. All the jazz about ground pounding comes down to enclosure design. 2. punchiness and speaker size is an old car audio myth that never dies. 3. if you haven't guessed by now, running those two subs together would not accomplish your goal.
