  1. Some of your play by play is cracking me up. Thanks again for picking the Evil!
  2. POWER Class 640,4 ???????? I have the same AMP i USE the Precision Power EQ for the FQ settings and it sounds CLEAN for all for speakers in my yukon. I dont use the settings on the amp at all they didnt work out for me
  3. Amp is a gain block, your headunit can do everything you need. Do yourself a favor though and sell the rears and run the tweets & mids on their own channel. 80prs network mode ftmfw.
  4. damp pro is pretty good. shouldn't have an issue selling what he doesn't use.
  5. If you're on that tight of a budget look into the AD244 alternator upgrade. You can find several places on the internet that have all the info on it. The AD244 is a factory alt that is the base for most all large case GM high output alternators. It bolts straight in place on the 4.3's with no modifications and can usually be found for about $50 used at most junk yards. It's a great budget option when you don't have $350+ for an HO alt.
  6. Fuck the power rating, give it around 300 rms and it'll blow you away.
  7. Just placed my order and should be shipping out today. Hooray, wait time. Should have plenty of time to do up my doors, complete the big 3, and build a ported box. Thinking 4ft^3 net @ ~32hz should be a good start.
  8. I agree with Julian 100%. These are VERY basic questions that you should know by now. Not to sure how you have built your system without knowing how to see how much space you have with 3 dimensions. You definitely should know how to do this. I would suggest downloading the Torres box calc and also using Stephan's port area calc. It'll allow you to be able to somewhat design a box and and figure out your answers pretty quick. That way you don't have to ask questions and wait for a reply. Lol that was a bad come back you obviously don't know Julian's past setups. Also not trying to start anything between me and you but just trying to let you see our side and too help.
  9. I don't think you buy a Nissan GTR and ask the dealer how do you put it in 2nd? All Julian was insinuating is that maybe he should have done a little bit more research before making such a big purchase. And having such an "large" equipment list. That was my point exactly, if you need to ask some serious basic questions without doing at least the bare minimum of research you probably shouldn't be doing it. We aren't here to spoon feed you information. And to say to come back when I've ran as big of equipment at that is laughable. I've been in this hobby for nearly 9 years with multiple large setups.. 8 xcon 10s on 15k, 12 12s on 20 k.. etc If you can't do some basic calculations or even plug them into a calculator you shouldn't be delving this deep into a hobby where a miss calculation can ruin thousands of dollars worth of equipment. So yeah. Lul
  10. Well yeah I do too....That's why I am running all those Beymas in my doors. They are loud as hell. I am in the middle of a tuning nightmare as well because I am running that Rockford 3sixty.3 off my factory head unit but only like playing music via blutooth or aux because the factory Bose head unit sounds like poop to me.
  11. and neither of you can do a google search. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_crossover#Passive there's even diagrams.
  12. never seen someone try to piss money away like this... honestly you got to be a troll you're install is a fucking mess. fix it before you buy another damn thing.
  13. you're not looking for sound quality you're looking for output. no one on the planet installs 18s for the sake of SQ.
  14. you're right a 10 and 18 CAN have the same frequencies response. the 18 is just capable of more output.
  15. you got a giant peak in the low end due to the subwoofer/enclosure and the acoustics of a vehicle. either EQ out the peak or look to gain output from midbass (because that upper range that you're lacking is approaching midbass frequencies.
  16. the point im making is that you dont need the output if you're looking for a balanced system. what you're trying to achieve with 18" Q's wont result in anything different then the sp4 you had before.
  17. My icon sounds kinda funky right now also. Not what I've believed I could expect from it. I'm 100% sure it's my install. Just need to keep tweaking it till it's how you want
  18. Ah, now that makes much more sense, lol. No worries, I was being sarcastic with the "hooray" and without tone of voice it lost its true meaning. Thanks to all who have given advice. Once I have my xcon back, I'll readdress this situation and find the cause. Kinda tough to figure it out with a broken sub.
  19. I understood it correctly, I meant that I'll be shipping my xcon to them today.
  20. was gonna say there is gonna be some pissed off people if he receives his order that fast lol
  21. Why thank you. As for the enclosure type, the Xcon does perform well sealed. But, if you want to step up the output, you can see plenty of people are suggesting going ported. I am not sure where the hiccup in the system is. SDS will help, I know it did in my little wagon. Do you know if the recone was done at our build house or by the person you bought the subwoofer from? The guy I got it from claimed it was brand new, and it sure looked like it. But who knows for sure other than he? I was going to go ported pretty soon, but now I'll be sending it in for a recone myself as I killed it. Sealed box kept me from smelling it heating up and I let the smoke out of it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't make a difference in what is going on here, but it is an early model with the pole vent. I assume sending it in for a recone wouldn't be a problem?
  22. -1 points
does that s10 have the 2.2? if so, sell/trade me that alternator!
