This week I have sold 2 Prius battery reconditionings and one complete rebuild. For recondition, I find the suspect cell or v-blocks, replace those cells/blocks, clean the battery, discharge, and recharge the battery pack. For a complete rebuild I replace all cells, discharge and recharge them, replace the temp sensors, replace the cooling fan, and reflash the computer. Nice labor for me, nice profit for the shop. 2 of the jobs were referred/subletted by other shops, one is a customer referral. If things keep up at this pace, I will be forced to buy another battery charging setup. I got a program for my charger system from a friend of mine in San Fran who has been doing this for a while. She sent me the discharge and recharge programs she is using. The rates of both are variable, neither linear nor cyclical. They are temperature dependent, and my charger has 2 temp probes per main unit, so 6 temp probes in total (I use 3 main chargers with 3 separate high capacity power supplies). With these 3 jobs I have taken in as much money as I have spent on the main scan tool, and the chargers (gross, as net with labor still sets me a bit south of a total wash). One more rebuild will put me even for my programmer, and 2 reconditions will set me at a profit. Needless to say the owner and GM are both very happy at this point. Our name has gotten out fast, and with one of my very good friends being a mobile diagnostic business owner (he sublets to shops, figuring out problem cars for them) and sending me his referrals, I am golden. SO many people are afraid of these hybrids, and we are capitalizing at this point.

That tuning is pretty high, and won't have authority on playing low bass notes... Most people will reccomend 32-34 hz

Welcome! Talk to garychurch some more about the Icons. He's getting good output with his. I have a pair of Xcons, and love them! Mine are almost fully broke in & putting a hurting on my poor G6

Honestly both will meet or exceed your expectations, if it were me and I could afford the step above I would. It gives you more head room and the ability to add more power. I have my ZCON 12's tuned to 28 and love it, tons of low end and still can peak up to around 50hz with ease.

This is so far out of hand it is like some terrible joke. I have provided info to Paypal, to the BBB, to States Attorney Generals Office. The customer is sending endless faxes to the States Attorney and the BBB. We have gone so above and beyond and then some, I am not sure if I should laugh or what. Now, not sure who holdterry is and why he is talking to him self. No one was blocked from the site. The paypal charge back pulled the money, so we don't have the money, so we are not shipping anything to him. Not sure how this is still going on. We can't refund money we don't have anymore. Not to mention our clearly stated refund policy on made to order items. 95% refund, not full. We do not want our product in his hands as if he cannot answer simple questions in endless emails and is this unstable, it is not worth risking our sub in his hands.

The problem with people like this is they get so caught up in trying to be right or prove someone else wrong that they can't take a step back from it all and CHECK THEMSELVES and say hmm...maybe I am in the wrong here, let alone admit it.

I am opening this topic back up, and posting in it again, to show the unreal depths we go when it comes to customer service even when we made nothing from it. After the record shattering amount of emails and FB messages that burned endless (and now wasted) hours, that were accompanied by numerous non-sensical voicemails on our main office phone (all the while knowing Mark was not there to answer it due to being on the road for SBN), followed by a totally unwarranted Paypal claim, which was instantly followed by an absolutely off the reservation BBB claim, I just got off the phone with the Maryland Attorney General's office. The woman handling the claim there, had received a truck load of convoluted and again, non-sensical faxes in regards to this one order. She was so happy to talk to me and glad that she didn't have to deal with this customer, along with happy we are many states apart for worry as to the capacity of what this person might try to pull. Wishing me the best and that we never have to deal with someone like this again. So at this point, with the paypal charge back, the whole ordeal is done in the eyes of the BBB and the State of Maryland. What a tremendous waste of time and stress. Sadly, I don't think he is done as he is acting as if we had done him some tragic wrong doing to go so out of control like this. Back to taking care of our normal customers.

I am closing this topic, as I am done dealing with the insane amount of effort (and stress) that has gone into this one order. The BBB claim has been addressed, the paypal charge back has already yanked the money from our account. Neal said it best, it is not worth it anymore and not worth risking such a nice SSA sub in this customers hands.

Sad, but some people feel it necessary to act in such a poor manor. Even worse is when they consume so much of your time when you could have been helping others who have a better apperication for your time and help. I would venture to say the way he acted, it might be in the best interest of SSA for him not to own an SSA sub.

After over 100, yes you read that right, 100 emails/facebook messages, numerous times asking over and over again to respond with a simple answer of what he would like the order changed to, I get a paper from the Better Business Bureau complaining we did not answer the phone. Mind you, I told him over and over that Mark was away at SBN and that I could answer every question via email no problem, but yet he continued to keep calling in and complaining that no one was answering the phone. But, the long nonsensical emails just kept raining in, from Mike, his son, their friend and some shop that was helping him out. This was with out a doubt, a perfect example of the customer is not always right. Never have I ever poured out so much customer service to one order for one speaker for one customer, absolutely unreal. Then has the audacity to do a charge back and a BBB claim.

awesome sub!! For me, I would put an 2.3k amp on that puppy, port it at like, 30hz, and be prepared to drop the ladies panties! haha

I'd say it depends on your budget. I love the shit out of my ICON, can't wait to try out an XCON.
