  1. That's awesome of you Aaron, I have been a part of the forum for some years now, and as you know have ordered two of these speakers, I have not logged in to my SSA account to see if the credit is there. Either way, credit or not on my account, I think this is just further proof (as if any further proof was needed!) of the outstanding practices, standards and products of SSA AUDIO!!!
  2. I thought y'all use to ban trolls ??? LOL

Normally reading comprehension is taught in elementary school, think you need a refresher.
  5. You need to think instead of read a regurgitate. Aux inputs are just fine when implemented right. USB by default should be identical to a CD. Both carry exactly the same digital information assuming you have any idea how to rip a CD. The home stereo analogy is apt here. Normally your CD player is separate from your pre-amplifier. The pre-amplifier has an "aux" in (usually labelled CD or the like) that you plug it into. Sounds terrible. Of course the USB or playing a CD direct would be analogous to using the digital transport into the pre-amp. So then the real question becomes where is the better d/a converter, in the pre-amp or in the cd player itself. The exact same can be said of car audio. Crutchfield is useful for looking up what is stock and what electrical adapter to buy, but for nothing else. That ship sailed 15 years ago.

  8. Someone else changed the subject because you stated something wrong off topic. You do this in every frickin' thread you go in and never see what happens. It is REALLY simple. Here is an idiot proof summary for you. You: Altima is bigger than Maxima Someone else: No 99 > 89.3 so the Altima Coupe is smaller by your dumb spec than the Maxima This Is NOT this: We all realize you like to puff your comments and add some trivial fact you think is neat, but if you would stop throwing up out of context ones that have zero relevance and are incorrect it would help. I prefer to use WinISD, but it won't do all the math for you. The box layout is still completely up to you.
  9. I pissed at more than 600mph and 35,000 feet this past Saturday. Think that piss went further.
  10. So this is bigger than a Maxima? Even by your useless spec of cuft interior it is smaller.... The only relevant portion of the car that would be on topic for this thread is the trunk size...even then the OP HAS an Altima coupe, so how the discussion of anything else helps him we'd like to hear. Otherwise just stop typing in this thread. If you don't get this, perhaps forums are not for you.
  11. Wow, thank you for the great feedback!
  12. Even with 12" height you can regularly fit a 15". You just need to tip the baffle at enough of an angle to make it fit. Obviously space hog and by no means am I recommending that for you, but wanted you to realize that the box doesn't need to be square. And since Mr Offtopic is again offtopic a quick clarification is in order...Using 3cuft of interior space as the differentiator claiming something larger is ridiculous. Could very well be way more wasted space somewhere, but either way it is completely irrelvant to helping cobrapg as he already owns a 2 door altima and just wants a box that fits.
  13. Yea I was around in the old days to my man and JL, kicker, and fosgate helped start all this car audio stuff, before them it was all pro audio drivers shoe horned into a car. And yes the brahma is another awesome woofer, I like those to, but never saw them around much, nobody in the southeast ran then at any shows that I can remember, except world finals in Lebanon tenn. i saw some there. And yes I know many woofers can sound good, it all comes down to install, but there are slight differences. I'm just saying out of the 100 different brands I have used and heard JL is probably one of my favorites. My favorite would probably be a UL driver, those sound as accurate to real life music as I have heard but talk about a high price, there out of my league but I would love to have a couple.
  14. W6V1s were not all that. If that is your reference, you need to stop. Sean has forgotten more quality drivers than you have heard. We were around in the big design era, we understand driver technology and we have been around a lot more than most people. JL was able to take so much tech from the design of the W7 and implement it into the W6V2 design that made it a pure SQ driver, but it still obtained a parabolic bl linearity curve on DUMAX, and you could hear it. Sure, linearity was better on the V2s than most overhung designs, but we saw so many boutiques that killed it. With linearity, in the lower octaves, comes transparency. The W6V2 was still behind any XBL2 designs by Dan Wiggins, from the Brahma, to the Koda, to the Tummult, the ShivaX, the MaelstromX, and the TempestX. I would compare the W6V2 with Dan's similarly sized Shiva (12) or Tempest (15). Similarly we had the JBL GTI (not today's knock offs, but the monstrous dual staggered coil units), the original XXX (XBL2 driven), and several other drivers that realized linear BL. I'll run my Brahma V2 against anything for pure SQ with absurd output.
  15. Never mind you mean the Phoenix gold m amps and yes them was some sweet sounding amps I loved my m100, m50, and ms275. I had two crunch on the ms275 that hit pretty good for 2 12's.
  16. They will mate with a ton of tweeters. I would avoid ones from a component set as they are all lackluster. Instead figure out the largest thing you can fit and a budget and we can help you pick some. I know the SSA ones are coming if you wait, but there are literally tons of options if you can't.
  17. In testing I was using the Morel MDT 12's. The Peerless by Tymphany NE19VTS-04 3/4", SEAS Neo Textiles, Scan-Speak D3400's and LPG's are good options. I am working on SSA tweets at the moment.
