(ICON 15'S) 149.8db @ Prescott
Well, Acidburn, Beatdominator, Johnecon2000, and I went up to Prescott AZ today for a local meet and greet, and they had a mic up there so I thought, what the hell, was wondering what my ICON 15's would do with just 1500 watts to them would do. Conditions: - Amps had been on all day and where very very hot to the touch - Subs have been beat'n on all day long showing people and giving demos, coils where allready heated up when this score was taken. - Enclosure tuned to 35hz for street beat, not a good recipe for SPL, but never the lesss, keep that in mind. All in all this set up could easially break the 150db mark if everything was cooled down and had a fresh burp. THe ICON's did a 149.8 (please keep in mind this is only 1500 watts) We won the best looking most creative trophie of all time (Troy_audio's creation, lol) All in all, SSA is very pleased with this subs ability to be a great SQ sub, but also be able to handle some abuse. Was a good turn out up there in prescott and everyone seemed to have a good time, lots of pic's where taken by the other guys and hopefully they'll post em up here in this thread.

Maybe... I really like those touch screens like the Pioneer AVIC D3. I love the way they sit flush and are so clean they look like they could be factory. Downside: $1000 and theft. -John I just upgraded to one in my truck, and wow, they're great, I can sell you one for $799 if you're serious about them.

HEAD UNIT TIME!
-
ILuvJDM's Build Thread
hmm, sounds to me like the head unit might be the problem? is the amp getting it's signal from the highlevel input? If so I've heard before that you can't use those outputs from the bose system. MrRay13 might have more insight in that one. This could deff be the source to your problem.

you're sub should deff be moving like mine in the video's. Looks like it's barely moving, like it's getting no power for some reason. What is your sub setting on your deck? the bass setting on the deck? you gain set to on the amp? etc...

SSA STICKERS are up!
ok their up, the price on them is $0.01, however, you'll have to pay shipping on them. Let me explain, becuase we can't set one item on the cart to free shipping, we are setting the price to free and you'll have to pay shipping on them. You'll get two stickers per/order for around $6. Just make sure and tell us what color you want in the payment screen under comments http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/in...p;productId=159

so is the way I have it wrong? I have it just like the picture, is the picture wrong? -John if you have it just like the pic, then it is RIGHT. You're problem should lie in one of your settings. You're sub deff isn't getting the power it needs, but that amp is more then capable of running it, so it must be a setting somewhere.

ILuvJDM's Build Thread
see that's how I have it... I have the main + to one VC and the main - to the other like the picture has. Or should I wire them both to the same VC and run jumpers to the other VC? -John yes, wire one voice coil using the (+)(-) from the amp, then just run jumpers to the other coil, that should fix your problem unless i'm not understanding you correctly, it sounds like you're wired in series. If this doesn't fix your problem, it's got to be a amp/deck setting

you can't bottom our sub out! there's a 1/2" gab between the back plate. You can try though.
-
ILuvJDM's Build Thread
you should double your amps output wiring it like this.

ILuvJDM's Build Thread
As far as I know, yeah. I have the positive wire running to the left VC, and the negative wire running to the right VC on the sub. From that I have a connecting wire going from one negative to the other and same for the positive. Is that the right way? I must not be hearing distortion... is it a really noticeable sound, or does it take a trained ear? that's exactly why I think it's underpowered. It already shakes my rear-view mirror and my driver's side mirror, so I figured that was all it would do... -John I think we just found your problem, sounds like it's wired in series which would put you at a 4ohm load. You'll want to wire the sub in series, meaning, send the (+)(-) from the amp to one coil, then just jump (+)(+) & (-)(-), ii'll find you a diagram, one sec...
