  2. Cool will do, sounds safer
  3. cant believe i had a Bum Rca !!! i wonder how long it's been out ? what effect does it have on the overall preformance of the amp to reproduce a signal ?
  4. in truck 1st run 2nd run found out after 2nd run that 1 of my Rcas was dead
  5. LB, you really confuse yourself asking me questions like this. I have never had and will never have a need or desire to own a driver that can take more than 3kW. The 110 comment was of course an easy way to get nearly free 60hz power, as stated above you can surely limit the power with a variac. I was just trying to make your life easier. your suggesting things iv never done / dont have a variac. ??? want to be safe and not cook a new sub or myself
  6. Really simple actually. First start with sine waves. 1) Take the output of your cd player into an analyzer and look at the response. 2) Now take a microphone and measure the acoustic response of your system 3) Overlay 1 & 2 and make them identical Once you balance your system to play back sine waves identically as they are recorded, it will now play music back as recorded. You also must realize though that popular music in general is recorded in such a way to compensate for stereo systems so you will have to adjust afterwards, of course if you listen to real musicians this is much less the case. Wow i think i understood all of that ! makes a lot of sense Problem: i have no way of getting this done
  7. okokok : heres the thing that KILLS me !!! how do i know what the Artist intended when they recorded it as i was NOT in the recording studio when they did it ?
  8. 418fi/// I wish i could express myself that clearly M5/// sense of Humor was on sale @ Walmart last week buy 1 get 1 free its all good bro i do understand where your comming from even if i cant get the thoughts typed out correctlly...
  9. its not a problem Bor we just see the thing from 2 different points of view. i get that your into the technical aspect of the detention of what the waves break into. i just want the concert experience in my SPL-Xplorer
  10. i was playing a song yesterday that hit all the low notes and as the freq was rising i could hear where it just STOPED/CUTOFF ? i guess it was over 120Hz just cut out so do i need some 8" mid bass drivers ?
  11. i get it i meant RAW as in the feeling of POWER / RAW UN CONTROLLABLE POWER as the Bass player from Slayer or your favorite band hits the E string and the beer @ your feet in starts to vibrate and move across the floor away from you and you have to get out of your seat to retrieve your beer... I mean a freekin TSUNAMI OF SOUND shakes everything for a mile. DEATH to DINKY BASS SETUPS... i hope all there 8" subs melt when i drive by
  12. iv come to the conclusion that SQ is the attempt to recreate what was done in the recording studio... the problem is i have never been in a recording studio ! point: the common person has only been to a concert, i.e. ( SLAYER ) so as expected i want it to sound the way i remember it when SLAYER is on stage and everyone is slamming in the pit. ( mosshing ) case: i say go for what ya know to Hell with the refined SQ i want it RAW & LOUD enough to dround out the thoughts of the jerk in the car next to me trying to text on their cell phone i waht to let them know there Factory sound systems SUCK-EGGS after sitting in front of a computer fo 13hrs a day i want a freeking body massage
  13. i did notice i was missing the higher bass notes as well yesterday... if i were going to do a 2way sub setup id range it from 20Hz/35 - & - 35Hz-80
  14. that looks strangely fa miler Big port FTW ( BiGG BaSS ) are going to 2x the face ?
  15. i would avoid the generic junk... Life is to short to have the same thing everyone else has !
  16. Thank you Jeff it has to do with the baskets,,, the SS SPLX has a thicker design than the Mojo.
  17. ill do it with a box iv got 2 days till the competition... M5/// did you hook yours up too a wall socket ?
  18. Trust me im not about to cook my new sub on a wall socket... i have it in a 7cf boxx @ 36Hz with 3k warming it up a lil i have till sunday too loosen it up a lil So how do yall like the new LB MOAB XxX ?
  19. i would assume you cut an extention cord and wire it to the sub and plug it into the wall
  20. 0.5ohm dsr paralleled 2.0ohm dsr series
  21. i dont wanna blow it i just got it ! im a lil nervious doing the wall thinggy. as for RMS rating ? unknown i know the smaller Moab in the pic will take 3k @ 0.5ohm daily in a box ported 36Hz with no problems... so im going to guess with the overkill build i asked for ? im hoping for 2x that, so im thinking 5/6k rms i asked for quad spiders / 4k tencel leads / copper clad flat/square wound aluminum coil / Quad mag-motor / custom pole venting etc etc etc
  22. youll be fine just be careful with the GAIN setting & bass Boost... try not to clipp the subs
  23. my DMM said it was 121v
