I'm just curious, have you heard any SQ competition vehicles or maybe a demo room at a high-end audio store? You're free to believe whatever you want, but I'm just curious what your reference is. Oh God Yess i got to sit in more than a few SQ setups, that were done by people that really know what there doing Todd Zier for example, wow... that dude is cool, every car / truck he does is SQ for real and i loved the VW that had all Focal mids / highs / sub with Audison amps !!! completlly overwelmingly CLEAR... i try to get as close to that as i can but as we all know i lean towards the SPL Monster...

you do know during the week i fade the sub down to blend in with the rest of the music, that is untill someone pulls up along side blasting "i got bit@hs i got H@es" then i have the killer Knock drowned him OUT..

during the week i would like to think i had something that resembled SQ even though on the wekends i am an SPL Warrior i am not accusing anyone directlly i am trying to point out that there are better ways to get your point across. id have to say there are a few even handed posters on this forum like Denim, and a few others that lead the exampel of being nice...

Wow guys ! please calm down... all im trying to point out is it has become a common trend, that when anyone post i.e. i have 4 15" and need a recomendation on a set of comps''' out come the lame comments i.e. well if all you want to do is make noise !!! and well just tyrn it down !!! why not just point out a good set of comps and gentlly nudge someone over to your point of view without calling them an IDIOT. by personally attacking someone that has a different point of view that yours is the sign of a weak mind. and only validates my point. if someone wanted to do SPL with an 8" sub in a sealed box ! i would not START off by personaly attacking there choice, you catch more flys with sugar than you will with vinigar M5/// when i came to you for addvice about trying to go a lil SQ, i welcomed your addvice and did as much as i understood. all i am trying to get across is sometimes it gets old with the lame comments about our choice of lisenning setups...

i have noticed a desterbing trend on every forum... when someone post about : Loud SPL or anything bigger than a 10" sub the SQ sharks come out in force and rain on our good time. but GOD forbidd i rant on one of there rich boy toys *cough JL audio cough* can we have a lil less nagging from the SQ bunch PLEASE??? how would they like it if i/we go into there threads and NON STOP SLAMM them for having over priced underpowered subs & whatever ??? cant we all just accept that everyone has a different point of view as to what sounds good

i like your pov you've always seemed fair I think you should do the box 6cf or 7cf with a Huge port FTW i.e. >>> im a bigg fan of single 15" setups. im just as loud as guys with 4x 15" setups...

according to the Hype iv seen on the net it should fair well but i have to say the test that were shown in the videos were done by a bias co. there fore i will have to see 1 go live before giving any comment, or an opinion! it does look promising !!! looks as though it will out handle a lot of Beefy subs if the hype holds true and given Orion's track record, id say i look forward to getting the chance to view it for myself. but the SQ boys are going to rant its not a good SQ sub, and i think they may have a valid point but then you don't buy a Draggster to go get beer

Wow i learned something new today oh and to be fair i did hear a system last night with 2x JL W7 subs in a Hummer boxs were JL as well, about 3cf per box with 2x JL 1000/1 amps and he was as loud as my 1x 15" Pap Moab. but he had the boxs stacked in a Pacman shape and had a lil cancellation, but overall was impressed that he was Producing Bass Notes... the subs were NOT distorting and overall not bad ! there is always a first time for everything guess i just had to keep an open mind & be in the right place @ the right time...

what are the pros & cons of an underhung sub please

Bro please give it a rest... if you like it - I LOVE IT... there are other things i dislike as well. Nike shoes brussell sprouts hamburgers cooked med rare dress shoes with tassells sushi / or anything that is Fish Tommy Hilfiger pink shirts on Men religious fanatics 1000 Island dressing cold weather chevy trucks organic labled food beer / i get really sick movies with Patric Swazie or Tom Hanks or Jim Carie CSI the tv show Talk shows other than Jerry Springer fancy restaurents 2nd hand cigerett smoke is it posaiable i am just unforutnate enuff to have never come across a properlly installed JL sub ? and based my oppinion on my experance! lets get back to the subject please

poor quality product. remember these are my opnions based on what i have had experiance with. i understand you seen a few more installs and im sure whoever built them took great care to make sure it was perfect. sorry my oppinion seems to piss you off. why dont you offer me an address in the Dallas / Ft Worth TX area where i can go and see a properlly installed JL sub ? Bro you know i all ready gave in way keep kicking a dead dog?

as stated in the previous post, i will just agree that i am wrong, and somewhere in the Universe someone got a JL sub that works & sounds good.

i can see 2 x 15" in a Honda CVR but where are you going to fit 17+cf box in that for 4 x 15" ??? much less kill your suspention on the thing ? thats a LOT of WEIGHT

so let me get this stright, make sure i understand correctlly my Opinion is based on the FACT that EVERY sub iv seen and lisend to made by JL was Blown or broken. not 1 was funcutioning somehow makes me the village idiot, and every installer & shop in the Dallas / Ft Worth area that sales JL audio Incompetent morons Granted i have never seen or lisen to the W6 but as a rule of thumb your suggesting that the SS T4 subs that i Pounded on Dailly for 3 yrs, in the lanes & for Daily are somehow inferior to a product that iv not been fortunate enuff to hear in a working state... well for the sake of argument ill Concede ! your right im insane for thinking a product should work for more than a day be just a lil more durable, so well lump it under SQ and hide the fact that it can not preform with more than a 100watts... yall win. ill just agree with yall

Guys cool down ! im not on a soap box to hang JL audio. i was just pointing out the facts... i.e. ( LAST NIGHT ) guy comes into the shop with a bad sounding set of subs in a SEALED downfireing box in the back of an SUV we flip the box over and what do i see ??? common take a guess ??? 2x JL W3 12" 1 sub has a piece the surround blowen out and the other had a broken tencel lead...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was a Lousy 600watt mono block that killer them all was custom installed DAmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i did not have a camera or i with show you that JL = you would not believe me but the guy was PISSED ! he bought it the day before... as in they lasted 1 day............... and he paid a pretty penny to have it all Professionaly installed Woooooooooooooooo he was sick when i turned on my system and set off car alarms in the parking lot across the street... a 1/2 block away yall sound like yall own stock in that JL Audio i personally think attacking me is not going to prove your point. JL = that is MY OPINION.

Once again, comparing manufacturers is useless, name a specific product, specific install you heard it in and we can talk specifics. Saying "JL Audio sucks" is completely ignorant when they have a product line as diverse as the W1 and the W6v2. you make a good point all i know is they open the trunk or back doors i see the JL badge on the cone and what im hearing is not worth the money they tell me they paid for that product... i did go to an audio shop that sold JL and asked for a demo and was unimpressed...
