  2. I have a 220A H/o alt for a 01 lincoln LS and I am current running just a stock battery. If I get two other batteries, even though Ive not got my amp yet, and install the alt in my car would there be any damage? Or if I hooked it up now to a stock battery would there be any damage? and second question, I flubbed up and read the ebay post wrong and ordered 2 S3400 from XS power, I wanted D3400s, whats the difference and would I regret using the S over the D series?
  3. X2 you could even have a lumber yard make the cuts for you if you really needed to. Just be patient and put a good effort into it and it will turn out fine Very true, I should look into that but there really isnt much out this way... I will go check though, finally got enough money to put it all together, been 'designing' it for a year now!
  4. I was using a hand saw, sand paper, and 3/4" MDF. Ive never built a box or really anything close to it before...
  5. I feel stupid, I just found the section where I needed to go the first time. Thanks again!
  6. Thank you! I sent him a message asking basically the same thing here. I really want to find someone to build a box for me, I would if I could but I tried and failed miserably.
  7. I just want to hand my numbers off to someone, and have them build it. No one has any ideas?
  8. I need a box for two AA Mayhem 12s, and Ive got the external dimensions, trunk dimensions, port lengths and everything. I just need someone to build it because I am in the Army Active duty living in the barracks and I cannot build a box, I need to order one. Please post if you know if a website, or if you know of someone that can build me one. Greatly appreciated guys!
  9. Alright, and wire them up exactly how I described it above?
  10. If I have D1 12" AA Mayhems and I hook them up to the sundown 4500D by running the voice coils on each sub in series(which makes each sub a 2ohm load) then run them parallel to the 4500D would that give me a ~1ohm load to the amp? Or am I missing something here? Ive been told by many different people who are very well versed in audio that I need D2 and D1 for that amp. Any insight or help? Also the electrical is big 3, 220A alt, 3/0ga run to two 3100D batts, then hooked up to the 4500D.
  11. It would clean it up and it MIGHT allow more current, just a wee bit, to flow more easily.. I would suggest 1/0 just because it rocks
  12. Wait your planning on buying the 1500D for a 1000wrms sub? I dont think I would do that... just me though Maybe go with the 1000D or 1200D.

Those sound pretty sweet, I want a few myself.. Give some to friends and what not.
  14. Son of a B***h lol thats what I meant.. Im on here late at night most of the time and I make mistakes but yea Im going to be having a 1 ohm load for sure.
  15. Just pick whatever amp out of the two that you can afford and make sure you have the electrical to back it up. Alright thanks
  16. alright, then what about which amp would suit me better and would I be better with 2/0 or 3/0 run from the alt?
  17. It would be hard running 4 gauge wire to 8 gauge push terminals on the sub. True.. but where theres a will theres a way.. I kinda feel like 8ga would choke the current, but Im not a pro..
  18. Ok Im going to have a 220A alternator, two D3100 powermasters batts for the amp, and Im getting 2 AA Mayhem 12s D2 voice coils. Would I be better with the 4500D or 3500D on a 12V system? And is there such thing as wire gauge overkill? Say I run a 3/0 run from my alt to my trunk and its about a 20' stretch. Would it be fine using the 3/0? And when I wire the subs I want to use 4ga wire because the amount of power and I want to be 100% sure the wire is letting as much current through as possible. So would using an excessive AWG of wire cause any 'damage' or reduction in power, or would it not matter?
  19. what about the definitions of words like linear, non-linear, ring and the lack of ring, and other words in that paragraph lol
  20. How about no, because then you would lose valuable information. Just suck it up and read it. I learned A LOT.. Im gonna read it a few more times just to make sure I understood and got all I could outta this!
  21. What about you know you have a car audio addiction when your subs can knock Chuck Norris flat on his ass? Everything else has pretty much been said so theres nothing else I can really use...
  22. How are you going to use bolts on an enclosure to join the edges?? I know there is a chemical that is used specifically to do these types of things. But I forget what it's called. It basically welds the plexi together. I think that would really be the correct way to do it. Bolts would look ugly anyways. Right, bolts or screws would kinda mess with it. I sent an emai to the people from that link, hopefully they reply soon. Also let me know if you figure out what the chemical is called, I could use that info haha And he means like predrill a hole and instead of a wood screw use a bolt, minus the nut on the other end. I do believe thats what hes saying.. Ok for the bolt, you could do it. This is what you would do. Ok you have the joint (top and side) so to speak, predrill the hole 1 size smaller than the bolt, and either tap the hole with the same size and thread as the bolt or you could tap the hole with the bolt. You will probably still need a adhesive of some type. Actually you will need to use an adhesive. Also might want to use a washer and countersink the hole so that the bolt will be flush with the outer wall. very helpful, and I definitely plan on the adhesive or at least SOEMTHING to seal the lil gap. I still need to find that stuff that 'welds' the pieces together. What if I just use a blowtorch and melt the edges and in the process kinda round the edges so its smooth all the way around? Either way, I still need to look into it more and I need that reply from the people. I WILL do this, its an awesome idea lol If you don't want to use an adhesive that chemically bonds the two edges together, use clear type II or III silicone caulking. I don't think the blowtorch is going to work for something like this, in theory yes, but reality no, virtually impossible to regulate right to get a good clean seam. Yea I hear that.. oh well Id just like something that sealed down to the littlest particle lol
