The reason I personally recommend the HO over bigger or dual batterys "IF" you can afford it. When I installed my D3400 and D1200 in my car with the factory alternator I though it should cure most of the headlight dimming and voltage drop, Well it didn't. After a minute or two of hard playing and the voltage on the dual batterys dropped and could NOT recover until I turned the volumer down and let the factory alt catch up and recharge the batterys. With that being said, the XS Power batterys are VERY FAST at recovering, which is their claim to fame, So they did do that VERY WELL. Now the reason a HO is better is, the batterys can only maintain high voltage for a short time before needing recarged, BUT the HO can maintain high voltage continuosly by its self. Which do you think is better? Now for the math part, If your amplifiers are demanding 2700 watts or 270 amps (amps x 10 = watts) If you have a 270 amp HO alt you in theory don't even need the battery except to start the car. In real time the battery banks are re-inforcement for dymanic peaks. With all that being said, your amps aren't demanding 2700 watts except at full volume, So realisticly at normal listening levels they are drawing alot less So this is why a stock 130 amp alternator is good enough for most ppl. IS because between the 1300 watts the alt is making, the amplifiers are only using what they need from the battery(s) to fill the void. A good battery is always important also, and if your factory atlernator is keeping up except for the very occassional peak the your probably are good investing in a few better batterys first. I think the reason "most" ppl buy batterys is that its usaully cheaper and they can be added as the budget allows, as with the HO alt, its one BIG LUMP all at once. So my personal advice to you, Jaycee is the same you give every body else, watch your voltage after each upgrade and see what really works. If you can only afford the battery right now, then thats better than nothing and you will want to upgrade the batterys sooner or later anyways even if you did get the HO first. If I could go back I would of did the HO first and I bet I would of only needed one good battery under the hood. BTW I have another vehicle with a Powermaster 200 amp alternator and Warn winch, let me tell you Jaycee, When I installed the HO I experimented with NO batterys and used the winch with the headlights on and they never even change brightness just stayed even kill even with no batterys and turning the winch motor on and off, over and over, VERY IMPRESSIVE. You must have POWER to make POWER.

I just got the high's amp wired in. I am using the Rockford fosgate 400.a4 I already had for now. I will post pic's in a few.

What seires of Bilsteins did you get? I have the 5100's on my Xterra and the 5150's on my blazer and I am a Bilstein man for life now.

The door doesn't feel to bad for all the extra weight. They don't really slam like I was worried about. I didn't get the chance to put any power to them yet as I just got done mounting them right before I had to come to work. I will fire them up in the morning, PLUS shouldn't take long to get the dash pods installed. THE MID-BASS SHALL BE EPIC, BABY!!!!!

I will let you guys know what increments are available as options on the x-over when I get switched to 3-way, I am hoping for tomarrow.

Here's the drivers door with the grill installed. I pulled the drivers pod in more than the passanger pod with the 1/4" bolts, but right now the window just barely catches the back of the specker SO I will have to adjust one more time. from the passanger seat. I should have the dash pods installed in no time!!!!!

I finally concurred the vinyl with the baddass glue and a roller. here's some picture's of the pods mounted with the drivers!!!!! I ran 1/4" bolts through the mounting ring in three places, all the way through the door metal and put a washer and metal lock nut on the inside. the bitch is SOLID. no moving way-so-ever. Its SO SEXY, I couldn't get enough of it!!!!!

I don't know what drivers Sean is going to recommend checking out, But I do have a suggestion on the amp. I was checking out the MB Quarts amp you already have and seen how affordable the are and that they come in in few other sizes. If I was you I would just plan on buying another amp from the same family for your highs. I seen they had a DSC280 and a 4x80, both for dirt cheap right now. How do you like the DSC4125? I might have to buy one for another project I have going, after seing the price to watt comparision on the MB's.

Hurry up and build them doors already.lol. I can't wait to see some more pictures. I love the electronics tackle box, I have a couple myself.

Thanks for clearing that up Nathan. I too agree that an HO alternator is a better first investment over a bigger or dual batterys for a car thats not competing.

What would be the most important factors involved in the installation of the line array that "will make or break things"? So as long as the drivers are as vertical as possible in the line array, then the SQ will be there? this is the caveat that will "make or break" if its SQ I assume.

Good placement, now you just need an image on the inside of your forearm and some background and you'll have a half sleeve,hehe.

I am a member on the fiberglass forum also, There is ALOT of good info and ideas over there. Those guys over there aren't afraid to take a car apart either.
