  1. I know theres one back of the HU you could check, also check you amp as some have multible fuses. This is the first time I have heard of this fuse thing SO I recommend check ALL the fuses you can find. Otherwise you could run RCA's from someone elses cars HU and see if it's the signal or not? that would be the first test I would try after checking ALL fuses and settings.
  2. Heavy Equipment Repair TOP
  3. Its not rocket science, BUT does require ashit load of patience. Just replace one wire at a time until every wire is fixed, this way you don't get confused. IF you don't have the patience find someone who does. I do have the patience. And the service manual Took it all out today and layed out on the floor it doesn't look half bad. I'm going tomorrow to see an identical machine and take pics of whatever part of the wiring that was burnt beyond recognition. Just take breaks when you get frustrated and you will be good. Sometimes I can find a harness out of a junk car or something and use that wiring because then you'll have differant colors and WAY CHEAPER than buying wire new. just make sure the wire size is correct. Good luck.
  4. The MTX 22" is a joke. LOL. I think its the wienner.
  5. I don't think it is, I seen it in someones build log already. I though the same thing though.

  7. Does anyone know which fuse was blown? i.e. back of HU or somewhere else?
  8. Interesting about the fuses. It is always good to check the simple stuff first, and cheaper.
  9. Do you have any bass boost on or the EQ boosted for the sub? Do you have the "sub system" setting on 1 or 2? On setting #2 the sub volume is independent until 20 on the volume, at or above twenty on the volume knob the sub volume level is no longer independent. on setting #1 the sub volume is NOT independent but equel with the main volume at all times. Turn ALL bass boost off and set the EQ flat and report back.
  10. I had my H100 under the drivers seat just like that. Makes changing RCA connections alot easier, not counting you can use shorter patch cables. The box lOoks gOod Brother, Keep up the good work.
  11. More than two batterys won't do you any good without a HO alternator. If you listen while mostly driving I would even recommend the HO before a second battery, as the second batt is only really good for listening with the car off.
  12. Definetly not the deck. You are just reaching the mechanical limits of the sub, but because its so hard to tell when a sub is stressed. So turn the sub control down a little.
  13. I used the same style of fasteners on my 15" BTL. I ordered some 10" grills from madisound and they are pretty thick. As far as enough room for excursion, the midbass drivers I am putting these on have 20mm of xmas. I am mounting the unseen mounting ring upside down and this should give me more than enough. they were only Seven bucks each so that made them worth the try because I was already ordering other stuff that I needed anyways. I can get you exact measurments if you need. I always sent my brother on the clubfrontier.com when he asks me questions. I think I am a member over on clubxterra but only go there when I have an Xterra related question.
  14. I had the tweeters in the a-pillars for about 6 months, they would work BEST up there if you can get them on axis. Otherwise I recommend high in the doors. I only say this because at extremly high volumes they get lost off axis.
  15. I just removed my SPR-17S's today, I have had them for over a year. They will sound P-u-u-r-r-r-fect on 100 watts each. You will like them, Where are you mounting the tweeters?
  16. the no equipmet thing is always a set back. Hurry up and wait. I shall be tuned in any who's.
  17. Wheres all the progress pictures? keep up the good work Brother.
  18. I cant wait to see what you do with that truck. I have an 06' xterra and my brother has the same truck as you. You can buy universal metal grills from Parts-express.com or Madisound.com , both are good companys. Keep up the good work.
  19. I like to hit it hard when I do. My last pods only took 8 hrs but the back of them was wood. I think I am doing good concidering I am building 4 pods at once. I got the resin at the the auto body store, its "Evercoat" brand. It doesn't seem like theres much diff between brands as far as I can tell. I was just wingin' it on the hardner because I was only mixing 8 oz. at a time. I was doing like 35-40 drips for 8 oz. and it started to gel after about 20 minutes. I used like 7 or 8 brushes and a ton of gloves.
  20. More pics as promised. Hum, I think I will cut right here..... The panel cut....... Heres where the ring is going....... Some fabric cut and ready to go........ Heres the prep work...... A shot of where the pocket on the door use to be..... And some pics of the dash preped....... the other side...... And now some fiberglass fabric and resin....... and a little closer, I did three layers of fabric and resin. Heres pics of the dash with Two layers of fabric and resin....... and the other side...... I managed to not get any resin on the car SO I am HAPPY........ Now its time for some of this!!!!! I DIDN'T want to wrap the whole door so these will just be pods. I will make sure they are solid and the door is reinforced also. I will resin some washers into the fabric and bolt ALL THE WAY through the door panel and door metal and probably an oak cross piece inside the door also. I am beat for the day but am HAPPY with the progress. I will start wraping the pods in the morning.
  21. If you can afford to replace, then thats always quicker. I Personally like working on electrical, SO depending on the logistics of fixing I might just get to repairing. time VS. money I guess.
  22. I am about to start resining!!! I have everything preped. Pics in a few.
  23. Good to hear that Brother Chop is working again. Tell him hi for me.
  24. heres the up to the moument progress pictures. I will be starting tho fiberglass as soon as I am done eating lunch. my homemade circle jig. My saw horses, haha. the first one cut, the pieces that are left are only an 1/8 deep. All 4 boogied out, Man does this shit make some saw dust. I rounded the one set of rings at this stage. dry fit. dry fit with grill. Glue time, most my clamps are for welding. the second ring. And lastly, these are for the FF85K's on the dash. The bottoms are scribed to the dash. Until later.
