  1. Right now I am REALLY excited to seal up the front door's and see how much that helps the midbass. I am working on trying ALL the combination's of phasing on the comps to get the flatest response curve. I will hook up the laptop here soon and see what the Imprint mic has to say about the response curve. I will be hooking the type-r's up active once I get the wire ran. The 6.5 sounds great full range actually SO Hopefully the tweeter can keep up. I am guessing the R's passive is around 3400-3500 hz 12db/slope So I will start there. I can't wait to use the H100 to its full potental, and need to start a NOTE LOG so I can remember everything I have tried and what effects it had. Its hard to say at this time what my next front speaker purchase will be? I have a TON of idea's and theory's, but for now I think the type-r's are good speaker's to learn with.
  2. The neighbor's BMW. I like the midnight blue. always funny to see a beamer in a trailer park.
  3. I listened for about 20 min on the way to work. I didn't crank on it yet but I DID still had an eargasium!!! I really think the BTL is going to be a Dr.jeckal/mr.hyde with the right settings. As far as things to still do in the trunk, I ordered some stinger fuse holders that use ring terminals instead. I lost the factory trunk springs to hold the trunk lid open, SO I need to install a gas strut. I DON'T like the way the loops in the battery leads look. So when I change the fuse holders I will make the leads straight. I also will probably dampen the trunk lid. As far as in the front of the car, I still need to dampen and LLP the doors. I am still playing with my fronts and deciding what direction I am gonna go. Right now I just need the get some y-adapter RCA's so I can bridge the F600 and get some serious headroom. I am working on trying different Phasing combos right now. I did get a RF Punch 400a So When I go active I can use that on the tweeters. LOTs and LOTs of headroom. Under the hood I just need to install a fuse on the 1/0 ga alt. power wire and some wire loom. So far my voltage looks OK. Only funny thing is my alternator shuts of about every 20-30 minutes for a minute or two since I installed dual batts. the RF amp and a Roll of 16 ga speaker wire. I have been reading about speakers for a LONG, LONG time now, and feel like I am finally starting to understand What it takes to get the front's set-up right for an SQ set-up. Slowly but surely. ALOT of trial and error, but I am a patient muthafucka.
  4. Impious is a VERY helpful guy. When he talks, I listen. I honestly don't even go on ANY other audio forum's, The tech's on here REALLY help people to understand WHAT they are doing, NOT just tell them WHAT to do. Thanx again. Yes I am a young bull.
  5. The trunk finally buttoned up. Here's a few pictures. The before. The last set-up, I never finished. This was a M650 and F600 amp. The trunk is done for the moment. I have a few other thing's I plan on doing though.
  6. Heres a pic of the last set-up... And what it lOOk's like now. The left side.... The right side..... More pics on the way.
  7. Next I had to Decouple the plastic pieces like the C pillars and the plastic piece over the sub. The LLP come's with a bunch of extra CCF on the edge's that doesn't have any vinyl. GREAT scraps for decoupling. Heres the pics.... The CCF glued where the plastic piece go's..... Another piece glued to the back ot the piece..... I Put taller plastic clips on to make the piece still fit nice..... The CCF and Damplifier under the right C-pillar...... No more rattles..... The other side..... No more rattle over here either!!!! The piece installed over the sub, and the rest of the upholstery!!!!! More pics on the way.
  8. I got the sub installed today!!!!! AND I did take picture's. The LLP under the back set and rear wheel well's.... The front of the right rear wheel well covered in LLP, Wow, These piece's made the MOST difference yet in road noise. Definetly stopping the noise at the source, Short of buying quieter tire's. Like the Goodyear Eagles maybe. The left side..... The foam takes days to dry, I had to do a little every day for like a week solid to fill two speaker hole chambers. I put about 1 1/2 sheets of damlifier on rear deck but NO LLP. There was NO way. The carpet done!!!!!(finally) More pics on the way.
  9. Depending on the lOOk the guy is after, One box look's WAY cleaner. BUT if being able to remove one ONLY is important do the two, beside's this way he's already half way there FTW.
  10. I know I asked you this some where else but I can't find it. Why couldn't you get the Aftermarket HU to work in the RF equipped Xterra? The wife drives our Xterra and she is happy with the RF but I am sure IT will end up mine someday, SO I'd still like to know. For some reason when I hooked up the unit it sent a REALLY loud hiss through the speakers. All we can figure is the 4V pre-amps are too powerful for the shit RF system. I did hook it up in the same truck, with different plugs, and put the RCA's through a house system and NO issues at all. J I wonder what ohm's the RF system is set-up at? I would look over on the Xterra Forum, Maybe more answer's over there? HOW did you wire the HU in? ie through the factory plug? line converter? I searched the topic's and I couldn't find where you where talking about this?
  11. Being at someone else's mercy is WHAT sucks.
  12. Oh I haven't seen you in a while. How ya been? Not bad Lets see here: Got a puppy (cute as hell LOL) Preppin to deploy in a few mths (2nd tour) Wife suddenly might be going with so that means finding a TRUSTED person to watch our puppy for us Paying off bills and working on an install Selling my CRX as its too much work for my ass Found out the Xterra hates anything non stock and I finally got my house looking decent thinking the wife was going to stay here while I left, and now I will have to pull everything out J I know I asked you this some where else but I can't find it. Why couldn't you get the Aftermarket HU to work in the RF equipped Xterra? The wife drives our Xterra and she is happy with the RF but I am sure IT will end up mine someday, SO I'd still like to know.
  13. Do you know when the Blue's website will up? I can't find any info on them?
  14. What's the rest of the equipment list? Are you keeping stock looking interior or changing it up alittle? Anyway's I'm tuned in. Let's see some more pic's already.
  15. Here is pictures of my D3400 and D1200 installed.
  16. You and me both.
  17. A few more pics from the day. Here is the new floor. Also the control panel out for adjutments. I draped carpet inside the hindge holes to hide everything nicely. The exposed wire clamp's getting painted with flat black. I should have more pictures tomarrow.
  18. To get the spare out, I must set the battery up out of the way. THIS EXPLAIN's why the battery leads are looped instead of straight, SO I dont have to unhook everything. I know the battery install would be cleaner with straight runs but unless I enter in an SQ comp they will stay this way. I travel alot and live in the mountains so a spare was a must, PLUS i needed my Feiro sized trunk for my luggage. I know most ppl will tell you to use cardboard for a template but I use a piece of MDF. Infact if I wasn't SOOO ANAL I could of used my template as there was little to NO difference. I built LOG CABIN'S for 5 year's, so I will tell you the trick. If the panel is sliding left for example, first determine HOW far the piece needs to travel left to reach its final resting place, we will use 1" for this example. Now when marking The 1" most ppl don't take in to account to ONLY measure 1" STRAIGHT OUT TO THE RIGHT on a level plain. So any defining point in your scribe will stay on A LEVEL LINE. I usally make square line's off the left edge at all defining points and just measure and mark a 1" on a level plain in a few spots and then connect the dot's. They make a scribe tool with Leveling bubble's for working on round log so you can keep the marks out on a level plain but problaby overkill for our app's. The trunk is NOT all the way done yet, Is why no overall pic's yet. Probably later today.
  19. Here is the left beauty panel in the trunk, aka the control panel. ALL trunk panels are form fit with NO screws holding them in. And the right side, not mch goin on over here. I did Log work for about 5 years if you where wondering about the scribing skills. Here is the floor with all the panels installed. I am VERY happy with the outcome. Oh yeah, here are the before pics, I never finished the last beauty panel because it was temporary. More pics on the way.....
  20. Da trunk battery, take a lOOk see. the before pic, And now the D1200 in it home..... This is without the floor panel installed, more pics on the way.
  21. I finally got the battery's buttoned up, so take a lOOk see...... Here is the before pic.... And now the D3400 in its new home, and the big 3 redone with better wire, and a double run to the back, now all I need is an HO alt........ I still need to install some wire loom, I already have, just ran out of time yesterday..... More picture's on the way.......
  22. Wait for it.....
  23. "Desire, like the atom, is explosive with creative force".
  24. I will be posting pic's today, as it's my day off. I ALSO made ALL my beauty panel's in my trunk form fit, with no screw's. I am a LOW VOLTAGE NUT and LOVE to SOLDER, and yes the soldering and heatsrink turn's 1/2 hour job into a week project. That's ok, the wiring is MY favorite part of installation. As soon as I get the sub set up I will Damplifer and LLP my door's!!!!! I can't wait the hear the difference in midbass and lowing outside noise!!!! I set up MY H100 in the trunk this time, So it will be easier to hook a laptop to and do MY RTA. I took out my rear's also SO imaging is already better, AND WAY EASIER to tune. Just got the front's working yesterday and got a gOOd ear fuckin'!!!!! sub hopefully tomarrow? Who know's though when your as anal as me about detail's.lol.
