  1. Thanks. I grew up in my dad's deisel mechanic shop and he took "pride in workmanship" So you could say I learned from the best. This might explain why I build things so Heavy Duty? Also you are only as good as your tools....
  2. The bottom only hangs about an inch under the bumper, the muffler on the other side hangs about 3" down and the tail pipe sticks from there. I don't think it should be a problem. I will spray the under side with rubberized undercoating.
  3. You get what you pay for....
  4. The things I will do to have a trunk the size of a Fiero.LOL. Actually I just love building shit. Anyway I wanted the battery under the floor with the spare..... so thats what I get!!! Hum.....I think I will put the D1200 here..... First test fit..... the frame work.... the fineshed battery tray..... an inch is as good as a mile..... The board is where the back o' the box will be..... Probly just screw and silicone the bich' in place..... My mock D1200...... My nephew just got his first car, and I will be hooking up his 2 12's ,deck , amps, and speakers SOOO, I think he will be scrumbing out the trunk for me!!!
  5. No need to dig it up just for me. I'm sure I will hear what you think of them. I did go to their web site and check em' out. I like that long skinny look, makes my gears turn thinking of differant ways to mount them!!!
  6. I can see the Gears turning from here... Damn that ap30001d is affordable, how do the perform?
  7. I have a powermaster 200amp in my chevy. I have had this alt for 7-8 years now, Definetly a name you can trust. My is part number 48202. Don't buy cheap you will regret it.
  8. The 3400 and 1200 will be Perfect for your set up. you can mount the bigger battery in the front and small in rear with the same results. this is the way mine is set up.
  9. Are you still planing on the horns and XS-69 midbass? I'm sure I'll try horns some day, I bet they have that "in your face" effect? Never heard any. I am real interested in the ID XS-65 comps, Probably the matching midbass Or the XS-69 also. I have to drive 200 miles to hear them though. Do you read the ID forum at all?
  10. Thanks for the props Guys!!! I think the Wire will be just fine the way it is. The elements aren't going to hurt them and They are fused on both ends if the ever get cut. As you can see in the picture the wires dip up in the middle of the car where the frame scrapes.
  11. I remember waiting for my BTL. Don't forget the pictures!!!
  12. I Finally got my double run of 1/0 put in. With only the one run under the carpet it was already breaking my trim pieces. So I went under the car. Made a bracket to mount the two waterproof fuses under the hood.... Had to bend the bracket..... with the air filter tube re-installed Another view.... looking from the front of the car..... from the back of the car....notice where the dip up is, Thats the center of the car where it scrapes so the wire should be safe. I am also installing a fuse at both ends of both wires..... Coming into the trunk....ignore the exrta hole, it has nothing to do with anything.
  13. Wheres the box?
  14. Right now I only have the stock alt. But I have CS-130 case 200 amp Powermaster alternator (pn48203) I will adapt to the honda this summer. The CS-130 case Is BIG so we will see. I think at that point I should be good as good gets. FEEL THE POWER!!!
  15. Secondary batteries provide more power, because they are not being used to provide power to operate the vehicle. When you hook to batteries up together it optimizes the internal pressure of the battery which in turn allows the batteries to produce more power individually. So if I think of current as water, Then the starting battery in nearest to the vehicles power needs so ALL or MOST current flows from the starting battery? So the sum of the two is greater than its parts alone?
  16. THe F*cking cutout dim. FI gives you is BIG so the hole is little big. I think it will be fine with T-nuts. I got some cool dark gray stone looking textured paint for the port, Should look match the charchol carpet nicely! The fiberglass was pointless and I won't be doing anymore. I was under the wrong impression as to why people use it. Now I know. I am working on the battery box, 1/0 ga ran, spare tire mount fixed and then I can do the box. Time is a premium around here right now. Don't worry I am taking pictures.
  17. Sweet car. THATS a midget right?
  18. SSA is such a great place to learn. School is in......
  19. Get the biggest box you can and be done with it! I follow the laws.
  20. The conclusion to this topic is Fiberglass will NOT make an audible difference when used in an enclosure. Fiberglass MAY have benefits if you are chasing tenths on the meter But could also hurt you. You will NOT know without testing. All materials have a purpose, But are USELESS when used in the wrong application. If you want to make an enclosure stronger you should use bracing instead. The ONLY use for fiberglass in a regular enclosure would be for the corners, even then the benefit is probly marginal. For the average person like me wondering if Fiberglass is for you, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. (learn from my mistakes) That is ALL. J-Road
  21. You DA Man, Nathan. Can you expain a little more about internal pressures and why secondary batterys product more Watts?
  22. but i thought when the impedance is higher, the amp has more control over the cone... resulting in more accurate reproduction?... Not an audible differance, If you are refering to damping.
