I’d be scared to death driving my Mustang in the winter. lol On a serious note I’m sure the BM’er was engineered with better weight distribution than any RWD I personally have driven in inclement weather.

You are probably right. In this case ignorance truly is bliss. I will definitely test drive some BM'ers the next time I need to buy a car. I admit the price of a used one is more affordable than I imagined. As far as rwd vs fwd on ice and snow, we will have to agree to disagree.

I've required an extra couple cups a few days this week. Which was good as i'm not measuring shit making that first pot. I use a stove top kettle and pour when it starts rattling, thinking it was almost boiling. Boiling being 200 degrees at my altitude. I tend to use a little less when I spoil myself with single origin beans. Maybe 2/3's cup. None under the $20 a pound mark to suggest though. https://store.kauaicoffee.com/kauai-coffee-er-mundo-novo-p11.aspx https://citizenbean.com/pages/prices Love a good Guatemalan bean too!

Great power to weight ratio. Unless we are comparing to the 600 horse M5.

Every time I look at German cars, I end up back at the 300hp turbo’d Honda. More reliable and newer car for the same price.

Lucky. I usually have to shut the ringer off and misplace the phone for a day or so every week for that effect.

Alright brofessor, I checked my water temp for you. I’m brewing at about 190 degrees. Also measured the coffee after grinding. Was still almost a cup.

I didn’t realize I used that much, until I measured this morning. Was kind of shocked actually. After using the press for years now, I just wing it to taste. Guess I like my bean water on the extra dank side. Lol

Roughly 1:4 ratio. That’s with a heaping unground cup of beans. 200° for water temp. 4 minutes of steep time. Whole beans ground at the time of use is paramount. I use a cheap grinder and like there to be a little bit of very fine powder. Gives the coffee an extra nutty flavor. The 1 cup of beans makes 2 actual coffee cups worth. lol

I have always made chili with ground meat, If at all. I’m thinking of switching it up. Curious what you guys think of cubed up steak chili? Or any other suggestions. Just don’t want it to end up like stew.

Also started soaking some beans for chili. Usually let them soak for two days to get all the farts out of them.

< off to the market for a pork shoulder and dried peppers. I blame it on you Matt!

You got to do what you gotta do. Sometimes the help is good, even if only as a crutch. Can be hard to get ahead of oneself sometimes. I am 30 pounds up from where I was this time last year. Who knows if it’s age, or being less active or what. Either way I’m happy so who gives a fuck. lol

I can say I've been there there a few times and don't envy you Neal. LOL

If you get the chance try a smoked pulled pork burrito or enchilada. That’s a whole nother level of goodness right there!!

Second worst thing about traveling. Finding a decent cup of coffee every morning. That’s when I really miss my press. First being a comfy bed.
-
Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I could drink two pots of drip and not be satisfied. One cup off the press is usually more than enough... most days.

The coffee plantation I visited made all the coffee in their tasting room with jumbo French presses. One could swing by that place as many times as one wanted and chug free coffee. Not that one visit wasn’t enough. lol

Get some Cotija cheese and you’ll really be eating like a Mexican.
