humming noise from amp
smashedz28 replied to irvin productionz's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electricalif you have another amp laying around you could try swapping them. if the other one does the same thing your wiring may be the problem, if it works fine your amp may be damaged or something

Aero ports
insipid? i take it you meant to write "inside" of the box? If thats what you meant i didnt know that, but good to know and ill make sure to take that advice. thanks.

Aero ports
Thats a good option, not sure if i could pull it off but good to know. Think im just going to use the dayton 3" kit which from reading several reviews is actually 2.75" ID, it will lower tuning a little but should be fine. thanks.

Aero ports
alright, i thought about just using straight up PVC but i wanted the flares that come with the kits. Does anyone know if the precision port kits http://www.psp-inc.com/products_3.html are compatible with regular old 3" PVC elbows, if they are then thats all i needed to know.

Aero ports
lol, thanks. does anyone have any hands on experience with the dayton aero port kits? They are advertised as 3" ID but a reviewer has said differently and im not sure how creditable that person is.

Aero ports
Im going to building a box here shortly that will use aero ports. Reason for this post is to hopefully find someone who has dealt with my particular problem before. Box will require 3 aero ports each about 17" in length 3" in diameter. An experimental ABC box. although i have no more than about 11.5" depth to work with (internal) The box will be going into a s10 so not a ton of depth to play with. I will need to use elbows in my ports. I really like the precision port kits but they dont seem to offer an elbow attachment. I took a look over at parts express and it appears Dayton makes kits that do offer an elbow..although reading a review on the elbow piece someone says the ID of the elbow is not a true 3" which will throw off tuning obviously. At first i wanted to just buy a few precision port kits and just purchase the dayton elbow but that same reviewer says that doesnt work, so i need something else to use. Has anyone ever used aero ports with elbows successfully? What kits did you use as far as brand? Im also going to need flared ports so that is another thing that needs to work together. If you have some useful advice or links to products i would really appreciate the help.

Big 3 question...
for your application it shouldnt be a problem, people say its garbage but its just fine unless your doing a very high powered install. I think CCA will be just fine for you. If you have budget for the other then why not?

Big 3 question...
get some string and measure up the runs you will need to make, add it all up and add an extra foot or 2.

How much did you spend on deadening?
X2, Don is the man, i think i bought just ~$60 or so worth of CLD tiles and if used as he suggests you could do ALOT with that. Email him and tell him what exactly your doing and he will tell you what's needed. great guy. im glad im not the only one!
