  1. wish i would have knew that when i built mine :-/ did sub on driverside port on passenger side facing forward. might need a redesign soon lol, not happy with mine thats for damn sure
  2. if there installed and you dont wanna pull em out of the box just use a multimeter at the wires you put into the amp, should give you a good idea of how they are wired.
  3. your sundown saz 1500 will power that thing nicely, i got a saz 1500 going to my 18" btl gen 2 and i love it.
  4. well said. 2 completely different woofers. if your looking for a clean sounding woofer go with the Q
  5. alot of people either dont care about the rear because they dont sit back there or just push it to the side and spend more money on something else. I would think rear speakers could only help also.
  6. Bromo is doing free designs right now over on ca-f . he just got done doing one for me, i cant see your 'box builder' having any trouble building bromo's designs. http://www.caraudio-forum.com/forum/forum/34-eclectic-enclosure-designs/ he does accept donations though

i love the current dustcaps, think its cause every sub ive used with the dish style has been a piece of shit. sure there not all like that though.
  8. I just finished doing a box in mine, 3.34 cu ft turned at about 33 and its huge in there. probably squeeze out 4 cubes and still keep it at the window line but that will be tough. when building the box pay close attention to where your seat is comfortable and where the woofer sits, even when sitting in the seat where comfortable the seat pushes back farther and if the woofer is in the way you will have to move the seat up, real pain in the ass for me. in sefugi's design the woofers can sit low where it isnt an issue. also plan the port placement. dont want the port pushed right up against the back of a seat. port up would work for that.
  9. yea it is your design. awesome design!! im sure once i get tired of this Q 15" im going to scrap what i got and make something clean like you did there. probably do that design with 2 BL's or something when money permits.
  10. welcome to my world lol, had a hell of a time with my s10 extended cab, ill share with you the 2 pics i have found for these trucks. i personally went with the 1st one holding a 15" Fi Q. these pics helped me
  11. i have a 98 s10 4.3 v6, i can get any pic you may need?
  12. heard nothing but good about chris over at db-r, should be in good hands.
  13. check all connections first. then wait for the rest of these guys to give you other instructions also provide a little more information for us. what ohm load are you running? size of current wires.. sure there is more stuff but i cant think of it now. good luck.
  14. on another note those video's have got to be good for business.. youtube being so big and anyone can use it, good advertising.
  15. just never really paid attention to it before for some reason, havent really used this amp on more than 1 setup. thanks for clarifying.
  16. ok, started getting that impression when i got a close up pic of the amp, never really looked at it that closely. should label the damn thing more clear! Thanks
  17. this isnt my exact amp, found the pic somewhere, but it is the same amp i have, notice the 50hz on the ssf? lol, am i reading this damn thing wrong or something?
  18. As the title says this will be about the older fosgate 1000.1bd. Im not sure i understand the class"BD" thing? how does that compare to a regular just class D amp? Also im going to have to double check but im almost positive the SSF on the amp at its lowest setting is only 50hz, can that hurt me at all as far as sub performance? i have a box tuned in the 33hz area. just looking for any kind of technical answer to help understand this amp better and decide if it needs to be put up in the garage and replaced lol.
  19. if my ears start to hurt.. i turn it down.
  20. ive heard a Q 12" on an audiopipe 1500d, cheap amp and sounds great. friend of mine has it, i built his box to fi's specs for the 12". sounds decent. Q takes every bit of the Ap1500 with no problems. Although its at a 1 ohm load.
  21. ive played with the 12" Q and a 15" Q. dont think thats what you want, each time ive installed one i was looking for something just like you described and havent got it yet. tried 3 different boxes for the 12" and only 1 for the 15".. 12 was in a trunk car also, 15 in a truck. clean as hell though. Just doesnt have that .. "oh shit" effect. I would go 15" mayhem, or the xcons (havent heard them but sure they will do it also). just my 2 cents. as far as design im no help so ill leave that to these guys. the mayhem being equivalent to the BTL which i do have experience with will for sure give you the 'oh shit!" effect. edit, for what its worth the Q setups both consisted of 1 sub per vehicle, not 3.
  22. think this is gonna be one of the crazier lookin boxes ive seen. tuned in
  23. LOVE the educated answers WITH excellent info to back it up. this was some what of a concern to me as well.. now its not.
