Welcome to the IHoP
I do enjoy it. Nothing is the same. The red tape of university makes me beat my head against a wall though.

Not that I manage 12mil, just work with a lot of projects. I build fixtures, fix machines, install machines, supervise grad and undergrad workers, do testing with servohydraulic machines (400,000lb is the biggest one), etc. They pay me to build, then break stuff.

I'm at the shop today. Had to supervise some undergrads. What do you do? I run one of the shops for the college. Basically I help facilitate all research, labs, and lab classes within the dept. Currently have ~12mil total in projects ongoing right now in the dept.

I am coming to get you. Here come's the spam!! Beating your ass at this point..... I used to average WAY more than that. Actually read every post in the hop as well until a month ago when I left completely. Way more time when I don't read posts outside of here. Lies! I know when it says "Spam starting, skip to 12206" you didn't read through it and just skipped to that page. Ramos's rambling spam was the best.

Why? Wikipedia is a great tool for writing. It's literally the first place I go when I write an academic paper. Why start from scratch when you can go to wiki first, push "page down" a couple times and check out all their sources? Then if you need more professional information you can THEN start searching through journals and such. Define academic.

I drove it from Des Moines, IA to Manhattan, KS and thought it was cool for about 5 minutes until I realized how far I had to go in it.

I do miss those tires. Their road roar made me feel like I was driving some monster or something. My girlfriends mom has a jeep with those on it. I drove it a lot these weekend to and from her Oma's house to go hunting. I now realize why Jeep people love driving them so much. it's like a big four wheeler and those tires seem to grip so well. I've driven Jeeps and still don't have a clue what people are so in love with. Sure, if it never touches pavement its nice, but as soon as its on pavement I don't see why people like them.

You can test your current sensors with a DMM to see if they are bad before wasting money on new ones. If the sensors test good then its something in the path of the signal. I had a car that filled the plug holes with oil like that too. LOL shit didn't think of that. too late i bought the sensor. but i measured all three (replacements and original). but i got some weird shit.. there are 3 pins; signal, power, and low. the original and first replacement i bought have the same values when measured. the newest one has different values. (all in the mega ohm range) i haven't found the correct values yet. maybe i'm not searching for the right information. i could assume that the original and first replacement are both bad, and the newest is fine. however, i dont have a scan tool to clear the code. right now im trying to clear it by disconnecting the battery. i have access to a shitty manual from alldatadiy.com, it suggests that disconnecting the battery is not the correct way to clear that code and that it might not actually clear it. You will most likely have to clear the code with a code reader, disconnecting the battery won't do it.
