  1. Steel toes? I got some for work only to find out later that they're actually a composite toe. They said steel toe on a tag, but they sure felt lighter. I didn't know they made composite until I found out when a metal detector wouldn't pick up the steel toe and figured out why. But they're awesome, feel like hiking boots but are durable as heck plus the protection. I put on my old actual steel toes for comparison and those feel like hauling around a brick. Or three. Nope, never had steel toe boots, don't feel the need for them in my work environment. Went went Ariats again though, my last pair of Ariat work boots are going on about 5 years of hard use and still are in one piece, would be better shape if they hadn't had liquid fertilizer spilled on them, it just kills leather like no other.
  2. A&M is too. They hired 100 prof's in one shot last year. They claim their goal is to be #1. Funny, not how I'd go about becoming #1. I thought #1 was quality not quantity, guess I don't know how they do things in Texas...
  3. How are you going to use bolts on an enclosure to join the edges?? I know there is a chemical that is used specifically to do these types of things. But I forget what it's called. It basically welds the plexi together. I think that would really be the correct way to do it. Bolts would look ugly anyways. Right, bolts or screws would kinda mess with it. I sent an emai to the people from that link, hopefully they reply soon. Also let me know if you figure out what the chemical is called, I could use that info haha And he means like predrill a hole and instead of a wood screw use a bolt, minus the nut on the other end. I do believe thats what hes saying.. Ok for the bolt, you could do it. This is what you would do. Ok you have the joint (top and side) so to speak, predrill the hole 1 size smaller than the bolt, and either tap the hole with the same size and thread as the bolt or you could tap the hole with the bolt. You will probably still need a adhesive of some type. Actually you will need to use an adhesive. Also might want to use a washer and countersink the hole so that the bolt will be flush with the outer wall. very helpful, and I definitely plan on the adhesive or at least SOEMTHING to seal the lil gap. I still need to find that stuff that 'welds' the pieces together. What if I just use a blowtorch and melt the edges and in the process kinda round the edges so its smooth all the way around? Either way, I still need to look into it more and I need that reply from the people. I WILL do this, its an awesome idea lol If you don't want to use an adhesive that chemically bonds the two edges together, use clear type II or III silicone caulking. I don't think the blowtorch is going to work for something like this, in theory yes, but reality no, virtually impossible to regulate right to get a good clean seam. Yea I hear that.. oh well Id just like something that sealed down to the littlest particle lol With square edges and knowledge of a caulking gun it isn't very hard to do.
  4. Finally broke down and bought a new pair of work boots. I forgot the joy of having to break in a new pair of boots, yay...

Also might want to use a washer and countersink the hole so that the bolt will be flush with the outer wall. That is NOT how you tap a hole, please learn how to do it before you start giving advice on that. First off figure out what size bolt (technically a screw in this instance) you would like to use, then look at a chart like this one http://www.kramerusa.com/DrillTapChart.htm to find the corresponding drill size for the hole to tap. After that is drilled, use a tap, there are several different styles depending on what you are doing, find whats best for your use. Then tap the hole using the tap, not a bolt, that is asking to break the Plexiglas.
  7. I didn't see where anyone mentioned how ridiculously expensive thick plexiglass is in any real quantity. A 1" thick piece of Acrylic 2' x 4' is 250$ brand new for some reference. For cutting it we cut it on the table saw or band saw depending on what we are doing with it. Joining it we use type II silicone and drilled and tapped holes and bolt the pieces together.
  8. Finally, I get to relax after the week. Holy crap I didn't think I could be this busy.
  9. Electrical gremlins are a bitch to find, even worse to get rid of...
  10. Get it working most of the way and sell it as fast as you can, then run the other damn way with the money. You can't turn a lemon into gold...
  11. Sure it isn't something next to it making noise. I'm not sure, if it is it is a nasty resonate frequency of something in there, but either way the dash needs to come off at some point in time.
  12. I don't believe you Ryan. Tell us how you really feel...
  13. I've got to much shit...
  14. And a PPI 4ch amp that is unused, and I still have an unused 2ch RF amp that I picked up off of Ryan1 that is going to power that Mag once it makes it way into my car.
  15. Along with a 12" SI Mag v4 that is brand new...
  16. I have 4 Dayton 7's I might be able to shove in the doorpanels, but eh, I have 4 new MLI 6.5's in my closet as well.
  17. Sad part is I think I have everything necessary for it sitting in my close, only problem is that I'll have to get more power/gnd wire since all I have is 1/0 and I only need something around the 8ga size.
  18. Ordered the exhaust for the woman's Audi today, get to install that probably next weekend. Then I get to work on the damn radio and probably end up installing a little setup in that using some left over MLI 6.5's and MDT 29's
  19. Although when it comes off, going to try some polyfill in the dash and doing something with the baskets on those 'peekas.
  20. I think one of my FF85k's went funky on me... Not looking forward to taking that damn dash back off.
  21. Welcome, wheres Toto?
  22. Did he get the whole thing free then?
  23. Time to go out shopping, get some cleaning supplies and beer, then proceed to clean the house and drink way to much.
  24. Ordered a new case assembly for my phone today, everything but the actual phone part, and an Otterbox case for it. I don't know how I do it but I am hard as hell on phones, hopefully it'll last a bit longer with a real case on it.
  25. I only work for free for a select few people, everyone else gets charged.
