  1. Personally, I don't think I'd go this route and I even drive a Cadillac. Have you looked at the V series? They should make your right foot happy and then some. Also, what about the Chrysler 300 w/ the big engine? I believe teh Captain has one and last time I heard he liked it.
  2. Seen it before, disappointing performance from a particular individual as usual.
  3. I either need to start using some of this stuff I have laying around or start selling it...
  4. Wow, I just realized I have one of the new SI Mag's still sitting unused in the box in my closet, forgot I even had it.
  5. Good money in that too, in particular if you look at it from an understanding point of view. I had applied for a job with Terracon for materials testing, mainly concrete at new building sites. But they were only paying like $13 an hour. I thought that was ridiculous. Making cylinders and flexural beams just isn't all that fun...
  6. I don't see sparks with Tig.
  7. Indeed. Robot welding is cool, Friction Stir welding is downright awesome though.
  8. Simple my ass. I'm not spending that much damn money. What exactly do you mean by L/R eq bands? Left and right? So you are running one of those equalizers that you can adjust 16 bands individually? Did you use one of those meters to tune it? The tubes are the most expensive part of this setup. The 12ax7 are only $12 each new... The problem comes with powering them off a battery. I have a vibrator to do it, but I just need two batteries then to obtain the required 24V for operation. Unless I can find a 12V vibrator for cheaper than a second battery... Why on god's green earth do you want tubes for a car?? Don't get me wrong I do enjoy them on the right full range horn configuration in a house, but a car??
  9. It drives me up a wall when people call anything done on a lathe 'lathing'.
  10. I do dealings with those people occasionally. They are getting masters in engineering. That's something else I wish I could fit into my resume. "Actually knows how to use a welding machine." welding "machine" ? Least I'm not the only one who found that as an odd way to describe it, although perfectly accurate and correct.
  11. Yep; parents had an Aerostar with the Vulcan, both my sister's Taurus and my Ranger had them as well. Saying they can go through hellfire and brimstone is a understatement. We rock out with the Astro vans, that 4.3 takes a beating and asks for more. The ford 300ci I-6 is pretty damn indestructible too.

  13. Working on some Sam Adams Octoberfest right now. Payment for welding for a guy. One of these days I need to stop working for beer.
  14. Would he argue that taking it isn't gay?
  15. sounds like a good show. I've had grad students say they could mix 5ft^3 of concrete better by hand with a hoe then the mixer could.... AH, don't remind me. I have to set a pole and base for a handicap sign tomorrow. It better be warmer out. At least for that there is nothing special, this was for a damn test mix for research.
  16. Hasta Luego Senor

  18. Personally I don't want any company that is big. I want to have my own means and have something small enough I can do the work myself (or have a good hand in), stay honest, make a quality product and be happy with what I put out.

  20. What kind of TC and whats it going in? Turbo Coupe Nice! *offtopic* My boss's son learned years ago that to big of an engine on the wrong kind of torque converter will flatten the vanes out on it... But he was at that time running somewhere upwards of 1,500hp though...
  21. I know I don't want to have any dealings with livestock for the rest of my life.

  23. I've always hung out with people older than myself, just seemed to get along better.
  24. Growing old is mandatory, up is optional.
  25. I didn't see any walkers or canes when I was up at your house, did you hide them that well?
