If you don't want to pony up the cash for it, I KNOW he won't either I know he wants to reload his 223. I'm sure there is more but thats all I know of. I'd probably go with a single stage Lee 'O' frame press if it was me then, they seem like a pretty decent press (my boss has one) and are fairly cheap. http://www.leeprecision.com/ Their website isn't working for me right now though...

So can you say what you are doing down in Wichita Sean?

But reloading gear is a lot of preference and what works for you... Also get a good reloading book, (like the Hornady one for example) and stick to it and load conservatively to start with so you don't have a KaBoom on your hands...

MK, what type of reloading is your friend looking to start doing? Rifle, pistol, plinking, target, what? He should start poking around forums, Lee and Dillon are two companies to start looking at. Some people say just get a Dillon 650 to start with and be done with it, I know other people who have loaded a couple years and ~50,000rds on a single stage press before getting a progressive. Personally I'm not sure what I'm going to go with yet for loading .45ACP, I'm thinking I might go with a Lee Pro 1000 for starters, would like a Dillon 650, but don't want to pony up that cash.

No disrespect to you Kent, but no need for a high accuracy duty weapon, it seems like a lot of LEOs can't shoot all that well anyways... *edit* Most people can't shoot well with a handgun anyways...

I'll agree with you Kent on wanting a SIG 220, but playing with one when I bought my CZ; for 300$ more on a used gun, it was nicer, but nowhere near that nice...

Also might try looking into CZ pistols if you want a full steel frame handgun. The CZ-97 is a double stack .45ACP that is a heck of a gun for the price and pretty darn accurate too. The CZ-75 you can get in 9/.40 and is also suppose to be a very good gun too.

Because its Kansas... There are some really good places to eat in the state, you just have to know where the little hole in the walls are, but there are plenty of 'restaurant in a box' places if you like that (Applebees, Old Chicago, etc, etc), but I can eat those anywhere... The brewery that is in Old Town serves some pretty decent beer I think, but haven't really tried to many restaurants that I could rave about in Wichita, I know the woman realllllllly loves the sushi at Sumo's there in town. Course then in my opinion there is no place to get excellent food here in Manhattan either, all we have is choke-n-pukes and typical chains. I am not so interested in Sushi in a town this blue collar. podunk sushi ftl, great way to get sick. Not quite sure I'd call Sumo's podunk, it is suppose to be really good and run by a japanese chef, teh woman use to work there and still loves it.

Sean: Its out of your way, but inbetween Abilene and Newton on highway 15, there is a small town named Durham, there is a Mennonite restaurant in 'down town' there (2 blocks west of the gas station) that serves some damn good food. Good old fashion cooking, 10$ for a buffet, and friday nights, lord is it good.

Also learned today that if you are bored, you can weld .0625" Chrome-molly tubing with an 1/8" rod on an arc welder as long as you don't fuck around at all...
