  1. It's the weekend. About the only productiveness allowed in my book is working on the house. However, since I don't own one, I am not productive on the weekends . I'm being productive on making some 'peekas.
  2. I'm not up on what is the new craze in the DSLR world anymore, but I'm a big fan of Canons. To me they are very well laid out and take great photos. Don't worry about getting the highest megapixel camera you can, they are severely overrated IMO for most people, its all about the glass and knowing how to use what you have. Any special purpose for the camera or just want to have a quality camera for everyday use? For under 600$ from BH Photo you can get a EOS Rebel XTi with their 18-55 lens, from what I remember from running one of those they are a very nice camera and would work pretty well for you. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/4575...#specifications Just kinda depends on what your looking for and what you want to spend.
  3. I'd like everyone to observe a moment of silence for our long lost friend who has just passed on to the wood working tool heaven. As of 20min ago, my Jasper Jig was involved in a climbing accident where he fell from his perch on top of a work bench and shattered into three pieces. His loss is not going unnoticed, his valiant bravery broke the fall of my plunge router and let it live on to continue its quest of making sawdust for the rest of its long life. *pissed*
  4. Just a construction note... Next time you build a frame like that, a way to make it even easier is if you attach everything together using a pocket hole jig. They work very nicely for doing things like that. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores...25X-_-100401259
  5. Got the plans done, cut sheet done, and time to hit the shop.
  6. I'm headed to the shop to see what I can make for a 1 cube box for those 12" LTA's...
  7. Speaking of college football, going drinking over at a buddy's house and watching K-state get smashed this afternoon...
  8. why? Don't have room for them now, they are getting more beat up looking *long story, don't care to tell it currently, nothing to exciting*, everyone I find that wants to buy them back out on me, getting tired of looking at them in my house just collecting dust, and they are huge. Figure just take the skill saw and cut up the seams, use the ply for the amp rack and sub box in my Cadillac and use the drivers for some smaller size PA monitors or something. I have the 12" Eminence LTA driver, Fostex FT17, 100w L-pad, and come caps and inductors. Wouldn't take much at all to make some monitors.
  9. What was the Qts on those moofers? .51
  10. Ok, I'm about one step away from dismantling my BBBIB's and be done with them...
  11. Sounds good to me. No desire for a stubby shotgun, but a silencer would be cool.

The sub has been purchased for some time now. Is there any downfall to running just one coil? The only real downfall is that you will loose some power handling but can't remember anything beyond that. Adire had a paper out on that if anyone can find it, I'm not sure what happened to it.
  13. I woke up to 39* and 15mph winds... Three days ago I woke up to 55* with a high of 75*...
  14. Class canceled for today.
  15. Yay for beer!
  16. Time to go drink beer at the neighbors.

For speakers I'd look at something like the Fonkens http://www.planet10-hifi.com/fonken.html *plans are on the left side of the page* Either that or a good set of headphones, personally I'm a fan of the Sennheiser brand.
  18. Those look like Fountek Neo ribbons so that is 2500$ worth of drivers in a pair of them...
  19. Those look a lot like the Hi-Vi drivers on PE
  20. I'm back for now, sn00kums, at least until the bus gets here. Hey, if they're paying for it, one of those six-foot BG planars Somehow I'm not sure they would want to foot that one, plus I'm not sure that it would keep up...
  21. With a 12" C-C spacing on the drivers I could run them up to 1kHz before running into issues. I can build a horn to dip down past that to pick up the high end. I'm liking this idea even more...
  22. Line array of 10's with a custom horn on the side?
  23. The other thing that comes to mind for the bar audio setup is that I do have 160 10" drivers, and it would be a very cheap, very big, very loud line array, with some serious midbass. Just need to find somewhere to get the drivers tested to see wtf they actually are... Anyone know if Mark can test 'peekas?
  24. better watch out, Jim is handsy... So thats how he expects to pay bills while he is here...
  25. Rule 1: Enjoy drinking beer Rule 2: Enjoy building stupid outrageous shit because you can Rule 3: Think outside the box Rule 4: Speak English Rule 5: Don't be an idiot Somehow I think you have those covered...
