I've brought a .177cal air gun to a range, but the one I play with sure as hell isn't your standard pellet gun. You could bring a pellet gun to a range, but a backyard and a makeshift target holder would work just as well and be a lot cheaper.

Curiosity is piqued. What do you mean by get one? Figure out what size you want within reason, and have my friend thats family owns the counter top shop find a scrap piece and set it up on the CNC router and cut it out and I toss a little bit of cash his way for his time. Depending on the size of the scrap you want depends on how soon it could be available. They do have some big arse scraps if you don't mind a scratch.
