  1. It is moving north east so I do believe it will miss us.
  2. Apparently it just hit campus... Hmmm.... We are 4 blocks west of campus.
  3. Hmmm, tornado heading this way apparently. Was standing on the porch and it was nice and calm, then the wind picked up and started raining and sounded like a freight train in the distance for a little bit, kinda went away and I decided to head back downstairs.
  4. Tornado Warning for my area right here, chillin in the basement on teh laptop, debating on playing Call of Duty 4...
  5. All depends on what your doing. Drag racing and city traffic I'll take an auto any day of the week.
  6. If it downshifts and raises the RPM's without you pressing on the fuel pedal, more fuel is not going into the engine. It is then using the compression stroke to slow down the engine to match the fuel input that you are giving it with the accelerator pedal. That is how I understand it.
  7. When in gear you are using engine braking which is using the compression stroke of the engine to absorb some of the energy, coasting eliminates this and puts all the energy into the brakes. The only way the brakes have to dissipate heat is through the surrounding air, to hot and you run into fading and failure.
  8. I engine brake, coasting is hard on brakes. Engine breaking also shuts off the injectors. Throwing it into Neutral will remove all ability to accelerate in emergency situations. I was about to post about the accelerate in emergency, and the brakes issue. But was wondering if anyone else would add their .02$
  9. If you do the coasting in neutral and you gain 1.5mpg, and drive a 100,000mi this way you are only saving like 4.5% on your fuel bill. *given 16 to 17.5mpg, 4.50$ fuel and my doing my figures right*
  10. And curious, where was this information found and how did they come to these conclusions? I'm not being an ass, just curious.
  11. Can't say that I would coast in neutral in a vehicle for any extended period of time. To my knowledge the transmission fluid pump is driven off of the input side not that tail shaft so I would think that if you did that you might not get enough fluid pumped through the tranny and could shorten the life of it. Also you run the risk of accidentally slipping it up into reverse and fucking things up. Sure you may be careful 99% of the time on that one, but is saving a little bit of money on fuel really worth the extra risk on fragging the transmission? Now on the new fully electronic controlled ones, I don't know if it will even try to slip into reverse while going that speed.
  12. Does anyone have the beer La Folie from New Belgium Brewery in their town? The only place I know of that it exists is in Ft. Collins, Colorado... The liquor stores here can't even get it and it is some reallly good stuff.
  13. Better rain than the hail that we got the other day.
  14. Put 91octane in there to see if it likes it any better.
  15. Filled up the Caddy, got 22mpg, and that includes city driving and hot rodding around.
  16. Walk by, I wonder wtf they had the 'trunk' popped for, Tom and I get up there and we both comment on how we had to take a photo of it for you.
  17. Whoa, theres room for a box of upwards of 12ft^3 in a Jeep??? Plus with that much displacement I would figure you would undo the soft top anytime you rolled into the volume knob.

I said nothing of building a table saw, just gave an idea for cutting easier with a skill saw. Personally I find little cheapo table saws worse than a decent skill saw, but then I'm spoiled by cabinet saws.

Nope, Biesemeyer is a good brand, and I've heard really good things of Incra's fences (but those are more than your whole budget...). Quick question, have you ever used a table saw before or anything?
  20. topgun replied to nickeveready's topic in Off Topic
Powermatic is one of my favorite table saws that I could even think of affording. I won't mention sliding table cabinet saws and what not... Rather than spending a little bit of money on a small pos table saw, I personally would rather build a cutting table, fence setup, and buy a good skill saw.
  21. What engine do you have? The 5.3?
  22. Mid 16's is my guess
  23. Hey, its GM who puts 275hp and 300tq in a fricking grandma car. There were cars racing at the Power Tour who are slower than mine, I saw high 17's more than once or twice. I'll bet the Caddie will run sub 16's easy.
  24. Its only 20$ to run at the track, and I know the Cadillac isn't going to run a 13.99 so I don't need a helmet.
  25. June 19th is test/tune day at Heartland Park, think I'm gonna take the pimp sled down there.
