I think I have enough skill to make something that is well constructed, last, be aesthetically pleasing, and at a very reasonable price. Then again, I could be completely wrong, who knows. Well you have the shop and the skills, and we have some speaker company. I will keep that in mind. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* I'd love to concentrate on full range.

Who said I knew chit about speakers? Although I do believe that I can make/sell speakers that have a unique look of their own, be heirloom quality, and even sound half-way decent. But I'm down with the doomsday device too.

One of the professors (who happens to be the one who would be the equiv of my boss if I take this job) went round and round last night and the shop and where stuff should be and the layout of it. He is an extremely intelligent man, and a good researcher, but he is just not a shop man. I left there thinking I would just say f' this and not take the job, but now that I've got this nice bone thrown my way... I think I can fix this to where this can be one hell of a sweet deal for me.

Just got a big bone thrown at me for working down in the shop... Walked in today to just eat lunch, walk out after being told to design/lay out the shop as I want it, as long as its reasonable, I get it exactly the way I want it.

Yep, Deft has one hell of an oder.

Have you tried the Deft wood sealer ? That chit is the end all be all for painting mdf, three coats, lightly sand it, couple more coats, another light sanding and the mdf is like glass Nope, but I'll try that next.

So I need to come up with a cheap hairbrained idea to use 6 Mach 5 Audio MLI 6.5's... I've got this box sitting on my floor begging me to be used... If I would have been thinking I would have bought a lot more and made a line array, but it happens. Two have intentions of going in my roommates truck, but thats quite aways off.

If anyone is interested in my method of painting for speakers/steel I'll be painting some MTM's here in a week or two and I can take some photos and do a small write up on it. Not very hard, uses rustoleum paint, cheap, and looks good.

If you want to get rid of the blotch looking finish when you paint it... Seal it with two-three coats of polyurethane (sanding in between coats and before primer), also understand shellac works excellent but I've never tried it. Then do two coats of primer and two coats of color. Its a cheap and easy way to get a very nice looking finish.

I'm quite interested to see Steve's other topics on the mental aspect. I've had some training/experience in the mental game, but it has been in an entirely different field (competition pistol, international style). Always good to look at something from multiple sides.
