  1. Actually, ALL the forums I'm on seem slow.
  2. The 'Hop is teh slow recently.
  3. I'll say it... Just because someone may have a degree in Electrical Engineering doesn't mean they know squat about designing speakers. *chuckles* Nope, I'm a Junior in EE and there are very few people in this major here at Kansas State University (students, grad students, and professors) who truly know wtf they are doing when it comes to loudspeaker design.
  4. Not to shabby at all. First dibs on closeouts would be a great thing.
  5. Nice. So does Ramos get to help you move the beasts then?
  6. My vote goes for building another pair, but with a bigger driver. Also something that I have discussed is putting another driver (same type, just a second one) in the baffle on a low pass filter to give an extra boost in the low end.

link please it was close http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...33b6cf612bb3ca6
  8. So scratch that itch. Hell, I'll even build and ship.
  9. Well now that one depends on the type of wood . There are some that I prefer to use gorilla glue on , but I'm not usually building any kind of speaker enclosures with those kinds of wood More in reference to the type of wood used in speaker enclosures.
  10. What on earth did you do Jim? Ramos's method of lead shot and epoxy?

Thanks, but it needs a lot done to it. More clamps, new Incra miter gague, new Incra fence/outfeed table, couple more work benches would be just awsome. I'll post a pic of the drivers when I get them in, but they are the Fostex FE127E's.
  12. Why some people think Gorilla glue is the best kind of glue for wood is also beyond me.
  13. Just ordered my new 'peekas. Pictures of current build in home audio section.

I figured I might as well post some pictures while I'm building the Mileva's... It will be updated as it progresses. Plans. http://homepage.mac.com/tlinespeakers/FAL/...-1v0-021207.pdf Stacks of lumber The braces. Internal baffles with the 5* angle from the tablesaw. (There is another set too, just didn't photograph them) The sides drying on a back baffle. I'll post more pictures as it progresses.
  15. 62.xx$ in roughly a 32-44oz plastic cup, and there wasen't that many quarters.
  16. Time to go to the bank and deposit some money, and have them count out about 10lbs of change.
  17. At the same time being ignorant became cool.
  18. Liquid Nails creates a surface bond, while it will work to hold two pieces of wood together, it is not the right way to do it. Wood glue is the best way to glue two pieces of wood together, other ways will work, but they are sub-par. Some people may do it with liquid nails because they say that they don't have time to go get woodglue or whatnot, I personally don't have the time, nor desire to build it twice.
  19. CBFryman is back? *raises eyebrow*
  20. I'll say it... Just because someone may have a degree in Electrical Engineering doesn't mean they know squat about designing speakers.
  21. I hate how people think that Liquid Nails is an acceptable adhesive for building a speaker box.
  22. Damn, I'm sore. Not use to being a carpenter all day anymore.
  23. I'm using a Razr....
  24. Freud FTW!
  25. Oh and Merry Christmas to all you 'hoppers.
