The only kind of platform (defined as something a person stands on that deems them the center of attention) that should be built in a college house needs to have a brass pole going up through the center of it.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have some mahogany veneered ply to use as the base ring for Tom's co-ax tweeter mount, I just need to get time to build the damn thing.

Welcome to the IHoP
Hmmm, what I would like to find is 3/4" 13ply Mahogany veneered plywood that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I know of where I can get some, but it is so god awful expensive by the time I had enough it would cost more than my entire basement setup almost.

I'm Reallllly having an urge to build some bookshelves for a Usher 8945P driver and some unknown tweet currently since I'm looking at using the driver for the 5.1 home theater project I'm going to be doing here soon. Plus I just want to play with the driver.

The guy I demoed my BIB's for was floored by the sound the produce with such little wattage.

Welcome to the IHoP
Showed off the BIB's to a professor today, he really liked them. If he stays here I have them sold.

Hmm, this sounds similar to Columbus, Georgia, everyone was driving fast as hell until you get on to the base, then its 1 under the speed limit.

My collection of tweets isn't quite as extensive: RS28 Seas 27tf Scan speak D2904/6000 Vifa XT 19 I will probably have at least one more pair by then as well, as I am in love with the HDS's and "need" a set. If I have any free cash perhaps a Behringer will be there as well. Damn, this might get expensive I might have to put you all to work. If I can't make it I can ship my Behringer up to you. I can even ship a rack amp or two if you need them granted you'll help on shipping. If Tom drives through, perhaps he can pick it up werd, Topeka doesn't look too far from Manhattan werd, its an hourish.

Welcome to the IHoP
Ok, question on some home theater speakers... I'm doing a 5.1 install for some friends, and I'm looking at using the Usher 8945P driver (7") for the mid on the 3-way mains, then a MTM setup for center channel and a TM design for the surrounds. Is having something like that just to flat out big for the surrounds? I've never done surrounds before and not sure on how big they have to be. I was looking at keeping all the driver/tweet setups the same to make sure the sound stays consistant as it travels around. So basically I'm wondering if having a TM using a 7" is just to damn much for surrounds and need to step it down to something like a TM using a 4" or so? Opinions?

holy chit batman !!! that is crazy! you can defintely tell where it's going to rattle, lol. that peak is the crazy. and you have some serious tools/toys. hanging out here with you guys is really making me feel dumb. times like this, i feel like i belong at the chithole. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Kent, you belong here not the chithole believe me I like you which I surely can't say about the fools over there. As for the peak, it is a bit exaggerated...but it does show exactly how the roof will bend when exposed to 51hz. When we do the box comparison we will see similar things in the mdf, although the motion will be less than the driver the surface area of the box is larger which is basically more Sd which of course needs less motion. It will surely paint a picture for us. like me or not, most of the crew here really makes me feel inferior, lol. damn. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Bah, you have absolutely no reason to feel inferior. Ever.
