Welcome to the IHoP
I really want to upgrade preamps. What I would like to do is build my own tube one, but I have to find plans for one that I like first.

Stocking a wetbar
Ok so June has arrived, I've got the house and we now have a webar in the basement. The only problem is that we don't have much alcohol currently to fill it with and I'm looking for some recommendations as what to get to stock the bar with. Keep in mind this is a college budget and I'm looking for more middle of the line stuff. What we already have... Jose tequila Disaronno Crown Assorted whiskeys What I'm looking at... Seagrams 7 (gotta have the 7 & 7) Rum, need some ideas as to what kind Vodka, cheaper stuff Drinks for the womens, the fruity crap Mixers General bar crap Also, I was thinking about picking up some wine, except I don't know crap about wine. So basically I'm looking for some input from people who already have stocked bars before and know what gets used the most. I drink pretty much anything so I don't have any particular thing that I drink always and I'm nto real picky. The bar.

Welcome to the IHoP
I'm running 512meg of ram with a slightly overclocked (a little past 2Ghz) AMD 64bit chip.... Haven't touched the thing in two years, it turned into a basically internet/music only computer so I never bothered.

Planar home subwoofer ideas.
The maggies have just shy of 3,000 in^2 of radiating space (front and back) and I find the size to not be a problem but also the maggies are a Completely different design than what I am thinking of so I find the only comparison I can make between the two is the size issue. What I'm not sure about is the decware design has the panel pressurized by the pole vent in the woofer and the air displacement comming off the front of the cone can radiate into open space. Due to this the way I'm looking at this is you get the standard displacement of the woofer and then the added displacement of the panel providing possibly double the air movement. I can see this as an advange for when using a subwoofer in a smaller room and what extra output without sacrificing space due to the fact that a tall thin panel dosen't take up a whole lot of room.

Planar home subwoofer ideas.
Ok, I got this idea from looking at Decware's planar speaker design they have up, LINK and was wondering if this could be scaled up for a home subwoofer type setup. My thinking was with the large radiation area could make up for using a smaller driver due to the fact that the displacement of the airmovement is going to be pretty dang big. What I am wondering is if anyone knows of anything like this that has been done before. I think if it could be pulled off with reasonable degree of sucess it would look really cool with maggies, plus I think it'd be a challenge o build something like this too. Does anyone have an idea as to what size of panel area I would need for a woofer, and what volume of airspace would be needed in the panel. I really have no idea as where to look on something like this, other than try to build one and see what happens. So any opinions are welcome

I see the Captain so I'm gonna ask a lifting question. If my right shoulder rotor-cuff is messed up currently (some muscles are pulling it out of wack, don't remember exactly what they told me) but I'm currently doing some therapy to fix it, should I lift? It bothers me basically all the time so should I wait till I don't have any pain to lift?

Called up and got digital cable and high speed at the house, turns out there was already basic cable running to the house, so the kind lady on the phone did some trickery and made it so we don't even have to have one of their lame installers come out, just pick up the equipment from the office and away we go!

Good lawd these maggies are horribly inefficient! They laugh at everything my QSC Powerlight as to offer... Its still pretty damn loud but I figured that it wouldn't take my powerlight that easily, never had the clip lights flash on it but its all good it has a pretty darn good clip limiter and it wasen't for long.
