I'm a sucker for all black man, really I am. The next set I build will probably be stained, using MDF and veneer. Birch really isn't stain friendly, it tends to come out blotchy. Man after my own heart... What you really need to do is some hardwood TM boxes, some nice Walnut would look excellent. I'm a sucker for walnut...
