Matt, a few weeks ago we discussed string trimmer string. So far the new Stihl CF3 pro stuff is awesome. I think this is fuel tank 5 on the head without a reload. I think by now we would have rewrapped it at least 6 times.

All done, seems to work.

For the price of the thing I would have thought they'd have included an inline fuse in the power cables too...

Called in and got it worked out. When using 12v electronics off of a series battery system, pull it off of the 'low side' battery only. Everything else is situation normal. Why couldn't they have just put that in there? Or if I wouldn't have read the instructions I wouldn't have had an issue.

The boat has 3 batteries. Two up front in series at 24v for the trolling motor, one in the back for engine. Trolling motor is hard wired in to the batteries. Selector switch is to add the ability of a backup set of batteries for stowing and a way to kill power to the motor.

Selector is for only the trolling set. He wants a second bank as a backup for if he kills the set to be able to stow the motor under power and not have to manually stow it. Charger is hard wired to the batteries. Selector also allows a power kill switch since it is hard wired. Entire setup is isolated from crank/engine battery.

I suppose that could be? I tried calling them but of course I called 6 minutes after their tech support closed. So if your switching the negative do you tie the positive together then on the banks.

Are you cursed? My work truck is a 2016 GMC Sierra, it's got some random misfire that puts it in limp mode randomly them goes away. Dealer is trying to figure it out. Haven't had much luck yet.

Low side being the battery with the negative post, high side being the one with the open positive post. Two 12v batteries wired in series.

Anyone care to help an idiot out? This trolling motor is a 24v motor, wiring in a marine battery selector switch for a future battery bank addition. Normally I would wire that to go from the + lead on the high side battery to the selector then to the motor. But there is this line in the manual... Are they saying to switch the negative lead instead? Automatic Jump Start Systems and Selector Switches Automatic jump start systems and selector switches tie the negatives of the connected batteries together. Connecting these systems to the “High Side” Battery or “Middle” Battery in the diagrams below and will cause significant damage to your trolling motor and electronics. The only trolling motor battery that is safe to connect to one of these systems is the “Low Side” Battery

Thanks for the info! Former location was going to be off about 10". New location will drop on center line. Its going on a 19' Carolina Skiff. Way better to find that out now than remounting it in a few weeks.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
No, just the motor frame is getting mounted. Knowing what I know now I would have said to also get the quick attach mount plate.
