another fine suggestion. what is the price range of thoes new/used? Not sure really, the one guy I know of by me that is running a 12" APXX (should be about a 140+ on music) got a 12 APX and 12 APXX for 200 bucks... If you look around, you can find them cheap, recones are 80 bucks or thereabouts I think.

Hey Jim, on my behringer tube preamp... To replace the tubes, Do I just pull the black plastic thing off the top of the tubes, then pull the tubes straight out, or what? Another thing when I get home is to replace them w/ some of those Sovteck ones(whatever the spelling is).

If it's a receiver, I'd pass. If it's a tuner, depends on what kind...problem with old tubed radios are that they might need an alignment, early FM stereo receivers that are tubed may have horrible MPX decoding for the stereo signal. Just isn't stable enough usually. Its an old stereo cabinet w/ turntable in it and AM/FM tuner. I'm not sure what kind, I didn't see a brand on it, it says 45wrms?? The cabinet's in pretty good shape though. IDK...

Went to a thrift store today... saw something that interested me. They had a vacuum tube volt meter, is that for measuring vacuum tubes, or does it use vacuum tubes. I'm stupid here... I saw a radio that I about bought too... It was old enough it used tubes... I'm a big fan of the old radio's, don't know why though. It also had a turn table in it too, it had a single 8"? speaker in it, not even in an enclosure, just mounted to the damn front. Looked pretty cool, I liked it, cabinet was decently well constructed and in decent shape, only one knob was missing off of the controls. It said 45wrms on the sticker on it... Almost bought it for the hell of it, still might buy it if its still there when I leave to go home for easter. Just rambling...

I can't wait to see a review of these next to the Extremis... Mainly in the sq category. I'm still debating with myself on what to put in my next home/dorm setup, dual extremis, or these.

I just got a 1008, I like it so far. Thats all I can say at this point. But damn, does it have mechanical noise.... hopefully it'll go away in the ported box.

We blew 2 of them in less then a week... Howd ya blow them?? but overall, I'm pretty fond of my 1008...
