  1. I have, not sure if I'm going to compete this year. I want to build a ported enclosure first. And since I have a summer semester coming up in which I have to do my senior design project, I'm not sure if I'll have time. Gonna have to play it by ear.
  2. What exactly is end correction?
  3. Nice, I love it here. Hopefully you go to a school around here so you can attend competitions and what not. I still wanna here that BTL. good thing competition starts in spring Truth.
  4. Hhaha, I mean I enjoy math but this stuff is just brutal. I've been reading the book a lot and it seems to be helping. It defiantly doesn't help that the class is 5pm-7pm two days a week.

  6. Nice job. I don't know if its been asked already but what schools/what do you want to major in? thanks, but i'm going to major in criminal justice and the schools are University of Tampa, Barry University, Bridgewater State. Westfield State, Worcester State, Johnson and Wales, and St. Thomas University Good Schools right there, best of luck to ya. I'm almost out of college and I don't want to graduate. what school & major? I'm at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. I'm in their Mechanical engineering program, 4th year.
  7. So I'm currently taking differential equations and it is quite possibly THE most difficult and confusing course I have ever taken. Are there any engineers/math majors out there that have any tips on getting through this course?

  10. That is one sexy mofo
  11. If you made the cut out the size of the motor, you won't be able to mount the sub woofer itself. You're actually looking for the cut out diameter of the basket. The cut diameter for Sundown 12" subs is 10 and 15/16". The motors on sub woofers are almost always (99.9%) smaller than the cone itself. The only exception to that rule, that I know of, is the DC LVL 5 10.
  12. Well according to the article, its to isolate the two charging systems. But since you're not doing this I think you just have to tap into the factory plug from the primary alternator and wire it into the second alternator so it knows what to do.
  13. There's a problem that is talking about AC generators not DC. Yes your alternator creates an AC waveform, in fact three of them, then converts it to DC. If you were to measure the AC output before the rectifier it would have three waveforms about 45* out of phase of each other. It will look something like this. After you convert AC to DC there is no phase. That's exactly what I was thinking, couldn't put it into words though.
  14. Contact a reputable alternator manufacturer that does dual alts kits like mechman or dc power. I bet they can get you all the info you'll ever need.
  15. That's what I gathered from it. Being a mechanical engineering student, it takes me a little longer to figure out electrical stuff but I get it eventually.
  16. If they're internally regulated, something like an MLA module would keep them in sync with each other.
  17. I think you are overthinking dual alts big time. I've never heard of needing an 'equalizing connection' or them running out of phase. its dc power not ac. dc power, as far as i know, cannot run out of phase.
  18. I'm big on the Discovery channel and History channel, I watch Top Gear on BBC America. But I usually watch movies.
  19. Student at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in their Mechanical Engineering Program and I work part time in an MIT Autonomous Vehicles Lab.
  20. The anticipation of reaching your goal has got to be killing you. Great job BTW.
  21. thanks, and yea it's rare to find people really into car audio around here. but i should be north of boston a couple times next spring/summer competing in the NESPL. you should check their events out. www.newenglandspl.com there's no events listed yet but should be soon enough Yeah they had an event last year in one of my school's parking lots but I couldn't go. Hopefully I have a ported box built by then and I can hit the lanes.
