Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?
Jacob at Sundown did a test on the AP18001D comparing it to the SAE1200D V2 and it did like 1440 rms at 2 ohms wide open, not acounting for THD. Its rated for 1150, so I think it will get close to 1800 at 1ohm and a clean signal. http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=15482&page=4

Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?
Thank you sir. Straight from the man himself, lol. Still gettin used to having questions answered by the owner of the company. I will be setting my gains properly and not using any bass boost or loud buttons. Thanks.

Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?
Can't afford both, lol. I could do the DSC1500.1D but I figured the AP18001D would be a better match.

Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?
Ok, gettin a little worried about all the warnings I have recieved that the HDC3s don't get low and have a funny hollow sound to them. Just sayin, if more then 3 people tell you that you look like a jackass, you might want to take a look in the mirror, lol. So, I am really liking the Xcon 12 D2. Plays low, sounds great, and is a sexy driver to boot. Question is, do you think a Xcon 12 D2 and a Audiopipe AP18001D would be a good match. I know what alot of people will say about AP, but I know they are solid amps that do rated power. Lookin at a box 2.2^3 net tuned at 32Hz. I listen to mostly rap, but also do some oldies like Al Green and a little rock. I want a low and loud daily ground pounder. I think the Xcon is the perfect sub for me. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

what should i do?
Do you think he really needs to tune that low? From what I have been told and seen myself, the HDC3s tuned around 36-38Hz still dig the lows.

SSA ICON or AUDIOQUE HDC3 15"
- SSA ICON or AUDIOQUE HDC3 15"
I'm aware of that... just trying to see what each offers. From the videos I've seen its looks like the Audioque is quite efficient and goes through notes like butter, while still moving air and killing them lows. I do want it.... I really just wanna stay with the Audioque 1200d and If it could get the HDC3 moving nice with that would be great. I got a p400.4 pushing highs and mids. Might take the p400.4 out to avoid drawing more power and getting some new Memphis co-axils ( they scream even when powered with just the head unit). Until I get to the electrical upgrades. But more opinions on the Icon or the HDC3 based on my wants. I agree, sounds to me like you want the HDC3. Maybe you just need a kick in the ass to get going, lol. So here it is, GET THE HDC3! Ha Ha, seriously though, they get loud and carry the high notes well but still dig the lows. And the AQ1200D will push it decent, even though they will beg for so much more, lol. For a little more you could really do it justice and throw a MB Quart DSC2000.1D at it. $275 shipped on egay all day. They love 2000 watts. Well goodluck with whatever you choose.- Mdizzle's build log
Looks like it is gonna be LOUD, lol. I feel ya on the can't wait, ha ha. My company usually doesn't send out w2s until the last week of Jan.- subwoofer comparison
The only way to ever truly tell is to buy them both, put them in the same box, same car, and run them off that same amp. Then decide for yourself and sell the ones you don't like. Sad, but true.- Front Stage Idea
Thanks, I am getting the ABS from the same place as my fuses and Stinger 1/0 to 5/16" terminals. 17" x 21" x 1/8" for like $10. Should work fine.- What size fuse?
Thanks guys.- audioque?
The amps are in no way similar to HiFonics. The board for the AQ2200D and the BXi2600D look alot alike, but a board is just a board. I'm no expert, but I know there is alot of other ish that goes on the board and Audioque is said to use top quality. The AQ3500D normally runs $699 shipped but is on X-mas sale (all amps are) for $549 shipped. DJ (the owner of AQ is a good guy and cut everyone a break for X-mas). The AQ didn't hold up to the Sundown in all out power, but all Sundown amps are under rated. AQ rates their amps dead on, DJ swears by this. In a watt to dollar comparison the AQ holds it own for sure. Jacob, the owner of Sundown, even remarks in that thread about how AQ is a quality amp. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great amp or sub at an awsome price with top notch customer service, Audioque is your company. The only reason you don't see an AQ amp in my sig is by the time I have my money and am ready to purchase equipment, they will be offsale and out of my budget .- *****Chevy Malibu Warden Build!!********
- What size fuse?
Naw whoever told you 250 is . Some go with a little under amps total fuse rating because you more than likely will never pull that many amps. Then you have some that go about 10-15% more than amps fusing, it all boils down to preference. Then you have another batch who fuse to wire's capacity so in all actuality you wont get a constant answer. Your on Team Audioque with these type of questions? No, not on Team Audioque, seen the logo and liked it. For around $5 I can buy one and stick it on my car window, doesn't make me a member of Team AQ. Just a guy with a sticker.- What size fuse?
200 amp at the batt and 2 100 amps at the distro. Sound good? ///M5?- What size fuse?
Wire and Fuse Selection: The following calculator will give basic wire and fuse sizes for the main power wire and for each individual amplifier. Select the class of operation for each amplifier and enter the power output at the right of the amplifier. If you have less that 4 amplifiers, enter zero in the fields that are not needed. Keep in mid that these are just suggestions. If your amplifiers don't have internal or on-board fuses, use the manufacturers suggested fuse in the distribution block. The fuse sizes given are to protect the vehicle from fire not necessarily to protect the amplifier.- 12 ga Speaker wire enough for Mid/Tweets?
What'd you use??? For my subwoofer I ended up using some Rockford Fosgate 13AWG twisted wire that I had laying around. I will be buying some nice 16 guage wire from Fry's within a couple of days since they have spools of 100 ft for $20-30 depending on the quality. Nice to know, I usually just buy the Scoshe 14 gauge from Walmart, iirc it's like $15 for 25ft or so. Will def look into this. Thanks.- What size fuse?
Ok, so we got 150, 200, and on another forum 250 , can someone give me a consistent answer, please. Thanks.- What size fuse?
Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will eat for the rest of his life. Thank you for breaking it down.- What size fuse?
That's what I figured, but I have heard people say that was wrong cause you are fusing the wire not the amps? If I went that route then it would be 180 for both amps, so a 200 would be good, correct?- What size fuse?
Got about 12-15 feet of 2/0 run from battery to trunk, going to be running DSC1500.1D @ 1 ohm 1500 rms and DSC280 @ 4 ohms 160 rms. What size fuse should I put next to the batt? Was thinking 250 amp, would that do it? Thanks. If it matters, stock alt 80 amp, Yellow Top 55 ah, Big 3 done in 2 gauge welding cable.- hifonics brutus
The Audiopipe AP line puts out rated, has been proven time and again. The AP1500D can be had on egay for around $160 shipped and the new AP1800D for $190 shipped. Another good option is the MB Quart DSC line. The DSC1500D for around $200 shipped and the DSC2000.1D for like $275 shipped which I will be running in my next system. The MB Quart brand is under the Maxxsonics umbrella, but in a completely different ball park imo. I have personally seen the DSC2000.1D on two fully loaded BTL 18's at only 2 ohms, so 500 per sub, and all I can say is this amp is a beast! Those subs where bangin for 1000 rms.- Front Stage Idea
Thanks for all the input guys. Finally made up my mind for sure. Going with MB QUART PVI216 (PVI216) 6.5" 140W PVI Series Component SPEAKERS 70 watts rms run off a MB Quart DSC280 80x2 at 4 ohms. Going to fab some mounting baffles for my factory 5x7 holes from 1/8" ABS plastic sheet. - SSA ICON or AUDIOQUE HDC3 15"
