  1. I thought the AP was 1 ohm stable... It says that they are rated at 3000k @ 1 ohm. My thought was that even if they are overrated, I could still get over 2k rms with imp rise... What type of actual power should I expect from a SAZ-1500D. I have read both that they are underrated and that they are rated to the specs...
  2. I have to choose between the SAZ-1500d or a Audiopipe AP30001D. I know the build quality is better on the SAZ, but I believe I will get more output from the AP. My electrical is a stock 140 amp alternator in a dodge magnum and a extra battery (NSB90). I need to power a pair of Fi Q15's. Being unbiased, which amp would better suit my setup? I wanted to give the subs 1k watts each... I was used to 150+ because I was running 4 Q15's on an IA40.1, but now I am just going to run two, but want to lose as little output as possible. Oh yeah, the Q's are both dual 1 ohm w/ no extras. Thanks for your assistance.
  3. The Q's are ridiculous sealed IMO. I liked the sound much better when I had them sealed.
  4. That's who it was! Thanks man.
  5. Long story short - My car was in shop and amp came back fried. I believe that two of the FET's need to be replaced. Where can I send the amp to get repaired properly? Someone told me a while back but I can't remember who they said to send it to. 6 months without it is starting to drive me nutz!
  6. Congrats man! THAT is what life is about. I got my second one on the way in 3-4 weeks. She's about to pop already, so hopefully she makes it full term.
  7. Let me know how it sounds.
  8. Yeah, I have rights to everything. I'll send you a few tracks that make speakers happy.
  9. Yeah, I don't expect everyone to like it, especially people who aren't from Miami. It's was meant to be a local track to gather a following down here. We have other tracks that are more universal and commercial. Adobe Premiere Pro.......to capture, but only used Ulead Video Studio 11 for actual editing.
  10. Ha ha yeah, it was good times during the shoot! Yeah, those are Q15's.
  11. Oh, the subs are mine too, lol.
  12. They are about 3/4 the way through. u94gS4tF3SE I'm the guy at the end, in the tank top, with the big breasted girl (black bikini top) I did the production and editing, so I hope its all good.
  13. I played with it more lastnight and damn! My wife yelled at me, lol..."You're gonna break your car!" I want to meter it now to see if I gained at all. Sure feels and sounds like it.
  14. I own a pest control company. I am trying to pickup Rental building, hospitals and resturants. I have one resturant chain, a nursing home and believe we are being approved for a Management company to pickup 7 rental communities with a few hundred units each. We are also working on a Bed Bug prevention plan to market to all of the magor hotels across the contry. If I land a few more accounts I should be fine. I also have a small record label which will make money of one of my artists get signed to a major label. BassRace is a good option. I will look into it. I also payed with the settings on my HU and amp. I just put the HU in a couple days before the show, and found a separate bass setting maxed out, which affected the subwoofer volume. I have the gain very low and my subs where heating up. Now with the bass to 0, I turned my gain up and it hits harder and no heating up the subs....I guess the signal from the HU was clipping...is that possible?
  15. Get the Q and upgrade later if you want more. A single Q is still stupid loud and the 30's n lows are disgusting with the Q's. Just make sure you build right and give it clean power.
  16. What do you want out of your system? Loud DEEP bass, that is musical and tight, or REALLY REALLY LOUD bass ?
  17. Dual 1's and the 40.1 runs fine at .5 ohms. I dont think I will be getting that much equp. Right now. Isn't there an amature class to get started in? I would have to get some funding to get some of that stuff. Can I compete and still play music? I am thinking about keeping one of the Q's so I can listen to music while not competing, but if I can create a loud setup that meters well and still hits low, then I'm all for that. I figured I would just switch out the box. If my business picks up the way we expect it too, then I will probably pick up a CRX or something that can be dedicated to farts. I need to see what this shop is willing to invest. Maybe I'll just make them by the stuff if I can convence them too.
  18. I have 4 Q15's ported in 10ft^3 tuned to 32hz on a IA40.1 @ .5 ohms. I am hitting 152db on a TL and 159.6db on AC mics, but I have it tuned for music and I feel the Q's are much more powerful down low. I compete locally for fun in unsanctioned events and have a nice lil collection of trophies. So this past Sunday, a local but large Car Club asked me to join up, because they want an SPL division for SBN and whatnot, and they have and audio shop on board to help with builds. So I agreed, but know that I need to do better then 152 on a TL to have a chance in an "official" comp. I have only a 140 amp alt, but I have 2 batts for my electrical and the IA 40.1. Max box ~10cubes. What would be my best choice and amount of subs for an SPL setup, with what I have? I will keep 1 or 2 of the Q's and keep a sealed box for daily, and throw in the SPL box when I compete. I want to run with Fi subs, but I'm not sure if I should go with 2 BTL 15's or 3-4 BL 12's or what ever. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
  19. You need to double up that power. Two Q15's on an IA40.1, snapped the welds connecting the sheet metal of my roof to the cross bracing in my Magnum.
  20. Somethins moving, that's for sure.
  21. My setup is 4 Q15's tuned to 34hz (lowering it to 28hz soon..hopefully) on an Incriminator Audio 40.1 @ .5ohms in a Dodge Magnum.
  22. Maybe I'll go with 6 ports. Either way, it will be louder, and that's my goal, not the SQ. It still sounds cleaner the most setups at the shows down here.
  23. It's five 4" round ports, not one single port. Would SIX ports be louder then FIVE, or will it just cut down on port noise? My enclosure is not being built until next week after SEMA so I can still play with the calculations a bit.
  24. I have decided......No change! Only thing different is going to be my box. I am going with 11.6ft^3 (after displacement) all single chamber with (5) 4"round X 11" long ports. It's slightly on the small side for 4 15's, but...I will obtain my goals with it.
  25. Ok....I guess you're right. So that means I need to design a bigger box to go ported with the 4 Q15's....I have a basic idea, but I don't think it will fit, so back to the drawing board. Also, the person I have building the box wants to use 1" mdf instead of 3/4" so that affects me specs too......man, I remember when I thought 1 12" sub was loud.....what's happened to me? lol Question about cancellation..... I have 2 subs firing back and 2 subs firing up. Thats the only way I can fit that many in the magnum. For the ones firing up, what is the minimum distance that should be between the face of the subs and the ceiling? I dont want cancellation or to restrict the air from the back.
